Absolute gem of a place. The kind that makes you remember that there *are* still food places out there that care. If you're in a rush, it might not be the place for you, since everything is done, or cooked, by hand in front of you, and there's usually only one person on duty. The first time I was there I had to wait about 20 minutes - which is unusual - but it was well worth it ... and they gave me my sani for half price.
My staple is their "triple" Breakfast bun - bacon, egg, sausage, and black pud (negotiable for a bit of extra bacon if you don't like it) - too much to eat unless you're absolutely starving, so I usually get them to cut it in half for me - for less than £2.50.
And not just filling, but *good*. The thing I notice most is the bacon, which is local and better than I get at *my* butcher.
It's basically a take-out, so the decor is minimal (fine by me). There's seats for about a dozen people if you do want to eat, plus a couple of small (2-person) patio tables in the summer; and if you need it, the toilet isn't ritzy, but it is *clean*.
Parking, unfortunately, is as-you-find it but, being so close to the station, it's great for commuters.
Word of wisdom to the Sassies : If you don't specifically ask for English sausage, you might get Lorne (square, Scottish) ones. There's absolutely nothing wrong with them and they taste delicious; they just look a bit odd.
