It's our family alma mater because my sisters went here and later, my nieces as well. Back in my day, the school was K-6 grades. Teachers & principals have come & gone, the school has been renovated & expanded, but it still has that neighborhood feel. There used to be a large schoolyard where we would run our silly little heads off during gym, recess & lunch, but is now the site of the building extension. I think they use the roof now for physical activities. Some old classmates that I have recently contacted are planning a get-together to reminisce about our days at PS130. I heard that Mr. Epstein is semi-retired and still works part-time as assistant principal! That's amazing! This review can't be complete without talking about food. I don't know how the food is these days (my son despises school food), but I thought school lunch then was pretty good. For a FOB Chinese kid exposed for the first time to hamburgers, pizza & fried chicken TV dinners? Remember your first time as a kid at McDonald's? It was like a gift of ambrosia from the heavens!

However, people who rent the basketball court there at night are B*i*t*c*hes: a bunch of 30 and 20 year olds who acted real tough (a few dudes acted like thugs) but call fouls on any sort of body contacts. I played through high school and college (division 2) on varsity team with real refs yet I have never got this many "foul calls" on defense. Then when I had the ball, a short player literally tackled my torso and knocked me to the floor but refused to call it a foul. Plus, they are surprisingly okey with playing on a rim that's at least two inches short; I knew this because I "accidentally" dunked on it. I guess the low rim fits their nonsensical and childish act on court. If you want to send your kids here, I highly recommend the school; if you want to find people playing basketball, this is not the place to go unless you want to deal with the bit*chy acts.

This really big high school is still gorgeous and well cared for and is surrounded by some of the most beautiful homes in New York! Famous musicians like Simon & Garfunkel & the Ramones are just a few that attended Forest hills High School over the years. Unfortunately it's overcrowded and there are many students let in that don't live in Forest Hills or the surrounding area's so it makes it more difficult for children who live close by to attend this really good high school. I have heard it's changed a lot and is not as good as it used to be unfortunately because gangs are in the school and a lot of trouble is cause now but I still think it's definitely one of the best schools in New York City. So many people have been proud to say they attend Forest hills High School or are an alumni and even more patiently waiting to hopefully get in.

I also have arrived to this facility and have seen mainly African American children with diapers full of urine and/feces and face full of snot and etc and when asked why the child looked that way there is never a valid reason. there is lack of competency and accountability at this facility it should be closed down truthfully
