We decided that we were long overdue to go back as it's been two years and we were in the area. We'd also heard that the Cobbles is under new management. But don't worry, it's exactly the same! We were welcomed at the door by the new owners who showed us to a table and we proceeded to order loads of food! We decided to go in before the lunchtime rush (11ish) and were the only people there for a good 30 minutes! I had coffee, a cheese scone (you've got to have the cheese scones, they are delicious!), a jacket potato with beans, and then a piece of coffee cake for dessert. Elle had gunpowder tea, a cheese scone (gotta have one! - not gluten free though) a gluten free toasted ham and cheese sandwich and some gluten free chocolate cake! Everything was delicious, the service was excellent, the waiting staff were polite, friendly and helpful. We sat with the sun shining through the door, with little sparrows, robins and other little birds flying up to the door and looking back at us. It was a really wonderful start to a day and I can't recommend them highly enough, they never disappoint and everything is exactly the same as they had been when we last visited. The walls and chairs are a shocking pink, the owner is just adorable and the smell is of baking cookies. We went in for an afternoon coffee and perhaps a nibble on something sweet. We got two HUGE cups of tea and coffee (honestly, the capitals were needed!) a muffin and a cookie (again HUGE) for 4 quid. Yep, 4 quid in total. I know, I couldn't believe it either! It was just so lovely! The perfect place for a princess to enjoy her tea, or ice cream - the ice cream counter looked great! It's got a theme, and that theme is scrupulously applied. The owner (Jacqui) was even wearing pink jeans - the same colour as the walls. It was perfect!

We were…read morepleased to find the lovely Frederick's and even more pleased that they had a table available for the three of us. The staff welcomed us in a genuine and friendly manner. It was obviously busy as many tables were occupied with families celebrating Mother's Day. The décor is lovely and homely. Everywhere was spotlessly clean including the bright white toilet with a great smelling hand wash! The reason for the visit was celebrating my friend's 30th birthday. The waitress even noticed her badge and congratulated her - nice touch! The cake was delicious! They had great gluten-free cakes which I tried. They have more seating available downstairs, so if it looks full, ask if they have any tables downstairs. Overall, I would highly recommend this tea room and will definitely be returning with my friends and family in the future.
