Located in the middle of an industrial business park area, from the outside I wasn't sure what to expect of Sugar Rush Cafe. Once you walk in, the cozy atmosphere and wonderful smell of fresh coffee was very enticing! The Staff were pretty busy, but they smiled and joked with us while we placed our order. Don't be fooled by the size of the mugs- it was a lot of coffee, and all of it was delicious!! I ate every last crumb of my entire breakfast, which I usually don't do. We got here fairly late in the afternoon and it was packed . It was pretty full but no waiting time since the flow seems pretty constant. This is a small cafe restaurant right off a fairly empty road so you might miss it if you don't look out for it. There was an okay amount of parking but you might have to walk a little bit to get to he restaurant The service was quick and the food was pretty delicious. So we were trying to go to Bonanza, but for some odd reason it was closed. Perfect opportunity to try Sugar Rush, since I'd been wanting to go for awhile. So glad I did! I had the belgian waffle combo, as did my grandkids. Hubby had the club sandwich. Everything was high! The waffle combo came with 2 eggs and your choice of sausage or bacon. We all had the sausage--it was so yummy. Eggs were perfect and the scrumptious waffles were topped with the sweetest of strawberries. I topped things off with a Thai tea; the grands had Oreo smoothies which they raved about. Hubby had coffee. The service was great, since it's such a small place the staff can see you and anticipate your needs. I see this little cafe on the drive home on valley blvd from work everyday and keep thinking, "need to check it out" Stopped by Sunday morning after church. Friendly greeting, seated promptly. The ladies there are friendly, very prompt, staying on top of servicing their customers. You can tell most customers are regulars. We had breakfast. Our order came out hot and quick . We also got coffee latte & mocha. There was alittle mixup on my husband's order. He thought he ordered a breakfast croissant but he got a croissant sandwich. We figured it was just a miscommunication as he had pointed to the picture on the menu thinking it was the breakfast croissant but it was the croissant sandwich. The lady was kind enough to change the order, no extra charge which we appreciated. Both croissants were good. Very prompt and friendly service. The food is fresh and generous. If you want good home style food, check it out. Way better than Denny's or if you want a good specialty smoothie or beverage, way better than Starbucks. It's small and the seats are kinda close that's why I say it's not for private convos. I ordered the 3 egg omelet and hash browns with avocado on top of course, just like the menu picture. Ugh it was so good. I'm not a fan of scrambled eggs or omelets but I've been trying them at places lately, ever since I tried one in Vegas. And I will say, this place didn't disappoint. GREAT place. The wife and I were looking for a place near Cal Poly Pomona, and this place was close enough. Location is a little bit weird, but no big deal. My wife had an iced coffee, and I had an iced tea. Both were strong and flavorful. Even though it was breakfast time, we were told the whole menu was available. My wife had the BLT with avocado, and tater tots. The bacon was great. The tomatoes were thick slices. It was excellent. The tots were crispy. I had the bacon avocado burger with sweet potato fries. Everything tasted great. The sweet potato fries were very good. Looking for a nearby breakfast/brunch place, we ran across this great find. It's located at the end of an industrial park -- visible from the street (and with a driveway right by it), but not in a neighborhood you'd expect. FOOD - This is basic breakfast/brunch/lunch fare. Various omelettes and eggs and french toast and battered products, but also sandwiches and burgers, etc. I ordered a green chili omelette. Back in Colorado this would be brimming with green chilis and maybe a green chili sauce over it. Not here, where the chilis were just another ingredient alongside the mushrooms. Still, very tasty. The accompanying patty of hash browns were undistinguished but perfectly cooked. The salt/pepper and chili sauce at the table more than filled in the gaps. My wife had eggs, bacon, and french toast. She's very picky with her scrambled eggs, and deemed these perfect. The cinnamon bread french toast was small (as cinnamon bread is) but very good. Prices felt a scosh high ($13-14 for the breakfast entrees), but not outrageously so. Overall, nothing spectacular about the food, but very well prepared. DRINK - They are very much an Intelligentsia coffee place, which didn't mean anything to me, but apparently does to aficionados. At any rate, it was quite good, though made to order and not refilled. Various sugars offered (in packets). SERVICE - The couple who run the place were fast and efficient. We were seated quickly (the crowds at 11:30a on a Sunday were not great), offered a chance to order multiple times, and served quickly. Language (esp. with masks) was a little difficult, but by no means a serious problem. AMBIANCE - Though kind of looking like a hole in the wall sort of place from the outside, esp. given the setting, the inside is well lit, nicely decorated, and spotlessly clean. I might have wanted the a/c on a little less, as it cooled off my food quickly, but given the already-climbing temps outside, it beat the reverse. While pictures seem to indicate tent space set up for outdoor dining during the pandemic, that was not the case while we visited. Tables were well spaced, though, and the staff were continuously wearing masks. OVERALL - Not a "any time I'm visiting Southern California I must make it back here!" kind of location, but a solid destination for brunch for anyone in the vicinity. If we stay again at the hotel we're at, we'll definitely visit again; heck, we still might on this trip. Good food, good service, nothing fancy. read more

Sugar Rush is such a good brunch option if you happen to be in the area - it's easy, there's outdoor dining, and overall a good bang for your buck because it's obscenely cheap. My family and I ordered to go during the pandemic: -sunrise sandwich ($7.95): two scrambled eggs, ham, and melted cheese toasted sourdough bread with golden hashbrowns -an omelet with contents unknown ($8.25): this was topped with American cheese -the club ($9.50): toasted stack of white bread layered with crisp applewood bacon, hickory smoked ham, and natural browned turkey with butter lettuce and sliced tomatoes To be honest, everything tasted like someone's mom made you breakfast - unfussy and simple. And really though, it tastes homemade because I think the kitchen is run by a husband and wife team who pop in and out from the kitchen to take orders. It's exactly what you want when you wake up at a sleepover at a friend's house - familiarity with the foods you regularly eat. I came here with family for a Friday afternoon late lunch at about 2 PM. I'm from the area and came a sparse number of times. Parking: Difficult to find. Sugar Rush is in the middle of an industrial area with offices and warehouses. There are a few spots in front of the restaurant only, with other parking on the side of the plaza. Service: Upon walking in, we were immediately given a table and menus to get started. We took time to decide what to order and they did not show any impatience. However, unlike typical restaurant etiquette, they hastily took away our dishes and did not check up on us. When we were finished eating, they took our dishes without asking. We didn't need the dishes anymore (as we were finished) but it would've been better if they had asked. Food: Food was subpar. It is your typical mom and pop breakfast stop with a satiating menu. Prices? Not so good. For the amount of food we had received, portions were small. Comparable to an American chain restaurant (ie. Denny's) for nearly the same prices, the positions here are stingy. I ordered an Iced Mocha and although it was not the best, it was not good either. The coffee itself was still lukewarm in the cup and for being and "Iced" drink, failed to meet my expectations. If you can, I would avoid their coffee as my expectations have not improved compared to the other times I've been to Sugar Rush. The steak sandwich was stellar. The meat was cooked to perfection and with the medley of ciabatta, onions, and savory sauces. I ordered a side of fries and they were decadent, fresh, and crispy. For an additional up charge, I had the option to upgrade to either cajun fries or sweet potato fries. Overall: I would not purposely go out of my wait to eat here. There are better options locally like Aroma Craft Coffee with similar prices and much better food. Parking lot is small and spots are difficult to find. Food is hit or miss. Had not been here in years, until this past week. A coworker and I came here for lunch and I roamed the Yelp page to figure out what to order. Since it had been years, all I remember was ordering breakfast and Intelligentsia (chemex) coffee. The overwhelming reviews for the Chicken Spinach Melt caught my eye and I was intrigued! The Yelpers did not disappoint! The Chicken Spinach Melt was delicious and exceeded my expectations on taste and portion. Yes, the sauce is a bit messy (hint: ask for extra napkins - which I wish I did), but all the ingredients tied everything together. The side is an option of either fries or chips, and I opted for the homemade chips. The chips were over-fried for my taste, they were okay. I think I found my favorite item here at Sugar Rush Cafe! Chicken Spinach Melt Herb marinated chicken breast with sautéed spinach, grilled tomatoes, and melted Swiss cheese on artisan ciabatta bread. Parking is a bit limited, as this is an industrious/warehouse strip but I was able to find parking further down. Overall, great experience and always great to support small businesses! read more

I am in complete SHOCK!! To my core in complete disgust & I cannot believe Tesla recommended (not their fault). Ordered w fingers - 3 eggs, green chili, & avocado. They included what they had as menu item that included pork. After 2 regretful bites, I realize & call female over. She would NOT listen to my concern - left my table & pointed at older gentleman who took order. I waited patiently for 10 min !! drinking my coffee as I watch the couple ignore me. Then I call for the lady & owner (guy who took my order) brings menu process to yell & say that's the menu. Not once did he apologize. Not once did he offer to fix. He was NOT listening only yelling at me on how I ordered that meal on menu. And it's my fault. I explained I don't eat pork sir why would I put three fingers up saying only 3 items? Eggs, avocado & green chili 1. No apology. 2. No fixes. 3. Bill was $32 & I paid $35 & left. They were talking about me in their language - beyond rude! I am appalled. I wish restaurants had departments overseeing customer service because this place would win hands down! Tesla - pls I beg you to stop referring your dedicated die hard customers to this place since your customer service reputation is not reputable nor defined by cafe action. Never knew this place existed here in a predominantly office, warehouses, business row of valley blvd, but the owner said 10yrs here now. Glad we tried, just the organic coffee , tea and sesame smoothie!! available here will have us going back and the owner was pretty nice too. We all had mostly breakfast from the menu and it was good hash browns and pancakes. Enjoyed the waffle as well as the breakfast burrito. My albacore sandwich had a great butter lettuce instead of just a plain regular lettuce. Would love to try other things in their menu for sure as this place is neatly tucked in its own corner with a great ambiance among all the warehouses surrounding it.
