My husband and I decided that for our wedding, he was going to manage the wedding finances so I didn't waste money on "silly" things (like...live doves or ice sculptures or a string quartet...I really did want a string quartet) while I would manage planning and coordination. So basically I was a baller on a budget, trying to put together a 200+ guest wedding that was simple but classy, modest but beautiful and affordable but memorable. My search for a photographer who could make our wedding photos art ended when I found Steven, the main photographer at Stunning Bride. Upon our first meeting at a Starbucks near our house (Steven drove out to meet us in the middle of the week, we really really appreciated that!) my husband and I felt completely at ease and knew that we wanted to book him for our wedding. Steven and his partner Beverly, who did the shoot with him, were accommodating, easy to work with and took a lot of time to find out what we wanted from our wedding pictures. To "ease" them into the madness that was my wedding planning, I let Steven know straight up that this was going to be a looooooong Catholic-Vietnamese wedding which includes a tea ceremony, a full luncheon including mandatory whole roasted pig, a full on Catholic mass of a wedding ceremony and a dinner reception to cap off the night. Thankfully, Steven and Beverly were game and accepted the challenge. Now, I'm pretty freaking intense sometimes...so the month prior to our wedding, I got addicted to Pinterest and ended up making a mammoth wedding photo wish list. I sent the list to Steven the week before the wedding hoping that we could get a couple of these shots on the day of. Steven brought a printed copy of the entire list with him on the day of the wedding and we were able to get a majority of my wish list shots! My husband and I were able to forever retain the lovely moments from our wedding because of the amazing work done by Steven and the staff at Stunning Bride Photography. I cannot express how lucky we were to find Steve of Stunning Bride Photography to shoot our wedding! We just got our pictures back last week and his work blew us away! He got so many great shots and some of them look so perfect it honestly seems like they were staged, but they weren't! The emotion he captured from everyone that night makes me wonder if he is some kind of psychic magical being that knew exactly where to be at every important moment. I gave him a list of the important shots I wanted and then told him to just shoot candid moments throughout the wedding. He did all the shots I asked for and also gave us AMAZING candid shots. It really is true that your wedding day flies by in a blur of excitement and feels like a dream, but being able to see all the pictures throughout the entire wedding is really the thing that helps you to relive a moment that was fleeting but so incredibly special, from angles that I would never have gotten to see otherwise or even remember in the years to come. And Steve and his wife made sure they got all the special moments. I've never really liked taking pictures because I'm not very photogenic, but Steve managed to give me multiple pictures that I love of myself and that is no easy feat! This guy is a true artist when it comes to photography. He seemed genuinely excited to get us the best shots he could and even researched our venue before he even saw the place so that he could get ideas and inspiration! He was very professional & came with state of the art equipment, things we didn't even know existed. He guided us when we needed it and snapped away silently in the important moments. Steve is one of a kind! We were introduced to him by a friend and decided to use him for our engagement photos and wedding. For our engagement photos we went on location to the water and Steve pulled out all his tricks to make it a great experience. He knew exactly what he was doing and made us feel super comfortable through out the whole process. The photos were stunning and we were very excited for our wedding a few months later. The day of the wedding was a haze for me but what I don remember was how amazing Steve and his crew was! He captured everything so beautifully . Hardest thing ever is picking "favorite" photos from our wedding day!! I was much more picky about our wedding photos than I was for the engagement photos. He was really agreeable about not only taking alllll the photo poses I had sent him pictures of (pinterest is a dangerous thing) but also all the candid "in the moment" photos I could hope for. All in all a total of more than 500 photos!!! I love that he sends them all in a link with hi-res photos for you to download and then you can decide what size and how many you want to print of them or whatever. Steve and his assistant were great on the day of. They worked behind the scenes, around all the events, and were good with my demanding bridezilla poses as well as recommending some sweet ones himself. During a quiet moment later in the night he asked if we would like to come take some more pretty photos outside. So glad we did!! In short, all our photos are GORGEOUS and I can't recommend Steve of Stunning Bride Photography enough!!! I'm trying to get all my girlfriends to use them for when they get engaged! read more
