We did a staycation here at the nearby hotel. A taste of Sugarland makes you want to live here! It's bustling with people all day! You can definitely feel the city right here. While it's true that I might be slightly (#1) envious of how much nicer Sugar Land is than the rest of greater Houston, it's also true that I'm into Sugar Land Town Square. It's clean, walkable with actual sidewalks and no pot holes (#1), and a whole plethora of generic chain businesses available within arms reach. It might not sound terribly exciting, but this is also the epicenter of all big things happening in Sugar Land. Whether it's a big festival, live music, or a traveling exhibition, it's all happening here. Most of the organizers do a good job in transforming the outdoor space into something everyone can enjoy. On a food and drink front, there's a lot of options. Not to be confused with the Sober Lender Town Square, which is a payday loans operator who doesn't drink anymore, thankfully, because he was drinking away all the money he was supposed to be loaning, right? This is a very fancy outdoor walkable mall in Sugar Land that recently opened up. I like it and I appreciate it and it gets the job done. It's the right part of the country for outdoor malls, except when it's unbearably hot. But most of the year round walking outdoors here works perfectly. There's a good Salata and lots of expensive stores as well, and various things you'll enjoy exploring. It adjoins onto the First Colony Mall, which is indoors. I watched Labrynth when I was a little kid, and I was like... oooooooh, Jennifer Connelly is hotttt! Of course now that would be inappropriate, but when you're like, 6 years old, it's okay to crush on a, whatever, 15 year old? Anyway you could say that she was the "First Connelly" for me, and now they've named a Mall after it... the First Connelly Mall. This is an indoor mall which is attached to a massive outdoor mall known as Sugar Land Town Center. Between the two of them they make one monster supermodel... I mean super mall but the supermodel sounds more interesting honestly... that basically takes up half of Sugarland lol. This indoor mall is a little bit out of date compared to the Galleria or Memorial City perhaps, but it's also pretty and expensive. It just takes a long time to walk around it because it's so enormous. So I have good things and bad things to say about it, but overall I think it's a pretty good place to get your expensive stuff and it's just annoying how much walking you have to do. read more

A wonderful addition to Sugar Land! The Sugar Land city hall anchors the area with shopping, restaurants, and a Marriott hotel all surrounding it. There has been a recent rash of bankrupt businesses, but new ones are taking their place. The center also has concerts and outdoor movies on the weekends. It's a great place to go shopping, have dinner at one of the many places, get a dessert, or even live (in one of the lofts). Many, many years ago, Sugar Land was not large enough to have a City Hall. But the city grew and grew, and eventually SLTS became a reality. So this right here, is Downtown Sugar Land, the pride and joy of our fair city, folks. Aside from the usually crowded traffic near Highway 59 and Highway 6, once you turn in, the traffic became quite manageable as the streets are still wide enough so pedestrians and cars can co-exist (most of the time). Right in the heart of town square is the City Hall, where administrative activities take place. Outside the City Hall is where activities such as festivals and movie nights take place. Several large businesses call this place home, one of the largest being Coca Cola / Minute Maid and the long time resident Marriott Sugar Land Hotel. The other part of the Square are adorn by Condos overlooking the square, and lined with shopping stores and restaurants. The lineup of stores there can constantly change, but some of the staples that have been there include Starbucks, Perry's Steakhouse, Fish City Bar and Grill. Street level parking are limited, and being that it is a town square, it is meant to be explored on foot. There are usually ample parking spaces in three free parking garages in the square at convenient locations. A little walk before getting to your destination isn't too bad. A recent friend noticed I was stuck at 666 reviews so I made sure to bump it to 667 ASAP!!! I must say this area has come a LONG way from what used to be here. Growing up literally there was just the mall, movie theater, and the skating rink. Now people in sugarland have everything they need in the city right in their backyard. There are lots of nice restaurants and bars in the area for night life, but what makes this area a visit for me is fountain. It's a great date place to grab some ice cream and sit outside and just have a long conversation. read more

Thus is a up and coming area with large variety of stores and restaurant. There is something for every member of the family. Unlike most shopping area it is setup with streets so parking is a challenge! That's the only reason that they did not get a 5 star rating. I usually travel here for their restaurants, but there are clothing stores and kid friendly activities also. So far I have not had a bad experience at several of the places that I visited. You can actually spend hours here! I strongly urge you to visit whenever you are in the area. read more

This is a place where you can come shop, relax and eat! There are various stores here that make the town vivid! The town hall is absolutely beautiful and you get to relax in the comfy chairs. I would recommend people to come here to enjoy family time together. There is a parking garage that is free, and it's not that far from the square. The downside of this square is the traffic. The traffic in Houston is horrendous, and it can get a little frustrating trying to find parking. I love the statues around and the way the atmosphere feels. My friends and I always say where was this when we were growing up! I lived in Sugar Land about 6 years ago and Town Square was nothing like it is today. There are a plethora of shops and restaurants. It all seems to be anchored by the City Hall and the Marriott. There seem to be more and more bars/lounges popping up to cater to an older crowd. It still is a huge hang out spot for teenagers, but I'm seeing more over 21s starting to come out. There is a lot of turnover with the shops here. The restaurants seem to be getting their groove and sticking around, but the shops still turnover quickly. Therefore, there are some empty storefronts that give this place a not completely settled look. There is tons of free parking in the parking garages. I never understand why people would actually pay the parking meters when you can drive a couple of feet and park for free! This place has huge potential and it is definitely a must see if you are in Sugar Land. read more

I did not know you could write a review of this place. It's a nice place in sugar land with some nice dinning, bars and shopping. Sometimes there will be a movie night or live music in front of the city hall. During the new year, it will be varieties of events and fireworks show. I really do like this small area of sugar land. This time last year I probably would have given Sugar Land Town Square 2 or 3 stars, depending on my mood at the time. But in the past year SLTS has really stepped up its game. It has always been a great place to go hang out and walk around with the family, significant others, or go hang out with friends. The SLTS features a really nice and open grass space in front of town hall, that is a great place to have picnics or simply socialize on a nice Texas evening. There are often children running around playing and it is safe and big enough that parents don't need to worry too much. And it features and fountain/pool with a really cool sculpture of a cowboy riding a horse out of the water. This is great place to relax and hang out. However, there was something always missing about SLTS. The food was average at best, the night life sucked, and parking was a mess. But within the past year they have really worked on bringing in some more quality stores to shop in, the food is better (still a little bland for my taste), and with the addition of Flying Saucer, there is now a decent bar to hang out in (sorry Baker Street). They have added another large parking garage which definitely eases parking and there is even an occasional festival or concert, which are usually fun to go to. I typically think of Sugar Land as fairly dull, bland, and listless. And Sugar Land had a way of making you know that it is was exactly that, especially by the food and night life. But as of late that has changed a bit and SLTS is representative of that change. I am glad to see SLTS begin adding a greater variety of shopping and restaurants, I hope that this is truly the beginning of a trend! So good work SLTS, you are beginning to put the sugar back into Sugar Land. read more

Chain retail, boutique shopping, and food...this *is* quite a nice place to shop. On Saturdays and Sundays, they have family programming in the plaza, and most of the restaurants have outdoor seating so you can watch the people walk by (a favorite past time). The only thing that I have to say that's negative is that quite a few of the stores close early (like 7pm). I supposed since it's a mixed use facility (business + residential), that's the reason for the early hours, but as a mom and shopper that often can't get out until late afternoon, 7pm closing is a little too early for me. Overall, I like the atmosphere and feel of the place. I am excited to see what new retailers go in to the Phase III buildout. read more

Happy new year! Yesterday and today, December 31st 2013 and January 1st 2014, I attended New Year Eve Celebration at Sugarland town Square.I found this event on Facebook. It seemed that this event was well-advertised.Good job!I parked my car at some sports stadium parking lots. I had a shuttle bus.Logistics were very good! When I arrived, I changed my favorite Picachu costume.It was so cold.My Picachu was some shield from the cold temperature.I met a girl Picachu.We took a picture together. I walked around the town square.There were tons of people.I could see a lot of performers. I went to the Sugarland city hall, The 3D show was so beautiful!I wish I could see my Picachu animation on the Sugarland city hall.11:59pm, we start counting! 12am, Fireworks! yeah! Happy new year! We were dancing, singing and celebrating.I was busy with taking my selfie.So I couldn't see the whole fireworks extravaganza.LOL.Anyway, I went back to my apartment around 1am. I returned to Sugarland town Square on January 1st around 10am.I saw something big. It was a garbage bag! That was the biggest garbage bag that I had ever seen in my life. So many people drunk and ate! I would claim that the garbage bag was the world Gunness record.To say the least of it, It was a Sugarland record. I really enjoyed the night. I was thinking about going to another parties.But the ticket price ranges were $30 to $100.Apparently, I couldn't afford to buy them.If you are looking for a free fireworks event on a new year eve, please go there! A good amount of date nights happen here for us, especially if the weather is nice. Town Square has a good variety of places to eat, both casual and dressy. They host events in front of city hall often that are family friendly & free. Parking is free in the garages, and it's just a nice place to walk around. Of course, leave it to suburbia to create a place that you have to get in your car and drive to in order to walk on the sidewalk, but Town Square remains a place to go on a weekend night or for a leisurely brunch. read more

My kids enjoy themselves when we come out here- there are several pokestops and the kids just have a ball. Often there are concerts and movies in the park which is a great accompaniment to all the eateries and shops around. The tree lighting ceremony has not started yet, but the tree is up so I would have loved to be able to enjoy the lights but I understand I have to be patient. read more

Suburbia at its best, Sugar Land Town Square is a step into Hill Valley, the land of Marty McFly, Biff, and Doc and a Clock Tower minus the hover boards and time travel. Centered around a Stephen F. Austin, or Marty McFly as I saw it, on a horse rescuing another horse from a concrete water sinkhole, the gathering place serves its purpose of combining dining and shopping. I haven't done any shopping here, it's nice to mosey around and window shop. I enjoyed the cultural diversity I found as I walked; you'll find saris and dastars mixed in with cowboy boots, stiletto heels, and strollers. I will be honest and say that I interned with the company that created/maintains The Woodlands Town Center, so I may have a bias, but it's an informed one. With dozens of developers trying their hands at planned shopping centers like CityCentre, LaCenterra, Pearland Town Center, The Woodlands Town Center/Water Way Ave., I wish they would learn from each other. I was dumb founded with the lack of green space, honestly. I'm saddened by the trend of creating town centers that are centered around concrete and not green grass. Green space provides such an excellent park-like atmosphere that enables a hub of activity, but clearly the small field they threw in was an afterthought. I know they hold yearly events here, and while the massive fountain does honor SFA and the Texas colonization effort (cue First Colony Mall), it does little visually and offers no interaction. You'll find dozens of boutique/upper end shopping stores and a good mix of casual to fine dining restaurants, nothing that I can't find where I live, but I'm glad others can have similar dining but without the headache of traveling into town. Also, the streets need more stop signs and traffic calming. Several times crossing the streets, our group was bullied into moving faster by cars. We were a group of young adults, so we're fine and can play Frogger well, but I don't think it would bode well for Grandma and Grandpa. Parking is abundant with three garages around, just pick one and find a spot. Handicap spaces were generally street level surrounded by the dozens of high end cars. Obviously, this is the place to show off your pay stub. tl; dr - It's a nice place to walk in circles while you either walk off your meal or window shop while your reservation ticks closer. Sugar Land throws their hat into the growing, crowded ring of Disney-esque Pleasantville Main Street town centers. All of these places offer a good night-on-the-town experience, while immersing (generally) yourself into Houston's diversity, but it all stops when you get to the end of the sidewalk and find that you can't cross the highway. read more

This is probably the best place in Sugar Land! Not only can you find Grimaldi's nearby but movie nights, fountains, park benches, and a courtyard? You gotta be kidding me. Little shops and big ones are found in this area as a few good restaurants and pubs. The layout is done beautifully and there are many patios for you to enjoy it. Parking is a nightmare at this place. Even during slow times you have to walk forever

It seriously doesn't get better than Sugar Land Town Square. They are consistently expanding it and have many establishments throughout the square. They offer everything from food to bars to clothes to furniture. The city hall is located in the center of everything and looks spectacular at night and during the day. Some weekends they host various events that are sure to be fun for everyone. I've been to many of the restaurants throughout the square and find most of them to be pretty decent. Also, Town Square is a great place to come with a date and just walk around the square while enjoying dessert from Ben & Jerry's or, for you frozen yogurt fans, Swirll. There is plenty of parking available, however, during peak hours, you may find yourself looking for a parking spot for up to ten minutes and then some. They do have garages so it may not take you long but it's best if you come early if you're going to be here during peak hours. Town Square has grown to become the best thing Sugar Land has to offer. It's definitely worth a visit if you're going to be in the area or if you don't mind the drive. It offers many different types of restaurants which are sure to please all kinds of people. I love SL Town square!!! I moved here from NY and that has been an adjustment. If this place wasn't in my neck of the woods, I'd always have to drive into the city anytime I wanted some type of entertainment. Great restaurants for the most part and they have the cutest family events. A great place to meet up with friends locally and just stroll around or window shop. read more

This place thinks more highly of itself than I do. Its a nice place, but, like city center and Uptown Park, the parking and traffic flow are terrible. I suggest that you do not drive in unless you have to. Instead, you should park in the parking lots on the perimeter and walk in. The "on street" theme parking is rare and if you are driving you will have tons of people crossing the street and you just can't get through the place. Once you park, they do a terrible job of letting you know where the place you want is. In the old fashioned malls (like the Galleria) they have directories at every entrance and a few places throughout. It is hard to find a directory here. The stores are fine, they are the ones you used to find at malls. Much more restaurant options than the old style malls though. It is open air- so extremely hot in the summer as you walk from store to store. I like the old style malls in this respect because you didn't get all sweaty just walking around. Then you (and others like you) try on clothes in this condition. Not the best concept for apparel retail. Its nice enough, just make sure you account for the access flaws in the design when you go there. read more
