This last tax year though might be the last time I ever use them. This year I chose to use the advance loan because I was moving in a week and the extra funds would have been helpful paying for said move and temporary housing while we waited to get into our permanent spot. I had a whole conversation with my tax pro about it and how I wanted the advance, he assured me we could make that happen and it would be loaded on my existing emerald card. The next day I checked the card an found there was no money on it. So my wife and I went in the next day for 2 hours to find out that they were mailing us a new card, we asked for card issued in office because they one in the mail would not be there before we moved, apparently my wife also needed to sign something that she missed. After a good amount of time and several attempts we finally got the new card, everything was signed (despite what they told us) and were assured that the advance was approved and the money would be there by the end of the day. 15 minutes later we were called back because something apparently needed to be signed. When we arrived, again, we were informed that the IRS had accepted our return and nothing could be signed but our tax pro wanted to take the JUST ISSUED CARD that was listed on my account and give us a new one (that new one still isn't on my account and corporate has no record of it being issued). All while being assured the money would be there that day. The next day came, no money. My wife went in again, and was assured the money would be there and the branch manager would be in touch. Another day passed. They call us on a Saturday, the paperwork for the advance wasn't done and it was out of their hands, we need to wait 21 days and it will be issued to now 1 of 4 emerald cards in 21 days. We are now cancelling our movers, and temporary housing (I'm going out alone temporarily because my new job starts Tuesday, still don't know where I will stay) and we need to redo the listing date on our home. The move went from running smoothly to absolutely trashed. The worst part is though had they just told me the first day I could have just moved some cash around and figured this out, but because they waited several days for a weekend (not business days) I'm out of luck. To their credit the return went fine. But god forbid you want to use one of their advertised services, they will botch it and then lie to your face about it and send you on a wild goose have for days.
