I would give zero stars if I could. My wedding is just a month away, and thanks to Sue's Alterations, my dress is completely ruined. I came in with prior measurements, which the owner refused to even look at, insisting she had 30 years of experience. Instead of following what we discussed and pinned, she altered the dress completely differently. The hemming was done with poor-quality material, and she randomly added buttons that stick out like a sore thumb--details that were never agreed upon. The moment I left, I burst into tears, realizing how much money I had just lost. The owner is beyond unprofessional--she hung up on us multiple times instead of taking responsibility for her mistakes. On top of that, she only accepts cash, likely to avoid accountability for her poor work. If you care about your wedding dress, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. 10/10 would NOT recommend read more

Do not go here! The owner is the most money-hungry, heartless, and disrespectful woman I have ever encountered. She only cares about making money, not about providing quality service or ensuring customer satisfaction. When I expressed my disappointment with her work, she coldly responded that it was not her problem, that she didn't care, and that, in her eyes, she did a great job--despite my clear dissatisfaction. She only accepts cash, which feels incredibly shady, and refuses to accommodate even the most reasonable requests. Her attitude is beyond rude and dismissive, making the entire experience frustrating and infuriating. Save yourself the time, money, and stress--do not deal with this disgraceful excuse for a business owner. I would never recommend this place to anyone who expects honesty, professionalism, or basic respect. To top it off she laughed when i was in tears about the situation. read more

I brought a dress to have it taken in for an event this weekend, $65 is a bit pricey, we don't pay that much for my husbands suit. The hours are listed wrong online, so I came 2 days in a row and they were closed already. So now I have to find something to wear now. I'll never go back here. read more

I've had 6 brand new, with tags still on them, suit jackets taken in to have fitted. This last time I took 3 in at once. One of the coats came back to me with a stain on the lapel and stains on the cuffs. They wanted me to pay to have it dry cleaned, even though they clearly put the stains on it as it was brand new with tags that they even took off. Not real happy after paying $240 for these 3 coats to be altered. read more

Sue is THE BEST. We went there for a VERY last minute alteration and she dropped everything to help us out and fix the dress in under four hours for a next day wedding. She was able to add a corset to the back of the dress to help with it not fitting and no longer zipping in the back. It was done efficiently and for a good price. She was reasonable, very helpful, and gave good and honest advice on what she was able to do or not do. She respects what you want done and makes sure you leave absolutely satisfied with your big day outfit. We were STRESSING but she really helped us feel reassured. 10/10 would recommend Sue to EVERYONE. read more

It's been bitterly cold and therefore it takes me forever to actually take my coat off when I get home. One day I came home wearing my new coat that I got for Christmas (one month prior) and decided to make hot tea. I turned my gas stove on and my coat was a little too close to the flame and it burned two holes. I was so bummed and didn't want to spend $120 on a new coat so my amazing boyfriend found Sues alterations and took it there and wallah! No one would know unless of course they look really closely. Not only is this place overpriced but the lining of my daughter's prom dress did not level with the chiffon overlay. Needless to say when we took pictures you could see the total mismatch and choppy hemming of the dress. There were also stains on the inside of the dress where it appeared something was spilled. Sue's Alterations is the ONLY place I would ever go to. I have always taken some clothes there to be altered and they were always done to perfection and at a very reasonable price. The reason for this review is my wedding gown. I have since moved to Saginaw, and when I got my gown, I took it to a place in Auburn. They quoted me $325, which is average for a wedding gown, but the told me it needed to be hemmed, and it would be more since I needed it to be let out since I gained weight. I didn't think it needed to be hemmed so I decided to make the drive to see Sue. I went with my sister and mom and when I put my wedding gown on Sue said it did not need to be hemmed which we all agreed. She let it out, added a bustle and sewed in cups. Go ally price $150. Sue is very honest and does not add things to get an extra buck. She had it done in a week and it fit lime a glove. I will never go anywhere other than to see Sue. Thank You, Sue!! Sue was very kind and pleasant to work with. I came here to get a maxi dress tailored and she was very welcoming and enthusiastic. I have worked with other tailors before who don't care about getting to know the customer and Sue is way different than those tailors. She made conversation with me and asked me about my dress, along with asking me if I was wearing it for a special occasion. She worked quickly and knew exactly where to hem my dress and even had me walk around to make sure it was perfect. I expressed my concern of needing it by a certain day, and she said it would be done by then. It took approximately 7 days to be finished, and I found the prices to be reasonable with the quality of hem work she did! I brought in my wedding dress to have taken in. David's bridal was not only extremely rude on the phone but they wouldn't even give me an ''estimate'' of what the service I needed typically cost. Come to find out from other brides, it would have been A LOT. I heard about Sue's and decided to give her a call. I was greeted by someone who seemed to enjoy what they do and she was very sweet. Told me no appointment was needed, so I went right in that day. $50 and my dress was ready for me in a week (she was leaving for vacation and it would be ready when she got back).
