This is supposed to be fine dining, it is Michelin recommended but honestly I thought it was quite average. I had the 7 course tasting menu plus the wine pairing.
The best thing I thought was the wine pairing, all the wines were excellent and were really suited for the food but I do wonder if the food shouldn't be the star instead of the wine?
The starter was also quite nice and the fish dish did not disappoint either. But I thought the meat dish was something that I expect from a good homely restaurant, it tasted like grits and beef stew. The taste was nice but nothing new or special to it - which you would expect at this level. Furthermore I found the dessert very underwhelming, it was a dry cheesecake, the type you get from the supermarket pre baked.
I must say that the service was quite friendly and prompt so that was also a plus.
Just an average experience, I expected more... sorry. read more
