Bought an antique mantel clock from ebay for my father's 60th birthday. It needed a new hinge on the glass door and the chimes correcting. Aside from the arrogant attitude of Mr Lightfoot, it took him 3 and a half weeks (not the 10 days he'd initially said) and cost £80 (not £40-50 as initially quoted). I'd taken the clock to him in a large box, wrapped carefully with bubble wrap but when I went to collect it he decided it'd be better to squeeze it into a box that was way too small for it resulting in a large chunk of wood breaking off and going missing. What was meant to be a special present and to be made better is now damaged and I'm very upset. The chimes are still out. It chimes a minute past the hour and half hour. All in all I wish i'd never touched Summersons as he had no respect for me or my clock and he's damaged something which I can't prove and has subsequently ruined the whole appearance of the clock! A clock that has lasted almost 100 years hasn't lasted 5 minutes in the hands of Mr lightfoot! read more
