The phone will ring close to 50 times before it transfers to voicemail. When you leave a voicemail for them to return your call it can be days before you get a response. Once you get through to someone in the office, their help is generally fine. BUT it certainly seems they use the phone and voicemail to avoid work. This has been going on before and since McLeod bought the practice.

He advised me to follow up with my doctor on Monday. By Sunday evening the brain damage had progressed to the point that I was having involuntary movements called posturing. The office is always clean and professional. They're always willing to work us in if needed for a last minute unexpected sick visit. They helped us out with formula samples. Being a first time mom, I always have questions. They make sure I'm comfortable enough to ask. I feel like the doctor always gives explanations and backs up her explanations with research and knowledge. I'm so happy that we chose her as our son's pediatrician. I would think that such promptness would be encouraged. Being able to wait in the waiting room and not outside in inclement weather would definitely be a health move in favor of clients. There are some clients who are ill, others who do not drive and are dropped off, and those who come a little early. Having a warm waiting room to sit in on a cold and/or rainy morning can protect the health of those seeking health and wellness services. What is even more frustrating is when you can see people sitting inside looking at clients standing outside in the rain, and in the cold and refuse to open the door waiting on the clock to strike. I don't think that that is in the best interest of clients, if the welfare of clients is first priority. I don't think that it is in anyone's best interest to have clients standing outside no matter their condition.

The main issues we are unhappy with are the lack of personal care for us as a family and miscommunications. Right away it feels more like the practice is more interested in the business of Pediatrics rather than the children themselves. We have never felt warmly welcomed there. It also seems like they are in the habit of over scheduling since the wait time (and you have to have an appointment) is crazy , the last visit I left after waiting an hour and a half past my appointment time.The other problem is that there have been many miscommunications, medicine sent to the wrong pharmacy, pills prescribed for a 7 yr old instead of liquid and a misdiagnosed UTI all from 1 visit. They didn't give us any information when we first registered with them about nurse lines or how the practice handles weekend emergencies or even general policies. Information that could have helped a lot when I had issues with the prescription. Any way if your thinking about Palmetto I'd say try somewhere else , I've already requested our records and am hoping to find a practice that truly cares for families and children.
