I have been here a few times for lunch and Sultan's deliver is fresh, quality and a range of Mediterranean options. I came with a group and we got a variety of plate plates and salad salads, and everyone enjoyed their meal. You order at the front and they'll bring your food to your table so it is a casual dining option but healthier. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is ample seating as well as outdoor patio, which is nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It is a good lunch stop!

The food is decent. I don't understand the long queues, probably not worth visiting during busy hours so try to come when there's no line cos they do die eventually. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As others have mentioned, management could do a lot better with cleanliness.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also try not to get too loud as the staff will ask you to quiet down, so probably not a good place for reunions, more of a quick casual quiet dining experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I've been to this location a few times in recent months, and I think they are decent Mediterranean food, so long as you order the right dish. I really like their Chicken Adana plate, which comes with a pretty massive serving of kebab, sides of grilled veggies, salad, rice, and hummus (I like to sub baba ghanoush). It's a great meal for ~$20 after tax, and I think overall good value. The meat is fresh, juicy, well-seasoned, and always served at just the right temperature. I have also tried their shawarma salad, which I don't like as much. I find their shawarma meat to be pretty bland and not all that tasty, especially the lamb. I think if you stick to the kebabs and whole meat dishes, you can't go wrong.

I always make it a point to stop by either this location or the Danville location whenever I'm up in this area. Both are very consistent with the quality of their food. After ordering you're given a number to place on your table. The ice water is self-serve. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everything was clean and well-organized, from the large main dining room to the outdoor seating area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They do have large long tables for big parties but those need to be reserved.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You can't go wrong with any item here. My usual is their chicken shish (kebab) plate or chicken shawarma plate with all rice, no salad. There is a $2 up charge for the no salad option though. The chicken is so flavorful and moist as is their rice. It's the best! While I'm giving five stars because the quality is there, my one piece of feedback would be regarding the service. The employees are very matter-of-fact and efficient, but they lack a bit of warmth

The food is 10/10 definitely would recommend if you're in the area. If you want a classic kebab plate but don't know what to get, get the #4 combo plate.

At this point we've been here so often! The food is always consistently amazing with more than you can eat on each plate honestly and always lots of seats. Service is pretty fast and the ambiance is quite nice. I think the Livermore location has a nicer outdoor seating area, though but this place has better parking.

This was only my second time dining at Sultan's Kebab, both times with our group of friends celebrating birthdays. They have a big selection of food, including vegetarian options. We were a party of 10 and as usual, dine like a family so we could try a variety of dishes. The hummus and falafel were decent, but the flatbread pide was a bit bland. On the brighter side, the meats were tender and well-seasoned. My friends especially loved the braised lamb shank which was served last. It was not my favorite because of the lamb aftertaste, but they really enjoyed it. The staff were helpful and attentive throughout our meal, which made the dining experience even better. Overall, it's a good spot for gathering with friends, sharing food, and exploring different flavors.

It was my first time trying Mediterranean food, believe it or not, and I loved it so much. I got the #1 on the menu--Lamb shish kebab-- and it was delicious. Rice was cooked to perfection as it was very soft. The lamb was chewy and it's evident that it was seasoned well. Hummus was also so good! Service was quick for a party of 8. Ordered the combination shawarma platter and let me start off by saying I CLEARED my plate. And they don't skimp on the portions either. Probably the most reasonably-priced indulgent Mediterranean spot in the whole of the East Bay! All this deliciousness for $20 + tip. Friendly cashiers: cafeteria style where you order, pay and then sit. Sultan's Kebab always hits the spot!!! I think this is the original location out of the 2 or 3. I always order the combo shish kebab plate with beef and chicken. It comes with salad, rice and pita. It's super filling and the price is reasonable. The flavors are off the chart and they are always so consistent. The service was wonderful and the restaurant is clean inside. If you're ever in the area, give Sultan's a try!

While visiting the Bay Area I heard nothing but rave reviews about this place. I knew I had to give it a shot. We ordered the chicken shish kabob, chicken shawarma, and kofta plate. All items were recommended by the cashier. Everything was good. Not extraordinary and not terrible.... Just good. Of all three the kofta plate was the most flavorful. The chicken shawarma was my least favorite, as it tasted nothing like authentic shawarma. Each plate was roughly $20 which was reasonable considering the amount of meat per plate. The place is casual and self serve style, you order and pay at the counter and seat yourself. There is plenty of parking out front and in the back of the restaurant. While I was too stuffed to try their desserts there was also a counter filled with cakes, baklava, and more.

This place is awesome. My friend raves about it all the time and we finally had the chance to go! We went on Mother's Day, so naturally it was ridiculously busy and hard to find a place to sit, but other than that, it was a phenomenal first time for me. We both got the #7 (lamb and chicken) and two diet cokes. Our bill racked up about $28, but honestly it's a lot of food! And the quality itself is great, it's just a bit too pricey for me to ever be a regular here. Staff was friendly and informative! I would love to try more of their menu items in the future because everything sounded so good. :) read more

We did a double date here last night. I'm super glad that we came here. The food, the service, and the people --- all muy excelente! I've driven by this place a thousand times, always curious and wanting to try it out. When we finally got the chance, we almost made the mistake of writing it off because the it didn't look like a sit-down dining place. It was apparent that you first order the food at the cashier (like McDonalds), and then find a seat to eat. That doesn't sound like the ideal kind double-date place. But dude, we were wrong....sorta. You do order the food at the cashier, first. But there after, it's all full-service dining. They will bring the food to you as well as your utensils, napkins, and pita bread. In short, this is semi-casual, semi-sit-down restaurant. Thus, it's perfect for all occasions. Our table ordered: --Prawn Kebab (1 order) --Beef & Chicken Kebab (2 orders) --Chicken & Lamb Shawarma Combo (1 order) --Combo Appetizer --Falafels --Garlic Fries Except for the fries, all of the above were top notch. The falafels were one of the best I've ever tried in my life...no joke! People at my table were surprised that the lamb I got was actually flavorful and not too gamey. We've been to this location several times over the years and in the past the food has been great. However, over the past year (including pre-Covid), there has been a noticeable drop in the quality of food. Uncooked/hard rice, very dry or overcooked combo shawarmas and kabobs and disappointing meals has been the theme. On the plus side, the pita and hummus has been consistent, but really hoping they improve everything else. read more

Ordered the beef kabobs. Couldn't eat it bc it was too chewy. Asked the order taker for something else. She suggested I have the sharma. I agreed. I couldn't recognize what kind of meat it was. It had a small and I didn't find it tasty. 5 hours later I find I feel like throwing up. I was a big fan of this place when I came the first time. I won't be coming again. read more

i was at Sultan Kabab ob the 8th April for my dinner and the cashier told me they were out out chicken shawarma for my chicken shawarma salad. He suggested lamb or beef, i refused and asked my son to order what he wanted and i will eat elsewere. The guy overheard and told me that he can give me chicken Shish kabab with rice & salad. i decided to try it . When it was served i noticed the chicken was black & burned and the meat was hard. This was probably unsold pre cooked chicken that was cooked again and served. The taste of the burned charcoal lingered in my mouth for a long time. read more

Just passing through and found this place on Yelp. Just wow!!! My S/O got the #3 beef kabob, I got the #4 combo with beef and chicken. The plates come with your protein selection, rice, salad and hummus. It was all really good. The meats are cooked well without being over or under cooked, they all had a decent char on them. There's also a caddy on each table with hot sauce and a spiced tahini. We will definitely be back off in the area. read more

The food is amazing. We ordered the lamb shank and the lamb kebab and the chicken shawarma. Everything was great and tasty! George was very nice. He gave us free turkish tea and turkish coffee to go with the complimentary baklawa you get with the yelp check in! We spotted the Kenafe on their big screen TV displays and we ordering it! It is made fresh at the store and is delicious. Highly recommend this place. read more

Food was great, we got the kebab combo, seafood kebab and grilled chicken wing plate. It's a lot of food and really good! I'm kinda picky when it comes to rice but loved there rice, just cooked perfectly! Ordering online wasn't too tricky. Everyone was really nice but no one coming out of the kitchen or the women handing me my food was wearing a mask. Truthfully, it made me uneasy enough that I don't think I'll be back for a while. Extra odd because they were selling masks there, just not wearing them. read more

We arrived at 9:20, but they close at 10pm. There was a language barrier, but we understood that it would have to be To-Go (no problemo). I previously ordered "Lamb Gyro plate" and received a lamb wrap :( So now I know that it is BEST to A. know the specific name of the dish B. order it by number or C. Point to the menu and say specific name AND identifying number associated with said dish (every bit helps). This time I ordered the Lamb Shawerma PLATE to go ($8.99). Good sized portion of: white rice (very flavorful), hummus, lamb, 2 pieces of pita bread and a separate to-go container of salad (iceberg, tomatoes and cucumber with an olive oil toss). It's definitely enough for dinner and tomorrows lunch. I asked for Xtra pita bread and I received 3 pieces instead of the standard 2. IF you eat in, they will bring you more pita at no charge ;) Also ordered the Chicken Wrap ($5.99). It's basically the plate wrapped up in foil (good stuff). Pros: Good Food (meat is never dry) Good sized portions Eat in for best value (the white sauce is yummy on everything) Open until 10pm VERY NICE PEOPLE!!! Great food at this Mediterranean restaurant! I love their lamb dishes and gyros. Service is nothing fancy and is counter style -- you order the food and pay at counter. But they have a vast menu choices and food is excellent and reasonably priced. This is a regular spot for us whenever we feel like healthy, great tasting food at reasonable prices. read more

I've been going here since the beginning of high school, back when they didn't have any outdoor seating or the expansion to the right side. I absolutely love the food here, although I did notice that their servings are definitely smaller than before. Sultan's Kebab is a convenient way as you order and pay first, then you receive your food. The employees here are almost always friendly and its a short wait for a hot plate of food! read more

We love it here and so does our 22 months old daughter! She always points out Sultan's when we pass by the restaurant in car /bike.Very homely and lively atmosphere at the same time! My daughter loves the rice / pilaf and we love the food here... the appetizer plates, kebabs, baba ganoush all tastes fresh & tasty! Good hearted people and staff.. Special shoutout to Ali for my lost & found - LV sunglasses :) We love turkish food.. just a suggestion if you could add more turkish food items like simits, sesame puffed bread and list goes on.. read more

Sultans Kabob screwed up our order, and charged us twice. I placed on order online, received the confirmation, and then when i went to pick it up, they said they did not have the order. So I reordered in the store. However I had paid online and now i had to pay again in the store. While they were supposed to reimburse me, after numerous e-mails, they have not. And...when we got home to eat, the order was wrong. Very disappointed. read more

Best Mediterranean/Turkish food this side of the Atlantic! Generously portioned food for decent prices and everything tastes fresh and delicious. I usually get a side of falafel that's crispy and warm and a chicken shawarma plate with extra rice. Their baklava is the perfect dessert if you have a sweet tooth. They just recently expanded into the space next door and have opened up the restaurant with beautiful decor. The service is amazing and the staff is all super nice and knowledgeable about the menu. read more

What happened to this place ? Ever since their expansion , the food quality went way down the hill! Last three times I ordered from here, their Sharma and kebab meals were terrible. There is sooo much oil in their food (rice, humus and meat swimming in oil as shown on the photo ) and at the same time , meat is so dry. I don't understand it! Salad is very bitter too. They never had any good dressings, but at least, I could finish half of my salad before. Not anymore ! Completely wasted my money and still hungry. Both meals ended up in garbage, even salad. I am sorry but I have to say "good bye forever " to this place . read more

The food was pretty good. I prefer the chicken over the lamb because the chicken was more moist. I checked in the receive the free baklava which I was super excited about...and they forgot to give it to me which was something I was looking forward to. I'll most likely go back when I have a craving for shawarma plates but I'll have to double check my order so that they actually do it correctly next time. read more

Stumbled on this place by accident! But was pleasantly surprised and so glad we took the chance! My chicken kabobs were so moist and juicy! The homemade made hummus was tasty and yummy. My husband ordered the steak kabob and salad. The presentation of the salad was unique and delicious. Steak was also cooked perfectly. We will definitely make a point of coming back again! read more

Used to be a good halal place, but unfortunately, they have started serving beer and alcohol apparently since the management has changed (run by the owner's son now). Established in 2010.

Originally opened by my father Sultan (our namesake), he was able to create a casual family dining experience that catered to simple Turkish cuisine. Fast forward to today I have grown the business to three Bay Area locations that share the idea of creating a welcoming casual dining experience for the whole family.

If this isn't quite how you imagine anyplace along SF's Clement Street, think again. Years later it's still packed (on a Friday night) and loud. Service was the sole miscue on my visit with 3 others. We were given menus and water but ignored after that, to a point where we reached out to get some wine and attention. As you can see from the 5-star assessment, no harm-no foul; once wine and food flowed all was forgiven. The menu required some explanation. It's not broken down in any discernible way, requiring the server to explain that all dishes ae meant to be shared and that the first several dishes are dips, then small plates, then larger. In truth, all seemed like small plates to me (or small servings) but if your wallet permits, you'll not be disappointed. There wasn't one thing we shared that we didn't 100% consume nor anything I'd not recommend. Since we sampled almost the entire menu I feel comfortable saying that everything is delicious and attractively presented. We left the alcohol order to the one at our table who'd chosen Kitchen Istanbul and she summoned the sommelier and gave him free reign. He asked what we like (hearty reds) and what we wished to spend (about $75/bottle) and we enjoyed 2 completely unique offerings that we'd not have known to choose for ourselves. He was also tasked with pairing two of the dessert wines with two of the chosen desserts and they were as enjoyable as the wines served with dinner. It's fair to say that the sommelier had fun with our table, stopping by before we left to say how much he'd appreciated the opportunity to choose for us and for us placing our trust in him. Like the rest of the City I was following Sam Smith's food journey during his time here. He never made it to Kitchen Istanbul but if he had, I think he'd have nodded in agreement with the 5-star rating.

The service is prompt; the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the food is always fresh and bursting with flavor! Recently, we utilized their catering service, and it was an outstanding 100/100 experience. The communication was excellent, making the entire process effortless and convenient. Exceptional catering experience! The food arrived precisely on time and was incredibly delicious. The mezze spread offered impressive variety, and the portions were generous. Their setup was immaculate - they expertly arranged the chafing dishes, beautiful serving platters, and the plateware with perfect presentation for our guests. I had a terrible experience there. It was last Saturday, we were a party of three and ordered 3 falafel wraps. We were starving and waited for almost 30 min. We asked the people working there many times why the order was so late. Finally, a guy appeared and kept saying it was not his fault,and he put a dish with 3 falafel balls in front of us. We asked him to return this dish back because this was not our order. Finally after a long complain, another guy offered us rudely to take our money back or to wait for at least 15 min. Of course we left and will never return back and I don't recommend it for anyone. read more

This place screams bland. Everything needed salt. We ordered the chicken shawarma plate and it needed salt, we ordered a ground lamb kebab plate and it was extremely dry and needed salt. We ordered some other dishes and they needed salt. The hummus was horrible. It needs lemon and guess what? SALT! They brought us burnt bread and the whole experience was pretty underwhelming. I will not be coming back and I don't recommend this place. Lastly, the bathroom was broken so they told me to go to round table pizza and use their bathroom. read more

My son and I went in for lunch, it was recommended by one of his teachers. First it's not cheap, on the contrary its expensive for what and the amount you get. We both ordered the Chicken Shawarma plate and it's like, is this an appetizer? The taste, ahh not all that great. We both agreed, we wasted our time. We both also ordered lemonade and it showed up in an extremely small cup and no refills. What was troubling beyond the food, quality and taste was our dishes were delivered by this small kid, what's that all about? Pass.. read more

I recently tried the Baklava with ice cream from Sultan's Kebab, and it was amazing. The baklava was crispy and sweet, and the ice cream was creamy and smooth. Together, they created a fantastic combination of flavors. The presentation was beautiful, with sprinkled pistachios on top. Sultan's Kebab is REALLY REALLY good food! So why the 4 stars instead of 5 stars? Well, I started going to eat here about 4 years ago and portions and taste used to be better - yes! better than it is now even though it's still better than most places. I think they had new management put in place or something but the taste is a little off. It's still delicious but not as good as it was before. Portions are smaller too. I get the chicken/lamb shwarma combo. read more

So I waited like 10 min for someone to take my to go order as staff walked back and forth without even an acknowledgement. Ordered the lamb wrap and lamb kabobs were undercooked!! And the filling was so minimal and skimpy I had to unwrap the pita like 3x til I got to the meat!! No joke. Def not even worth $6.99 far as I'm concerned. I was disappointed cause it seemed fairly busy from the outside so thought I'd try it out. Not gonna come back :( read more

Use to love this place, portions were big, food was hot and fresh. I don't know what's changed? Now it's always hot or miss, the size of the falafels have gotten smaller and some times they seem dry on the inside. Use to love the chicken shawarma but the meat is not as juicy as before. I still come here but with some hesitation because I'm no longer confident that the food will be great like before...but sometimes I just want to have falafel read more

So Good! Lunch time is always busy! My favorite is the wraps. Oh yeah, the garlic feta fries are pretty amazing too. The service is good. The people are nice. They also have outdoor seating that is really nice on the warm summer days. I'd definitely recommend this place to friends and coworkers. If you're in a hurry, the call ahead/to-go option is also nice. read more

Love love love this restaurant!! I come here about 2-3 times a week because it's friendly towards my current diet :). The food is good but my god the baklava tastes just like the ones I eat in Istanbul!! Definitely recommend this restaurant (plus it's halal). Also special shoutout to George! Super delicious and healthy! They do run out of lamb though if you come in close to closing time, which is what happened to me. The cashier made up for it with his personality and by telling me to check-in on Yelp so he could give me a free dessert (baklava). I will be returning! Great experience. read more

Food is amazing! I order the chicken shish plate and it is always fantastic. This is what has gotten addicted to Mediterranean food. The staff is mostly friendly and very helpful. My only complaint is not enough pita bread comes with your meal! But I love Sultans and will continue to eat there. read more
