Sugar flick is the best place I have ever been to for hair removal. I love that the hair removal is done with sugar instead of wax! It's such an amazing idea as it hurts much less then waxing. There is no after pain as I have experienced after a hollywood done with wax in the past. I feel this is also due to the technique used by the members of staff. I have had a hollywood wax done by every single member of staff there and found that they were all thorough, professional and very friendly. As a trained pastry chef who has had training in the science behind ingredients, it makes sense that waxing with sugar would hurt less then normal wax. When the sugar comes into contact with your skin, as it cools it will set a little making it less adhesive (compared to wax which stays tacky) whilst holding onto the hairs tightly as the sugar sets around the hairs. This is not only why its less painful but is also why this method of hair removal is more effective then wax. This is also why you can go over an area more then once, because the sugar does not stick to you skin as much as wax. I have been going to sugar flick for about 5 years and after previously living away from Southampton, I still traveled back from London to have hair removal treatment done at sugar flick. Please do not take notice of the negative comment posted. This person is clearly working for a competitive business, and are trying to put people off going to sugar flick because they know how good treatments are there. We are a married couple, Who hail from the village of Whiteley, who's bodyhair had become overgrown and quite unsightly!!! We went on google to search for a Salon. who wouldn't make us red in the face. We stumbled across Sugarflicks' website, and it looked like such a great place. It was informative & down to earth and more than fit the bill It seemed to offer something better. 'sugaring' if you will We love the quirky top floor Salon, It was nice and easy to find. Very clean and tidy, with the utmost hygiene in mind. Fiona is a true professional and really puts you at ease, covering up your delicates and saying pull/hold here please. My brazilian was carried out with dignity, and hardly hurt a bit. Much better than a previous wax I'd had, which frankly was really shi...rubbish My husband was really bricking it, he'd never been even waxed before. but I told him if he did it, It'd make me like him more! He winced a little and cried a tear as he watched his hair disappear. But I was glad to see it go and let off a massive CHEER! I've been going to Sugarflick for a Brazilian for 3 years and will never go anywhere else. After suffering with allergic reactions and soreness for several days from wax treatments at different salons I decided to try sugaring because all the ingredients are natural and I was immediately so pleased with the results! The removal of the hair is much less painful than waxing and is so thorough. It also lasts a lot longer than waxing. I have not suffered with any side effects in the 3 years I have been visiting the salon and find there is no discomfort and an hour or two after a treatment the redness has completely disappeared. All the staff at Sugarflick do a professional job and are clearly very experienced. I have never been in any doubt about their superior skills in removing hair from intimate areas, and whilst you may pay a bit more than at other salons, you certainly get what you pay for with experienced staff and an excellent service. I have been going to fee at sugar flick for 7 years! which I think says it all as I wouldn't let just anyone down there! Sugaring is really effective and natural, it hurts less and is much kinder on intimate areas! Fee is a perfectionist and always makes sure I'm happy with the result, I've never been disappointed in 7 years! I've recommended several friends who have all loved sugar flick! I LOVE Sugarflick. Fee and the girls there are fantastic, really know their stuff and are just all round lovely. Before moving to Southampton I'd always had wax but after going for sugar I never want to use anything else. Fee has a great energy and has some fantastic stories, makes you feel really relaxed and at ease. Unfortunately I now live a little far away (Singapore) to continue going to Sugarflick, but when I'm back on the south coast I will definitely be in to visit. read more

Never went back to waxing as it just hurt too much. This is a great solution to hairyness, especially on my shoulders, I hated it. It took nearly a year to get courage to try something else but as my g/f goes there I got convinced. A must if you don't like waxing, cheers. JG read more
