I've teetered with the idea over the past 6 or so years with my continuous traveling serving in the military, however never could bring myself to do it. Then a friend suggests Shane at Countryside play-n-stay. I called to get a quote for the duration of Chili's stay if I decided to board him. Shane was prompt to answering my call. He answered all my off the wall questions as a dachshund Mommy. He was very thorough in getting Chili's vet records and current shots. I could tell his concern for health of ALL animals coming to his establishment. Upon my arrival to Countryside P-N-S, I immediately noticed it's beautiful countryside location; Name says it all ;-). There were dog statues as soon as you entered the property with a well landscaped driveway back to the Dog Day Care location. The outside kennels were empty as it was cold out, but I noticed no smell of animals and they were well kept. When we entered the "office" part of the building it smelled clean, nothing like I would have expected. There was no obscene barking, everything was organized and clean. Shane, the owner, greeted me personally. He was cautious to just greet my dog. He took his time in letting Chili warm up to him, even got cheese for both of us to give him. His questionnaire for boarding admittance was thorough and organized. He handled Chili with care and again answered all my random questions. When I picked Chili up after 4 days; he was sooooo happy! He didn't want to leave Shane or his son Kyle. I honestly could never think of taking my baby anywhere else but here. Shane is so caring, knowledgable, and warm. You can definitely see his genuine concern for the animals and owners, not a money making pit. He's a fellow veteran, and I would recommend his services a thousand times! Affordable, clean, caring... Hands down number one caregiver in the state of Pennsylvania.

I called to schedule home service care for my two cats for a total of 3 days (July 10 to 12, 2021)…read more Christina and Jen came out to my home to meet the cats and so I could show them where the food, litter, and treats were located. At that time the assured me that they would come for the scheduled days and send me pictures or updates regarding my cats. When I left home on Friday I left out 2 bowls of water and 4 dishes of food. Every day that I was away I received pictures and/or updates about my cats via text message. When I arrived home Monday evening (July 12th), both bowls of water only had water covering the bottom and the food was only covering the bottom of ALL 4 food dishes. I have left my cats alone for 2 days in the past, with no one coming into the home to check on them, with the same set up of food and water(2 water bowls and 4 dishes of food). After 2 days of the cats being alone in the past, all of the bowls would still be about 80% full when I returned home. That was not the case when I returned after 4 days away with people supposedly caring for my pets. There is no way that they were filling their food and water daily, like I had contacted for them to do. I was very disappointed, but decided to just pay my bill and move on. I recently requested my keys back and they informed me they would be sent back via certified mail and there was a $20 charge to mail them per our contract. The same contract that stated the cats would be cared for daily. Their audacity in asking for $20 to get my keys back is what prompted me to leave this rating. I normally do not write reviews, but I wanted to warn others who care for their pets as much as I do, to BEWARE OF THIS SERVICE.

Frankly I've had a couple of sitters ramp up Cleo's separation anxiety. The first time I contacted Lisa, I knew she actually cared for animals. It's not just a job to her. Lisa came over to introduce herself to me AND Cleo. I was delighted to find out Lisa and her pet sitters would actually visit with Cleo - take the time to care for her in ways beyond pouring food in the bowl or walking. It has been immensely reassuring to receive text updates and pictures each time a visit occurs. When I get back, Cleo is calm and happy to see me - not trembling like the time I picked her up from the vet's. The fee is so very reasonable allowing me to ask that Cleo have 3 visits a day while I'm gone. I feel so fortunate to have found this service.

The owner was friendly and incredibly helpful when it came to pick-up and drop-off times. They have indoor and outdoor play areas and even have a little pool for the dogs to play in. While our dog was happy to see us when we came to pick him up, he seemed just as content to hang out with the owner and couldn't stop licking her! He was absolutely exhausted after playing there for a few hours and slept the entire four hour drive home plus the day after!! If we lived closer we would definitely be dropping him off there regularly. I cannot recommend this place enough!

The dogs have inside and outside runs, a large play yard and are walked at least twice daily. My dogs were all rescued and no matter what their initial issues, each warmed up quickly to the idea of going here. I have seem them carefully and compassionately deal with puppies, elderly dogs, sick dogs, and scared dogs. I have left my dogs here from as short as doggy daycare up to two weeks without issue. It is a huge deal not to have to worry about my furry family when I am away from home.
