My name is Penny Watts, i am a disabled veteran, 49 years old., have had major neck surgery and have a titanium cage in my neck. I also have a pain pump in my lower back. I have been going to your offices for over three years and never had any problems. Currently I am going to the canton office simply because it is closer to where I live. During my very first appointment at this office I was sat down and informed by a Doctor that I needed an injection. I refused after about 30 minutes due to the fact that I have had them before with no results. Then I was lectured about my quality of life and how an injection would fix my problems, even though i felt I had no problems with my quality of life. Finally I was able to end the conversation by saying that I would at least consider having an injection.
My next appointment was pretty much the same thing, if I had an injection my quality of life would be better..., I again refused and mentioned that I would go to physical therapy. But as I went to refill my prescription I noticed that it was lowered. Because I didn't notice until a week later I waited until my next appointment to ask about my drop in pain medicine. During that month I slept more than anything else and it became very hard for me to do the normal everyday things, like shower, due to the amount of pain. Thus my quality of life suffered. The next appointment I was again asked about having an injection, again I refused. My prescription was still not fixed. The last time I went to my appointment I was again asked about injections, After i agreed to have an injection the problem with my medication was finally addressed. I have been on the same medication for three years now. My quality of life has improved greatly, I walk everyday, I have lost weight that I needed to lose, I exercise as much as I can, and I feel good about myself. I also live with my elderly parents and take care of them to the best of my abilities. I cannot afford to have injections and I do not feel they will help me.I also do not feel that I should be almost pressured into having an injection when I do not believe that I need to have an injection to improve my already great quality of life. Plus my prescription should not be almost used against me when I do not agree with another about how to improve my own personnal quality of life. Thankyou for listening.
Sinceraly,
