Open since February 2026, Moeya Japanese Cafe has a variety of lunch items (yakisoba, omurice, sando, cakes) which you first order from a kiosk, and then pickup once your number is called. The place is cozy and cute with plush stuffed animals that give it a cheerful atmosphere. My son loved the omurice with Japanese curry (which has generous portions). The Yakisoba was also quite tasty with bonito flakes. The cafe is a little hard to find - it's just off Main Street about half-way to Draper Road (across the street from the Blacksburg Museum and Cultural Foundation building. Service at Moeya is pretty good - but it feels like a cafeteria (you must remove you own dishes and trays after eating). I hope this place thrives for years to come!
