I get my exercise in hiking and biking during the summer, but needed to find a way to get a good sweat now that I've retired from skiing (if you can call what I did skiing). I was excited to see they had a treadmill/circuit training type of class called the mill. I did the power mill class 4 times during my week in Sun Valley and loved it so much. All 3 instructors I took with (Sophie, Maggie and Josie) were challenging and energetic. It was a good combo of running and weight lifting - I hated it during the workout, but felt so good when I left. Sophie's class was probably the most challenging of the 3 and she was also super friendly and welcoming to a newbie like me. Her Sunday morning class was also the smallest with only 3 of us so spent a lot of time correcting our form as well. I think you can't go wrong with any of the classes here and if you love to run they have a run mill class that's all on the tread. Excited I found this amazing workout for my frequent trips to Sun Valley. It seems popular among the locals, but tourists should try it too. And the first class was only $15 on mind body!

The power strap tightening bracket broke rendering the boot useless, and it is the only boot my wife has ever skied on that hasn't left her with blisters. The repair required a plastioectomy of the left flange followed by a beautifully constructed anterior "strapostomy" replacing the original that had been amputated. Bruce supplied a loaner boot so we didn't miss the best day this year on the trails at Quigley canyon, and tomorrow we will be back to Prairie Creek with a boot stronger than the original! Thank you Bruce. Thank you Sturtevants. You always seem to be there when we need you. Your rentals are great, skis and bikes, and your service is top notch! While we haven't used you for base waxing, folks who have say they are pleased with how well you match wax to conditions. Your prices for xc ski waxes like Swix F4 and kick waxes often beat online sources,. Your staff offers very sound recommendations on kick zones and wax pockets for different conditions. It's a more laid back low pressure comfortable place to be than in some of the shops at the north end of the valley that cater mostly to tourists (not complaining, love the tourists, just different needs).

HardCore was a really creative, effective way to change it all up. Think TRX completely, brilliantly redesigned and expanded upon by physiology geniuses. As Bill led me through a full body workout I was engaging so many muscles in new, smart ways with the proprietary equipment. And as tough as this workout was, it was very low impact, felt utterly safe, and I felt no stress on joints the way regular weight lifting can do. Even though I wish I could do weekly sessions to incorporate HardCore into my fitness routines, I am so glad I tried this while visiting and will definitely go back when I visit again.
