Andy over in skiing and snowboarding knows his stuff. I came in looking for the "magic boots" that fit me perfectly for my 100+ days a season since I am a full time instructor and pow fiend. He looked at my feet and came back with a of Salomon X Max 100's. They are perfect, first pair! I spent 10+ hours going to Evo, Alpine Hut, REI, 2nd Ascent, Play It Again Sports, and 2nd Base and never found a better pair (Full Tilts are close). Evo needs people who don't take 10 minutes to acknowledge you even if there is only one other person around. Alpine Hut, don't tell me to come back later in a month, twice! REI, you are huge and should have a dedicated ski/board spot... Now I still like these stores, but the service was lacking. Thanks Andy read more

Had the hands-down best experience ever here getting ski boots for my kids today. Natalie was unbelievably patient and hooked my daughter up with awesome new boots. We were all set to buy new ones for my son too (he's older and we thought he'd outgrown his from last year), but when we mentioned we had a couple old pairs in the car that we weren't sure of, she had us bring them in, fitted them for us, warmed up the liners in some magical machine, and ended up selling us on using the ones we already had. I was in need of new ski gear from head to toe...it's been awhile since I've updated my gear. Everyone was so very helpful, from clothing dept, boot fitting and gear repair. It got pretty hectic and busy there due to the start of the season. There was some waiting around but our sales associate, Brian was pretty amazing. He is an efficient multi-tasker, super patient, and very knowledgeable. As I was waiting for my boots liners to heat & mold, he was helping the next customer but always made sure to check in on us. We went to the ski section to find the best skis for me, but there was no one available so we went back to Brian to ask for help. He finished up with his customer and came over to our aid again in the midst of all the hecticness (is that a word? lol) He helped me find what was best for me based on my skill level, height/size, and the pnw snow conditions. To top it all off, he was able to get my bindings mounted onto my skis same day (because we were going up the next day!), even though there was about a week backup in the repair/service dept. We spent a crazy amount of time and money there, but knowing that I got quality gear that fits me makes it worth it. This review is a 5 star because of Brian's assistance! I got boots right before Christmas, it was crazy busy, and I still got a lot of attention, then skiied on them, and came back today to get them adjusted, fit for my foot. Brandt, in boots, is a miracle worker. Been skiing since I could walk, 50+ years ago, but never a day without foot pain. Used to have to unbuckle and flip walk switch in every lift line just to get some relief. One day with Brandt got me into a boot I would have never considered - no walk switch - and an Intuition Liner which slips on and off as easy as a glove - another revelation for me - and where I barely have to latch and yet still get perfect edge control at high speed. Seriously, the single biggest change in my skiing ever. Brandt, where have you been all my life!!! Huge thank you!!!! Such an amazing experience! I had Eric and Brandt helping me with a new backcountry tour set up and making sure I could still use my current all-mountain set up as well. They also made me custom insoles for my boots I already own to make them more comfortable for long treks and wired them for heaters (my feet are always cold!). Went here last week for basic snowboarding stuff(snow clothing, goggles, etc), and the prices were good because it's the end of the season. Sales associate was very friendly and helpful. Went back again yesterday to get an extra pair of snow pants(because they were even further reduced in price) and was impressed because the sales associate remembered me, and asked how my first time snowboarding was. Staff at Sturtevant's has always been fantastic. It's our go-to store for anything snow or water-sport related. Today was no exception. I'm 59-years old and in this uncertain time of COVID19; I loved that when I entered the store they had a table set up with hand-sanitizer and I had to use it before I started shopping. We came in on Saturday, Oct 7th, to outfit our daughter with some clothes and were greeted by Brittney who was energetic and fantastic throughout our time in the store. She was so patient with us and had awesome knowledgeable suggestions for us to choose from for us to make the very best decision. At first we were just looking for some ski pants, then we had asked Brittney about ski rentals and she mentioned Ski mart rents them across the street. We talked a bit about pros and cons for renting and with the informative information she gave us, we decided to purchase her own skis and boots. Brittney did a really good job fitting her with just the right boot for her ability and our daughters progression on the slopes. With the Rossignol rep on site, we were able to get her the proper length of ski that she can still grow into. Funniest things to come out of my daughters mouth to explain her ability was "I can ski 7th heaven without crying!! J" Hilarious!!! We had a really good time working with Brittney who really did a great job of working with our youngster all the while keeping our 9 year old engaged and teaching her some things about gear. I had the best experience ever...It was time to buy new ski boots, which is normally not my favorite task. I headed to Sturtevant's boot fitting center in Bellevue, as they have some of the best boot fitters in this area. Aiden took me under his wing and guided me through the whole process, the nicest, most knowledgeable and patient person I can imagine to help me out. After selecting a few models he thought would be appropriate, we then went through the fitting process. Unlike other boot fitters I have previously tried, Aiden took the time to understand my skiing style and then carefully matched that with the boot options and my foot sizing. Aiden went the extra mile, measuring arch height, foot volume together with the standard least measurement. All the while explaining the process and reasons for the importance of these fitment areas. Even after finding a boot that seemed ideal, we still tried another 3 pairs to ensure we were happy with the results. I ended up with a great pair of boots, that I am sure will match or exceed my expectations...one thing I can say for sure is these are the best fitting pair of boots I have ever had !!! I told the guy I like this boots but I have a nerve on top of my foot and I'm afraid it's going to trigger it on the mountain. His answer was we can return it no questions asked if it doesn't work for you but I'm not convinced you want it, seems like you just want to try it and return it. My husband and I bought new skis in October, and I bought new heated boots (yeah!). We had the bindings mounted, and we were all set for ski season. I was going out for the first time this year and when I went to step in my binding, something was wrong. Apparently, they used my husband's boots to mount my binding. Oopsy. Luckily, I had my old boots and skis so I didn't miss the day skiing. My husband took my skis and boots back to Sturtevant's and explained the situation. They quickly took the skis to the shop downstairs and everyone was like oh, boy, that's a problem. A seasoned employee appeared from the back and without hesitation said he would see if they had another pair of skis in stock. He found a pair and asked my husband if he had 30 minutes, he would mount the bindings on the new skis. I bought a pair of Stöckli's (they don't give those skis away) and was worried about the integrity of the ski if they were going to redrill and remount the bindings. That was never mentioned. In addition to making it right, he gave us 2 free tune-ups. You can always count of Sturtevant's to stand behind their products. First class all the way. read more

This review is strictly for the tennis section only. I recently got back to playing tennis and have been coming here to get my racket restrung. I receive two rackets back from there stringers and found out they have broken 2 of my racket frames from a bad string job. I confronted the manager about my damaged rackets, however he would not replace the rackets. Do not let these people string your rackets!!! Go to Avanti on 148th instead to get your racket strung. Basically the tennis stringer here have no idea what they are doing...BUSH LEAGUE! Avoid at all cost. read more

Bought boots for my 14 year old daughter at the store. After half a day of skiing she was having foot pain. Brought them back to the store and they checked them and decided a slightly smaller size boot would be better. They swapped them for the smaller same model boot for free and heat shaped them for her foot as well. It took some time but Brian was super nice and explained the process as we went along. I am very impressed with Brian and the stores overall polices in terms of backing their products and resolving boot fit issues, this is a case were buying locally really makes sense. read more

Went to Ski Mart and couldn't find Snowboarding pants so stopped by Sturtavants and found some Burton Snowboarding cargo pants XXL tall that fit great! Price was $164 and talked to a super helpful taller slender guy early twenties. He had helped me from the time I walked through the door. I asked him if they would price match to $131.96 from an online site called "backcountry.com", they also have two day free shipping over $50 orders. He said maybe and went to check with a manager. He came back and told me they can do store to store price matching. I said "No worries and thanks" and I headed to Snowboard Connection. Shopping there I found a whole rack of the same exact pants but not in tall. One of the shop guys(Nathaniel) called over to Sturtavants and asked if they would match their store wide Burton cargo pant sale(20%off) and the same manager said no! So alas I will be buying my pants from Backcountry.com and will not be spending my money locally. This was my first time shopping and dealing with Sturtavants and will not be shopping there again. It's hard enough to find clothing and gear at a great price when you 6'8". Thanks to the guy who originally helped me at Sturtavants, you know who you are good sir.
