We were able to be at venue Friday night for rehearsal, all day Saturday for the wedding, and Sunday to clean up. Which I know most places don't allow. The venue itself is beautiful. Lots are flowers, gardens, and birds chirping. The reception was outside and food was set up inside which was nice. They also allowed the reception party to go on till midnight which was awesome. With no retail neighbors or walk-by traffic, Donna and Ann Muilenburg know their gift shop is a destination for their customers. Parking is not a problem for customers and the Wash House has a big farmers porch that Donna and Ann use like a display window and expanded selling space in their busy season. In the summer months, the porch is stocked with fresh plants, decorated with garden decor and sometimes flags that flow in the wind to catch the eye of customers as they drive by. The workshop is right in the store and Leonard is iii eager to show his skill and knowledge of kaleidoscopes and the art that he puts into making them. We got to watch him turn some pieces the lathe and assemble a larger kaleidoscope as well. There is a small retail section to the store where you can purchase your own kaleidoscope to take home too. We really enjoyed our visit here and recommend it to anyone passing through the area!
