I am an experienced fly fishermen but my father in law had never swung a fly in his life. The first place we went was Silver Creek which was lights out. I caught a tagged brown trout on the first cast (bucket lister) and probably staged 6-8 more fish. Silver Creek is a very technical fishery, but my father in law still managed to pull out 3-4 fish that morning. After that Erik took us to another stream, I cant remember the name, where we proceeded to catch at least 20 more fish between us. My father in law went from not expecting to catch anything, to having an absolute lights out day and I attribute it all to the patience and instruction of our guide Erik. I get my exercise in hiking and biking during the summer, but needed to find a way to get a good sweat now that I've retired from skiing (if you can call what I did skiing). I was excited to see they had a treadmill/circuit training type of class called the mill. I did the power mill class 4 times during my week in Sun Valley and loved it so much. All 3 instructors I took with (Sophie, Maggie and Josie) were challenging and energetic. It was a good combo of running and weight lifting - I hated it during the workout, but felt so good when I left. Sophie's class was probably the most challenging of the 3 and she was also super friendly and welcoming to a newbie like me. Her Sunday morning class was also the smallest with only 3 of us so spent a lot of time correcting our form as well. I think you can't go wrong with any of the classes here and if you love to run they have a run mill class that's all on the tread. Excited I found this amazing workout for my frequent trips to Sun Valley. It seems popular among the locals, but tourists should try it too. And the first class was only $15 on mind body!

Zenergy has long been considered the premier spa in Sun Valley, which is exactly why this experience was so surprising. I booked a $400 HydraFacial the week before my wedding and expected a level of service that matched both the price and the reputation. My fiancé booked a men's facial while I booked the HydraFacial. About 10 minutes into our appointments, I realized we had been given each other's treatments. I was receiving the men's facial, while my fiancé, who is a man, had been started on my HydraFacial. I was the one who caught the mistake. Instead of handling it themselves, my esthetician told me she could not interrupt my fiancé's facial, so I had to get completely dressed, leave my treatment room, and go to the front desk to sort it out myself. By the time everything was resolved, my HydraFacial did not begin until 4:25 and ended at 4:55, leaving only about 30 minutes of treatment. Unfortunately, the facial itself was equally disappointing. The lights were never dimmed, the knee cushion was never adjusted, and aside from using the HydraFacial device once, there was essentially no facial performed. It felt rushed and nowhere close to what I would expect from a $400 treatment. My fiancé was also disappointed with his facial. He described it as mostly lotion being rubbed on his face with very little else. We were also surprised to learn that the same person who had done my manicure a few weeks earlier was performing his facial... To Zenergy's credit, they waived the charges, and I appreciated that gesture. What ultimately prompted me to leave this review, however, was the email I received afterward from the spa manager. Rather than acknowledging the service failures, the response focused on explaining booking procedures and HydraFacial contraindications, implying that we had somehow misunderstood the appointments. That was never the issue. The issue was the mix up, the fact that I lost a significant portion of my appointment because of an error I had to identify and resolve myself, and the quality of the service we ultimately received. My family, friends, and I have been coming to Zenergy for years, and we have never felt the need to complain. Lately, I have been hearing from more and more people around Sun Valley that they feel Zenergy has been going downhill, and I sincerely hope that is not the case. The facilities are beautiful, and the vast majority of the staff has always been wonderful. That is exactly why this experience, and especially the response from management, was so disappointing. I hope this feedback is taken seriously because Zenergy has built an incredible reputation, and I would hate to see that standard slip.

The layout of the workout equipment made sense and it was good amount based on the number of people so it was also available. I requested wanting to do an hour on the stairmaster and the adjustment to make this possible was done within a day. I liked using the hot tub for recovery after my workout but when it was closed, you literally had to go right up to the pool area to know that; there could have been a sign by the front desk, a sign entering the locker room, etc. but there was just a sign on the door AFTER completely going through the locker room where realistically one had already changed.

I'd never been to a rodeo before so I had no idea what to expect, but I had a great time; it was definitely a cultural experience! We had reserved seating which I would highly recommend for any larger groups. We had trouble getting over to the rodeo early, so we missed the kids riding sheep (which I heard was really cute!), and when we got there, the place was packed. There weren't many general admission seats available for groups larger than 3 or so people. The rodeo had a bunch of different events - my favorites were the bull riding, saddle bronc and barrel racing. It was amazing to watch some of these events and the skill of these cowboys and cowgirls)! The breakaway roping and calf roping were activities I'd never seen live or on TV before, so I was a little shocked but definitely got into it. I was hoping to take off a little early (it got cool into the evening), but the events kept going, and the momentum seemed to build with every event. There weren't any restrooms there (all porta-potties), so definitely use the facilities before you get there and limit your beverage intake. I'm not sure if this place is BYOB, but we (along with many others) certainly brought our/their own beverages (without any hassle). After the rodeo was over, the fireworks near Hailey began, and the rodeo arena by the Hailey airport was one of the best places to catch the fireworks. For any summer tourist to the area, this is a great event to get into the spirit of the wild West!
