I have had two bad experiences here. After the first in May, I thought I wouldn't come back. Ultimately, I thought I'd give it a second chance. That was a mistake.
In May, I went in to get my favourite Sandwich, Italian BMT. Halfway through the Sandwich making process, a man enters the store. He is acquainted with the Sandwich Artist in question and he hands her a packet of sweets. She accepts them, still wearing her gloves used for sandwich prep. She puts the sweets aside and then, without swapping gloves, proceeds to touch the filling of the sandwich, pushing it down into the bread.
I respectfully told her that this was poor hygiene as we do not know where the sweets had been or whose hands they had been in. A supervisor was close by and she heard what I told the lady. I then left, sandwich-less.
Around comes August. I decide, "You know what? Maybe it was a one time thing. Maybe they have improved".
I enter the store, this time it is a young gentleman. I ask for the Italian BLT. He forgets to ask which bread I want and proceeds to start with *insert random bread here*. I tell him that actually, I wanted Herbs and Cheese. He apologises and fixes the issue. No harm, no foul.
However, after the sandwich is filled and the gentleman begins to roll it together, about a third of the contents spills out onto the paper. The Sandwich artists simply ignores this and wraps the now semi-empty sandwich up. I tell him that some that spilled out to which he replies, "Yeah, there was a lot in there." I say, "So... are we just going to leave it like that". The SA stammers for a bit. I pause. Normally, I never complain but I know if I accepted this sandwich I'd just be thinking about it later on. I told the SA and who I think was supervising that this was the second bad experience and that I couldn't accept the food.
I left. Again, Sandwich-less. read more
