I purchased a 2013 Honda Civic LX from this dealership. The first person I spoke with was Vu. He introduced me to his manager, Amez, who I found out later on wasnt even part of the management team.. they were both immature.. Vu promised to replace the bumper of the car (it had a hole).. 2 weeks gone by and I still havent got the car.. I got exuses like the bumper was being installed the very same day I asked... then a couple days later they were waiting for the bumper to arrive.. then stopped responding.. I had everything on text messages so I had screenshots sent later on... I sent an Email to Ryan to, coz he received my payment, didnt get a response either. So i decided to Email Mike, coz their website said he was the VP.. I never got a response or acknowledgement from him but at least that same day everyone started responding to me.. it's so unfortunate that I had to go that route to get a response from Subaru Calgary.. After that bad experience with them, I finally got a schedule to pick up "my" car.. Dylan had been assisting me at this point and he is a very kind hearted, honest person.. The day I was going to pick up the car, Taylor had given me a call around lunch time and said he was inspecting the car and it was ready for pick up... Dylan gave me a call at 4:30pm.. and said the bumper was green (car was black)... I was upset but whatever, it was the wrong pantone and they were willing to fix their mistake so I left the car and they gave me a loaner vehicle. They told me the car would be ready the next day.. it wasnt ready.. it extended another day, sure, no problem.. i got the car.. then not even a day had passed and the bumper started bubbling.. that very night I sent Dylan a text message and he immediately responded.. we scheduled to get the car bumper fixed again.. I drove the car back to the dealership to get the paint fixed... 2 days later I got a call that the car was ready.. I went late that afternoon.. guess what.. paint started bubbling again and I havent even driven the car home.. they called the 3rd party guy that did the painting and the guy blamed the heat of the sun for the bubbling..he said he needed a week for the paint to not bubble.. I said okay.. Over a week later, we scheduled the pick up date.. I got there, "my car" was not there.. at this point I have had enough.. like I've driven the loaner car more than "my car".. so I asked for a refund.. I sent an email again to Mike.. I got a phone call from Vijay who offered me 2 years free service after I told him that it's the "service" that I didnt want.. and I insisted that I wanted a refund and Vijay said they cant give refunds to financed vehicles.. well good thing I paid in cash.. it's just funny that he didnt even bother reading the file before talking to me... anyway, when I told him that it was paid in full, he told me that they will keep the tax that I paid.. how is that a refund if I dont get my full money back? Obviously, he was trying to take some of my money even if I didnt want to give my business there anymore.. I wanted to talk to someone who can make proper decisions and finally spoke with Cory who agreed to give a full refund.. unfortunately it was thru him that I found out, the bumper was never replaced (it made me feel so bad coz I was lied to by Vu).. apparently it was just patched.. anyway, at least I got my refund... it would have been nice if they communicated a timeline better.. over a week later I finally got my money back.. It was the worst car buying experience I have ever had but It turned out okay... I guess... even after a long wait... coz I at least got my refund and was able to give my business elsewhere.. read more

I went to buy a used car and my experience was worst with Subaru Calgary.I was most disappointed with the used car sales manager Tarique as he really don't have any costumer care quality. I was doing a little negotiation with a really good sales guy name Jeff and then this manager came and told me to find the car somewhere else with that price range. He was quite rude and arrogant. I bought the car finally as sales guy Jeff was quite good and persuasive. We all like to do little negotiation for our hard earned money but this used car sales manager doesn't appreciate that here.so be careful....... read more

Redeemed I recently purchased a used vehicle here and after the first few days of ownership noticed a few minor items I wanted addressed. I had to go up the food chain from the sales rep to the sales manage and finally to the dealership owner. After some discussion we were able to reach and accommodation. That Trina from the finance department is not helpful at all! I did a follow up call regarding a previous car loan that they should have paid after we traded our car in and she made it looked like that it was our fault that we didn't call the bank to have the payment stopped! It was her who processed our papers before and she totally screwed everything up, it was only fixed when a different finance agent handled our account. If you ever plan to buy a vehicle from this dealership ask for Robyn instead she is more helpful! read more

We were looking at replacing our existing Subaru Forester last fall and checked out both Calgary and Centaur Subaru. We bought an Outback from Calgary Subaru because they gave us a slightly better price. I think I would go back to Centaur if we ever buy another Subaru. Although Centaur prices are slightly higher, the sales pressure is less and they are more knowledgeable and a lot easier to deal with. Notes to consider: - Ignore the bright young gentleman on the floor, they are only there to answer questions and to arrange test drives. All of the deals are done with the sales manager. - Calgary Subaru is a very old fashioned car company. There are no female sales people on the floor. There are only aggressive, commission driven young men. This is a top down managed company and as such, things often seem to get very confused at the bottom. - No time management skills. I booked an appointment one evening at 7:30PM for a test drive. The sales agent kept me waiting until 20 minutes before they closed - he was completing a deal but did not pass this on to another sales agent (did I mention they appear to be commission driven). I had to return two days later. A second time, we indicated that we were time constrained and had to be gone in an hour and a half. We were late one hour leaving. Overall, it took 2 months to complete this transaction. Some of this was our fault but a lot was Calgary Subaru. - Consider using Car Cost Canada or Unhaggle to do your deal for you if you want a Subaru. You can get a good price and completely avoid dealing with the whole sales process. This applies especially if you are a woman, I would not recommend Calgary Subaru at all if you are a woman. You should also look at Toyota and Honda who appear to be better dealerships. - The one bright spot I saw at Calgary Subaru was in their finance department. Ryan Romano was excellent to deal with. We also had a passing contact with a woman who appeared to be in the financial end of things. She seemed to be very effective and organized, and probably could have run the entire company much more effectively than it is currently running. - Staff almost begged to be given a top rating on the Subaru evaluation that came in after the sale, even if their performance did not rate that top rating. Also, Subaru only gives you 5 days to clear up any disagreements on their rating, after that everything is considered to be fine. - Do not take Calgary Subaru's undercoating/noise reduction/paint protection package. Their price is twice what you can get it for from an independent operator. read more

Absolutely terrible service. Terrible communication and attitude from sales management team. Avoid at all costs. With only two Subaru dealers in the city, and a past track record of service incompetence with Centaur, we decided to give Subaru Calgary a shot when purchasing our newest vehicle. Needless to say, we have not been impressed, will not be taking our vehicle there for service, and will be telling everyone we can to avoid them. The sales rep we dealt with constantly lied (told us features were included which weren't even on the model), weaseled around on details between trim levels (semantics between the Limited trim and the Limited Tech Package trim), and on multiple occasions bait-and-switched vehicles. If my wife hadn't been set on a particular vehicle, trim, and colour, we would have purchased a different brand entirely. From the get go, every transaction with them has been an enormous hassle. We've had to phone them multiple times, even on the same day, to get something as basic as a call back with the VIN number to arrange insurance. This was the day before vehicle pickup, and still without a copy of even the incomplete bill of sale. Accessories that were included as part of the deal weren't even ordered until 4 weeks after the vehicle was picked up. They lost the second key, then found it again, called to say we could pick it up, and then lost it again before we arrived. Even then, after asking how they could make it up to us, saying they would deliver the keys and accessories to us on the other side of the city, we have not heard from them again for over 3 weeks. Follow up phone calls have not happened from staff members that said they would call back in 10 minutes, and messages for a callback have never been followed up. To top it all off, besides still not having a finished transaction, the key we do have was delivered with the laminated paper service tag and not a nice keyring (it's $5 at most, come on), and the 3 month trial of XM/Sirius included with the vehicle stopped after 5 weeks, likely because they neglected to inform XM about the purchase date. If I could give a zero or negative stars, I would. For service, use an independent Subaru licensed mechanic, and for all purposes, go to a dealer in another city. I'll be opening a case with BBB as well, these are very shady business practices. read more

I paid for a deposit on an Outback on Aug 1. I was told it would be 8 - 12 weeks for delivery. Each time I tried to get details on my order and a firm delivery date, the date for the car kept getting pushed back. It became very clear to me that the dealership either did not order the car until very late, or sold my my car out from under me. They made no effort to work with me. Trying to get a refund on my deposit was no small feat either. All in all I would not recommend this dealership. It would be gravest if Subaru Canada worked more closely with their dealerships to focus on customer satisfaction. read more

I was in the market for a new small SUV I had it narrowed down to 2 and I was told to look on consumer reports Low and behold the Subaru Forrester is rated number 1 So I added it to the list I went to this location and wouldn't you know it was right in between my 2 choices VW and Honda This location couldn't have been more helpful in helping me decide what car to buy I didn't know that it also sold Jaguar. I walked in that door by mistake Right away two men were on me. Don't get me wrong jags are beautiful but not what I was looking for I asked if they could find someone to help me look at Subaru. That was the last time I got help...lol I looked at the Forrester had a brochure in my hand sat in the car. I adjusted mirrors played with the steering wheel, hell I even honked the horn. NOTHING No one came or helped I opened all the doors and the trunk folded the seats, still nothing There were 5 people sitting at desks looking out the windows, drinking coffee but no one would help I have to say this dealership was amazing in leading me to Honda, I am the proud owner of a brand new CR-V and couldn't be happier. My husband and I recently had the worst experience we have ever had at a car dealership. I have purchased and leased cars at several local dealerships over the years and this was absolutely the most unprofessional experience. This would have been my 5th Subaru. My husband and I went in to lease a 2015 WRX from Tommy Pham. Tommy Pham was an abrasive salesman who knew little to nothing about the car. Being knowledgeable about Subarus, we knew exactly what we wanted and were very clear about it from the start. He kept pushing different models and insisting that we finance. We also had a current lease that was due to be returned and we had asked Tommy Pham about credit for it as it was in excellent shape and had very low mileage. Tommy Pham said to just drop the car off when we picked up the new car and to just give him the keys and to not mention anything to the Finance office or the Sales Manager. Against our better judgment, we had agreed to lease a 2015 WRX and had agreed on a price that Tommy Pham and the Sales Manager had signed off on. I had given my $1000 deposit and we were excited to be getting a new car. Upon visiting the Finance Manager Kim, we were told that there was an error with the prices and that our originally agreed upon payment was now increased by $100. I noticed that the paper that I had signed had new "adjustments" in pen that someone had written AFTER I had signed and my deposit was taken. We refused to pay this amount and the dealership was not accommodating towards their mistake. They "nicely" agreed to refund my deposit....LOL. As we were leaving, Tommy Pham approached us and told me to "take the deal and not to be stupid." Tommy Pham and the Sales Manager make the shadiest combination I have ever encountered and I will never return to this business again. read more

I didnt' purchase my Subaru from this dealership however I had been using the Service dept for repairs to the vehicle. What a nightmare, I paid close to 2000.00 to replace the CV axle drivers side and clutch. This is not the complaint, the complaint comes from having to take the so called repaired Forrester back a total of three times all of which included over a month without my car. The first time I picked the car up on Friday after work and within a few hours couldn't believe that they had released the vehicle to me in that condition, there was a loud noise coming from the supposed fix front wheel area, enough of a noise that if they had test driven the car they woudl have notice the noise....so back the car goes on Monday only to stay another 7 days, picked up on the Monday only to call the Service Manager Thursday cause the noise was again still there and while driving the Deerfoot the clutch peddle was sticking to the floor. Third time the vehicle was put back into the shop was close to 3 weeks with either a lack of phone communication or excuses as to what the issue was, I suggested perhaps I should pick the vehicle up and take it to another garage to have a fresh pair of eyes look at the problem and only then was I paid a bit more attention. At one point was even told that they had had cars on the service lot longer than mine, which at this point was close to the 5 week mark. Only one star given for the fact that Service Manager was the only one that seemed to care about the issue, I would never recommend this dealership for purchase or service. read more

Tried to buy a wrx through this dealership and was greeted by Lowen as I walked in the door very pleasant and nice guy he wasn't pushy at all until the sales manager had come over and that's when I was pushed into buying there gold plan after saying no I didn't want it three times so anyways the problems only escalated with financing I had dealt with Ryan and day after day I had to call him to see where we were at until day three I was told he's handing over my file to his partner and was only told they needed further information for a week straight it was something new with them and was very frustrating until I had had enough and demanded my $1000 down payment back but was only told he would have to write a cheque because for some reason he couldn't put it back on my debit card during all this I was called a punk from another sales rep which is just totally unprofessional my overall experience was terrible and I would not recommend this dealership at all save yourself the headaches and look elsewhere. read more

I would not recommend anyone go here to buy a vehicle. The finance manager pretended he could not get me a better interest rate until I said that I know longer wanted to buy the vehicle from them. Further, they told me that my vehicle had no more warranty on it which is why I purchased the extended warranty through them. After I called the dealership to ensure there was in fact no warranty left on the vehicle they informed that there was in fact a warranty left on the vehicle. After speaking with the manager and him advising me they would remove the warranty, I still got grief from the finance manager who said they would be unable to remove it. After some arguing he finally took off the warranty. I have now attempted to contact this dealership several times to find out if my vehicle came with a spare key and no one has been able to tell me anything. Brutal customer service and brutal sales tactics used. read more

Subaru Calgary is a terrible dealership to do business with. I went in to buy a wrx sti put a deposit down and they sold my car. Told me that I was getting a different one. Well in my opinion that different one was a lemon. I drove the car 4200 kms and my engine blew. They took my car for 1.5 months and gave me a courtesy vehicle for 5 days. Almost lost my job but they didn't care. After my car came back the engine light came on again and the service advisor Tracey for Subaru Calgary told me that I was a dangerous driver. And they Subaru would not help me out. I tried asking for a different service advisor but he as well didn't help me neither, I decided to go up higher to the service manager and he told me that he can not do anything. He barley even knew what the problem was with my car. He talked out his ass then basically pushed me out the door. He did give me a number to whom I called. His name was Solomon he works for Subaru canada, he was no help at all my car has been in the shop 4 times and he told me that if it happens once more then they will do a further investigation, my car was in the shop 4 times!! Isn't that enough to do some further investigation, I believe my car is a lemon and need to be replaced and my deposit refunded. read more
