Despite there always being a hub of activity going on at this establishment (due to the fact it's always packed), you just can't help feeling chilled out (maybe it's being so close to the sea?). They offer plenty of free newspapers and magazines for you to peruse over whilst waiting for your food, additionally you're made to feel welcome whether you're just having a coffee, ice cream or full blown meal. The food available is generally light (I'd definitely consider this place to be more of a café than a restaurant). The menu offers pizza, small pasta dishes, salads and a variety of Panini's, sandwiches and baguettes (which come with salad and crisps), all of which taste good and are well presented. It is the deserts however which are simply to die for! Sure the ice creams nice, but once you look at some of the cakes under the counter glass it'll be rather hard to resist (just don't think about the calories)! Verdi's doesn't take bookings, and even as early as March it can become very popular on the weekends. Best advice is to come as early as possible, but be prepared for a wait, which I can honestly say is well worth it!

Great to take a coffee, nice cake or a light lunch while walking them along the promenade in a wheel chair.

Subway are a huge chain but this new shop is well staffed and they still give individual service, making sure your sub is done exactly as you want it. The choice of toasted and then adding salad is a great touch, or totally heated after all the fillings. As a take out range they have heavily salted, cholestrol concoctions like my favourite(only very occasional treat) but they also have a great range of much healthier options, low fat subs, salads, mini subs and recently wraps. The salad always seems very fresh and tasty so if you incorporate a wrap and salad or just salad, it's still a tasty place to get lunch(or late nigth snacks).

Working here gave me a nervous breakdown and I was constantly harassed by the manager outside of work for petty things, they then constructively dismissed me as my anxiety disorder made them uncomfortable. Had I not been pregnant at the end of my time here I would have sued for the upset they caused me. Also you don't even wanna know what they do when prepping food!

Pretty good as supermarkets go and I've recently switched from Tesco to Morrisons because it's more…read moreconvenient and I can get slightly more choice in vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free foods. It's a large store too, so most things are available. The cafe is good and there are several veggie choices - the cajun burger is particularly nice, and you can get excellent coffees too. I only have a few gripes. One is that, like all Morrison stores (as far as I know), you have to pay £1 to use the car park. While you can have this reimbursed later when paying for shopping, you are only allowed one and a half hours. If you want to have a leisurely meal and then do a lot of shopping I find this is not enough time. Several times we have skipped lunch if we need to browse in the supermarket and do a 'big shop'. Another irritating thing is having to find another £1 coin to use a trolley - which again you get back later. (Tesco doesn't charge for car parking or trolley use) My next complaint is that the cutlery in the cafe is always a bit smeary and the trays they stand in often need a good clean as they can be dusty. I'm not saying that the knives and forks are necessarily dirty - they may just be smeared from soapy water and not dried properly (I found the same problem in the Morrisons cafe in Brecon). My last complaint is that many of the hot desserts, like the jam roly poly is made with suet so not suitable for vegetarians. Why, oh why, in this day and age, do the cooks need to use animal fats in the desserts? Also, Morrisons would make more money if they used vegetable fats because then they would sell more puddings (think of all the vegetarians who would love to eat one - me for example!!) UPDATE NOVEMBER 2008 To finish on a positive note, we were VERY impressed today by the lovely range of fresh sandwiches (two rounds on each plate) beautifully presented on oblong trays, adorned with salad and crisps, for well under £2 each! The egg and cress sandwiches were only £1.39 and the (truly delicious) cheese and beetroot £1.69. When you think what you'd pay in most cafes for a big plate of sandwiches!! Well done Morrison Cafe - excellent value (I've changed my star rating from 3 to 4!)

Morrisons What is…read morehappening with the stock levels at Morrison's store Neath lately. Two weeks running I have called in for my weekly shop on a Tuesday and found it to be something like a Russian supermarket. Rows of empty shelves in the fresh food area. No vegetables, no bananas. Only milk available with a use by date of TOMORROW! Same with the bread. I could go on. I normally spend upwards of £100 per week on supermarket groceries in Morrison's, I struggled to spend £30 in Morrison's today, mostly on branded non-food items. How on earth do Morrison's hope to maintain their market share, when they maintain such abysmal stock levels and quality fresh food on their shelves to buy. Poor show Morrison's, poor show. I will be taking my business elsewhere next week.
