Met a friend for lunch here. We were seated in the dining room and it was us and a big party which was awkward. The server either didn't know about us or was too busy with the big party because no one came over for a while. I ended up going to the host stand to ask for water and for help with a server. Got two clam chowders which were not hot, I just ate mine but my friend asked for hers to be heated. Definitely was then microwaved for too long. The server was clearly irritated when asked to warm up the chowder. Got the crab cake salad and it was delish. Server cheered up over the course of the meal. The seafood was good. We stopped for a late lunch on a Friday. It was not busy but our service was very slow and our waitress got one of our meals completely wrong. We were disappointed that there was not a kids menu and they didn't have any beef on the menu at all. I understand it's a seafood restaurant but not all kids like seafood so having a kids menu with some average offerings like a cheeseburger would be more welcoming. Also, a lot of people like to add shrimp and steak together to things like tacos or a salad. Wow. Amazing seafood meals. Power tower seafood. Fresh oysters, calms and giant shrimps. Lobster roll was great. Full of lobster. Crispy bread. Clam chowder soup was very creamy on a good way. This little place in Sturbridge is an understatement for its location, decor, and menu. The food is excellent. I started with a craft beer and a bowl of steamers which is one of the best ways to start a meal; the only thing missing was my honey to share the steamers. Next was another craft beer and a delicious lobster roll that was toasted perfectly and filled generously with lobster instead of undersized ocean bugs. Delicious! The fries were great, perfectly fried and unique that made for a great meal. Service was with the bartender "Brie-Lisa" who was funny and helpful. Delicious! Came for a late dinner (note even on a Saturday the place does clear out by 9pm) but was not disappointed. Walkable from Sturbridge Conference Center and a few other hotels nearby. We had scallops with risotto, fried shrimp and Oreo Chocolate cake and Cookie skillet sundae. All generous portions. Basil cucumber martini is very refreshing. They have a wide menu selection, and a great cocktail list. I ordered the fish tacos and I was very happy with the choice. We also ordered the poutine to share as a table, and it was a must have! My parents were happy with their choices. Overall, the price point is a bit expensive, but I would say it's worth it for the quality of food. I definitely recommend. We had a reservation and were seated on time. Speediness stopped at that point. It took forever just to get our soup and it was mediocre at best. It was a full hour from when we were seated before we received our meal. Fish and chips were good. I ordered steamers for my meal and they were large and chewy. During epidemic period, I'm glad they do provide both dine-in and eat outside service. They charge an up-charge if you get something other than fries. For a $22 entree I don't feel they should charge you $2 if you want a salad instead of fries as that's a healthier option. This place was nice but there was a mishap which caused our dinner to extend to almost 3 hours. We got the appetizer fairly quickly but dinner came about an hour and a half later. We were tied to this place by a coupon dinner in conjunction with our lodging otherwise we would have left. The staff was apologetic but comping a dessert was a bit of a slap in the face. Please, the length of time, you should have made a general announcement, comped everyone their apps and a few drinks. This may have improved the pissed off atmosphere the staff was receiving. This review is based on four visits to Sturbridge Seafood. Every visit is started with an adult drink and they offer a very wide beer list and moderate wine list by the glass. The raw oyster bar is a must and they are typically serving at least four varieties. I have eaten the fish fry, crab cakes, fish sandwich, shrimp tacos, and clam chowder during my visits. We love the food here. But this review is based for the horrible service on 9/7/22. We usually eat at the bar, but we opted for the dining room on Weds. Food was delivered without silverware & napkins, and it was difficult to get them. Our server forgot our drinks, we were still waiting after 30 mins, even though there were empty tables in the dining room. We were charged for an item we didn't order & 1 additional item we were over charged for. We brought this to her attention & she argued the point about the overecharge even though this item was clearly a lower price on the menu, which we pointed out. Thank you Yelp! Just one night in the area, staying nearby, Yelp pointed us here. This place is everything you could ask for in a Massachusetts seafood stop. Great raw bar, fresh fish, and a deft hand with the fryer if that's the way you like it. There's only so much we could try but we did see all the food being served and this place is definitely legit. As a bonus, i'm traveling with somebody that doesn't eat seafood at all, and even though there weren't any simple meat dishes on the menu without seafood, The chef prepared her an outstanding ribeye steak.
