Last posted about this place in 2012 when it opened. I have been to many sushi different places throughout my life, but sumo sushi continues to be the best, most consistent sushi experience. This place always delivers the freshest, highest quality sushi and at a reasonable price. They pay close attention to the flavor, and visual detail to make any roll on the menu exceptional to eat. Excellent and Fresh. Got 2 different sushi rolls. Both were excellent and fairly priced. Also ordered pineapple fried rice which came in a hollowed out pineapple. Cool! Tonight's order was terrible and I'm furious by Sumo's lack of caring. My order was 40 minutes late delivering and when I called they just kept saying "it's on its way." I asked about my soup, shumai, etc being cold and they said "no, it's on its way." Finally arrives and shocking my hot food is lukewarm at best. The Naruto had a single thin layer of cucumber, the rock n roll was chewy, and the rainbow roll fell apart. Then I notice I'm missing a tuna dumpling so I call again. It's been 45 minutes and no delivery of missing item so I just called back. The explanation was "i know! I know! we're really backed up." I told them to cancel the order and refund my missing roll. I'm fed up, I order weekly from here and I think I'll be finding a new take out location going forward. Sushi tasted bland, ordered yellowtail scallion I turned out to be spicy minced fish without scallion and when I tried to tell the server about it but can't find any during the hour. It seemed lady who took the order was so busy that she also manned the register. I enjoyed this place when it first opened but over the time since then it has gone down hill. Today marks three times in a row they have managed to mess up my husbands dinner, for delivery. This time I was very clear about how I wanted the rolls to an english speaking young lady and she repeated it to me, then they still came COVERED in sauce when I said seven times NO SAUCE! Obviously it is difficult for them to follow directions. When we called to tell them that it is wrong again, she blamed it on the new girl! I said no way, she knew how I wanted them, it must be the cooks. She then says they will bring new ones and would like us to return the ones that were wrong. No thank you! Not the best yet not the worst. My girlfriend and i decided to try a different sushi place then our usual and to check out this place. Although this place was good and they had a large selection of rolls and other sushi. For the price I was a little disappointed. I have been to other sushi restaurants in the area and for the same price you got better quality sushi better service and a cleaner restaurant. Admittedly when I came here it was in the winter so the floors being wet dirty and covered with salt is a reality. However the amount of salt from the outside on the ground as well as the white footprints throughout the whole resturant did not make it look good at all. I would come back here again if I wanted sushi and did not have a choice of where to go. With the places in the area you can get much more for you money. read more

Never ready for pick-up when they say they are. They'll say it'll be ready in 15 minutes, I'll leave in 15 minutes and end up waiting another 15 when I get there. Just pulled two hairs off/out of my spicy tuna roll - one on the outside and another within the ground tuna. My coworker found a dead ant in her salad of her bento box. The service is poor. The food is fair to good. The décor is good. Lunch prices ok, but dinner expensive. Staff seems confused too often. Walked-in for one time for takeout and took 30 minutes, only 2 other tables. Today I got overcharged for my take-out, just a buck for shrimp, but I got chicken, ticket says shrimp, but got chicken at shrimp price. This was excellent sushi (but I am not an expert.) I had money bags for the first course - cream cheese and crab was fantastic. Trio of salmon and two tunas also great. This place is hands down the best bang for your buck. Their appetizers, the money bags, are so amazing. They are by far the best version of crab Rangoon I've ever had between the filling, fried outside, and sauce they are all great. I got the tofu hibachi bento box. It was only thirteen dollars which in itself was a steal but it came with rice, a California roll, veggie dumplings, the fried tofu and veggies in the tastiest sauce. This was our first time trying this restaurant and we had our order delivered. We were delighted by the presentation of our food. We ordered the money bags, shrimp tempura, Alaskan sushi, mango chicken and pineapple rice. We wanted to plate a little of each, but by the time we opened each container, we were sampling with our fingers! Everything was so good - we are glad to have found this place. I try to come here as often as possible. The sushi is fresh and delicious, and it always comes beautifully plated. My favorites are the sweet potato roll, AAC roll, and one of the shrimp varieties. They're all good! The clear soup is very nice as well. read more

We LOVED this place! The restaurant is nice and cozy, and the staff are very welcoming. We sat at the bar and had the miso soup (DELICIOUS, had so much more flavor and tofu bits compared to our old sushi place), the chicken fried rice (also delicious!), and then the Julia roll (a little dry, needed something moist), the bagel roll (wish I could eat that for every meal the rest of my life!), and the incredible roll (my boyfriend loved it). I also had two pieces of eel sushi, surprisingly extra yummy compared to our old place. While sitting and talking, the sushi chef, or we would even call then artists!, gave us two complimentary pieces of really yummy tempura sushi and a smiley face in the wasabi (see pics). And they even gave us a carrot parrot garnish on his plate. We were ecstatic because we have parrots at home, and it was just too perfect. Overall, our bill came to about $70, but we had two very filling lunches and took home at least enough for dinner later tonight (score!). I highly recommend this place to anyone who likes sushi. read more

With the last bit of money I had before pay day, after working 10 hours every day for the past week and being sick, I decided to treat myself. I ordered a sushi roll and had it delivered to my house. Online I forgot to tip the delivery man which I normally don't forget and thought once he got to my house I could add it because it was being charged to my card. Think again. I couldn't add it but the delivery man who barely spoke any English starts yelling at me that I didn't tip him and starts demanding I get cash to tip him. I was outraged. I was a religious costumer for years until recently. I now refuse to even step foot into this place. Whenever I go there the lady at the counter has a constant attitude, she is very rude. Had a bad experience with her when my server didn't do much for us and even messed up both me and my friends order. Went to pay the lady forced me to tip. Telling me I need to tip because she cleaned our table. More recently I went there I asked for the same thing I get every time the lunch special but they make it a dinner special for a few extra dollars. I went to order it when the waitress told me they don't do that. After telling her multiple times I was here a week ago and got it, you guys definitely do it. She argued with me for 5 minutes until she went to a manager and they told her she was wrong. When placing my order I strictly asked for no cucumber because I am allergic in my rolls were cucumbers. About 2 minutes later they come back with my order with all of the cucumbers from my rolls put on the plate. Safe to say they never remade my rolls just threw it off to the side.
