The mushrooms were good & the hash browns were nice, but the way everything was all piled on top of each other was a bit weird. The latte was good, but not great. My partner had the All Day Breakfast, which he enjoyed well enough. $3 for a side of a few pieces of chorizo seems a bit steep, but I guess that's the Newcastle premium & at least they have chorizo on the menu, so this isn't so much a complaint as a neutral sort of comment. Swings & roundabouts. I probably won't be back, but I don't regret eating here.

Delicious. Fantastic. Superb…read more Maybe a little overpriced, but good LORD the FOOD! It's just so GOOD! The Cubano was the best Cuban sandwich I've had outside of Florida. Take it from someone who lived in Tampa & ate Cuban sandwiches at LEAST once a week -- this place does them proper justice. The jalapeños are an inauthentic but totally welcome addition. The cheese is melted just right, the sandwich is pressed beautifully, & the mustard - it's just right; not too much or too little. My partner's chimmichurri steak was to die for. The thick slab of meat that any lesser cook would have undercooked or burnt was a PERFECT medium. & the relish... Delectable. I was torn between wanting to trade because it was that good, & not wanting to let him near my blissfully delicious sandwich. Well worth the price. I would recommend shredding the lamb after grilling and then mix it with the grilled onion on the grill for less than a minute - get those brilliant mixers together. The customers are a blend of bare-footed surfer dudes and suited 9-5ers. A short walk from the hip Darby Street, Welsh Blacks offers a different pace and a haven for those who enjoy the art of coffee. Just as their business card says, these guys are "coffeesmiths." It's their trade. They're not young upstarts paying their way through uni. This is their full-time jam and it shows. The food menu is sparse and that I'm sure is a deliberate act. There's a few cakes and slices, two toasties, a salad and a chia pudding to select from. Most sit under the $10 mark. Unfortunately the morning I arrived their grinder wasn't playing fair. They were so apologetic to customers as they explained there was up to a 15 minute wait while they took stock of the situation. While it eventually was up and running I'm aware it may have altered their brews for the day and in this case I say, "Great marketing fair chaps!" because it's this reason (also the fact they're super cool and it's a chilled vibe) I'll be returning to enjoy more of their coffee menu.
