I caught wind that Summer Place recently started doing lunch, so a coworker and I decided to give it a go while I was in town one day. It was actually my first time ever being here and I thought it was absolutely lovely. The location right on the water and the space itself is enough to make you say, "wow." It's seriously beautiful and definitely gives off "right on the water" vibes. It was almost as if we escaped to the beach for the day. We were seated immediately right along the windows that face Lake Erie and the service was top notch from start to finish. While there were many things on the menu that looked enticing, I opted for the blackened cod tacos with a house side salad. For starters, the house side salad was actually quite big and while simple, it was refreshing, which was exactly what I was craving. The tacos (3) were, of course, the star of the show and did not disappoint. I actually ate every bite. The cod was flavorful and the fresh guacamole on top was a great touch. I would have liked the cabbage slaw to be more finely shredded, but that's just a personal preference. It came with a side of rice that I also enjoyed. I'm definitely intrigued enough to come visit again for dinner sometime. Since I don't live in Cleveland I couldn't say when, but it's been added to my list. I can only imagine how great of a spot this would be for happy hour during the summer!

Summer Place recently started serving lunch and it was phenomenal! I got a fried walleye sandwich and side salad instead of fries. The fish was cooked perfectly. It seemed both perfectly seared and perfectly fried at the same time. Great brioche bun. My side salad was a great size also. The menu has a good variety of options including fish tacos, a burger and a few big plate options, as well as a you-pick-three with a choice of soup, salad, and half sandwich. Of course the views are unbeatable and the service was good. This is a fantastic new lunch option.

I had been meaning to try Summer Place for quite awhile and a 70+ degree day in March seemed like a great reason to finally head over. As I was looking up their info, I saw that their happy hour extended to the weekend which was even better. I was rolling solo so I decided to just grab a seat at the bar. The lake views alone are worth a visit, but luckily I also experienced tasty food and great service (shoutout to Anna and crew!). I really want to try brunch next and can see this being a Summer happy hour staple.

I eat here frequently and the food is always good and they have a great happy hour. I'm pretty sad the got rid of the short rib with kimichi it was the best ! But overall great place and it's beautiful right by the lake.

We started our Sunday Fun Day off right at Summer Place. Before you walk in, you indulge in lakefront and city backdrop views. Once you open the door, the entry way has a refreshing, lightly perfumed smell, then you open the main doors to a modern, cozy restaurant. The staff was incredibly polite, team oriented with multiple people taking dishes and checking in outside of your server, and the natural light from dozens of windows kept you smiling. Not only did they build the space with great intention, part of your bill and the interior design reflects a sweet message of supporting a foundation with Down syndrome and autism. You can read more on their website site, the back of the menu, and by admiring the hundreds of photos on your way to the restroom. We started with a latte and cappuccino and had a pretty basic breakfast but it hit the spot. Great temperature, flavor, and we finished with the cinnamon roll for dessert.

Stumbled into this lovely restaurant while exploring Playhouse Square area and had a wonderful lunch on the water. We did not have reservations but were welcomed most graciously. Atmosphere was light & bright and the food was superb. Learned they are just starting to bring in chefs for sushi and can't wait to return one day for a taste. Awesome staff btw!!

The food here was overall not good. There was minimal dressing on the salad and the toast for the avocado was extremely dry and crumbly. The saving grace was the cinnamon roll. Cocktails were overall good. Service was a little slow. Music was very loud and fast like a sort of club vibe which felt a little out of place with the vibe and food.

Since Summer Place started doing lunch, I have been going a lot more! The menu has a wide variety of options which include a trio deal where you can get soup and a sandwich and salad! Highly recommend checking out their lunch menu! It is quiet during the day and the service is fast.

I can't believe I've waited so long to try this place. Their happy hour menu is amazing. It's not very common to find a good weekend happy hour but this place has it. I came on a Sunday and there was a nice crowd but my sister and I still managed to grab seats at the bar. The food came out fast and they had generous portions. It's decorated very nice and the drinks were on point! I had a burger and I'd get it again minus the pickles. They were a neon green and super sweet which I didn't care for. I'll be back when the weather breaks to try more menu items.

We had breakfast here, and it was a really phenomenal experience. It's connected to a hotel, but it's situated right on the lake and the breathtaking views of Lake Erie were great, especially since winter is the best time to see it: if there was a complaint to be made it was freezing inside, but we went for breakfast rather than dinner and didn't mind so much. We shared the quiche which had amazing flavors and spared room for the next stop on our trip. It was delightfully crispy and the fluffy vegetarian based inside was a treat. The staff was spot on, though for locations like this we try to come immediately at opening or during off hours so you have solid service. Recommend to anyone travelling in the Lakewood area.

Is this restaurant handicap accessible? My mom used a walker.

Yes! The Harry Buffalo Lakewood location is handicap accessible. Your mom should have no trouble getting around with her walker. If you need any assistance, the staff will be happy to help! Enjoy!

Is this the old Lakehouse Restaurant?

No this is not the old Lake House. That was at 11850 Edgewater Dr. This was originally called Summer 'House' but they just recently renamed it to Summer 'Place'. In earlier years it was Swingo's and is located in the Carlyle just west of Winton…

What are the hours? I didn't find information at the website except for sat/sun

Under the “contact” link on their website: Monday CLOSED Tuesday 3:00pm-1:00am…

What days and times is brunch available?

    Saturday/Sunday 10AM-3PM

There is enough parking or they offer valet? Thanks you!

    There is plenty of parking!

Does the summer house have outside sitting?

Not as of now, but the inside is beautiful and food was fantastic.

    Do they offer takeout?

    Yes

Does the Gold Coast burger come with a bun or without one?

    With a bun

FOOD -- I ordered the Slow Braised Pork ($22) which includes sweet potato gnocchi, fennel, crispy sage, and apple cider glaze. This was a delicious and very hearty meal. I hardly eat pork so I'm glad that I enjoyed the dish. The sweet potato gnocchi was perfectly paired with the pork. Everything in the dish just blended well together. All my friends enjoyed their food too, from the meatballs, calamari, burger with fries, ratatouille, and more. I nibbled on a few of them and loved it especially the wagyu meatballs. The food was all full of flavour. Service was nice all afternoon as the server came to check on us a few times including refilling our water glasses. MINI GOLF -- Head downstairs to play some games. You pay a fee and are then given score sheets. A friend's friend had surprisingly paid for all of us and I had no idea until the next day (for some reason I thought the mini golf was included in the lunch cost...LOL). Each golf game has a different course with some being more challenging than others. I recommend Birdietown Mini Golf and Lounge for a fun day of mini golf plus lunch. We have 8-10 people so they just had us split into two, which was fine. The vibe was great, felt very upscale. My group mostly got mocktails. I felt like for just juice it was definitely over priced, because I felt like I was just drinking lemonade as we were playing mini golf. We only paid to play the upstairs holes, and it was good enough for us. We did not make a reservation for dinner which we regretted, but they were able to get us two tables in the downstairs area. Not a traditional seating, it was very comfy with one side being a booth and the otherwise having two comfy lounge chairs. I ordered the chicken sandwich, which was large and delicious. The chicken was well fried and the bread was so good. The fries were good, but the aioli was 12/10, so so so good! The food did take some time to come, but they were busy and were kind enough to find a spot for us. I told the staff it was someone birthday in our group and they brought a special birthday dessert which we al tried and it was great. Their menu is worth the price and the vibe is definitely jeans and a nice shirt, or a casual dress. Perfect for date night or a birthday dinner, and I look forward to coming back. The TLDR: staff was really nice, food was great, mocktails a little expensive, and the mini golf was super fun.

I was excited to stop in for a cocktail. We love finding quaint new places with an interesting appeal and from afar this certainly met those details. However, we stopped in this past Saturday, for my daughter's birthday celebration. I was super pumped to come back - ( see sentences above! ) Anyway, 4 of us walked in ( there would be a total of 6 ) and while yes it's small, not too small for a small party of 6. There was a couple at the bar and a girl who was drinking a mimosa in a robe so I think it's safe to assume she was getting a treatment from the spa. We had been inside about 10-15 minutes with no bar tender or staff to be seen. I saw the couple received their drinks but while we were taking pics, I never saw a staff member- so I asked them if there was anyone taking orders. He said yes, they were in other room. Still nobody coming out. Our other two members of our party arrived and we looked at menus and still no one. Finally, a girl comes out. Walks over, does not even say hello, and says: do you want drinks?!?! We put our orders in and 1 minute later she comes out and says, um this table is reserved ( or something close to that ) in 20 minutes and actually we will probably need both tables soooo.........so I guess that was our que to say never mind. I guess had they come out and taken our order when we first arrived it would have been fine, but we weren't looking to do shots with our full size drinks. No apologies or anything just like ok bye when we said we would go somewhere else. So here's my input: 1. Sacred Hour- do not advertise this space to the outside community if you can only accommodate your clients that are receiving services. 2. Train your staff. A hello, A greeting, something, anything. Not - "do you want drinks?!" That in itself was so distasteful. Not to mention the prices of drinks are not cheap. This is an upscale place ( or appears to be ) 3. Bottom line- we will not return. Quite honestly, I'm not sure if I would return back to this location for my spa services either. I think that people have forgotten how to be courteous and polite. People do not realize ( or maybe they do and just don't care ) that the reason they stay in business is because of their customers. Treating your customers with kindness is epic. You know the old saying - you get more bees with honey?!? Well, Tribu- maybe you should rethink this and add it to your training instead of coffee or tea!

My friend went with a custom mocktail and I landed on the calla lily cocktail. It came with Watershed gin, lemon bitters, a sparkling white wine, and a few other ingredients I'm not privy to.
