I believe that Icon Realty was involved in hacking my bank account. I leased an apartment in the heart of las olas/Fort Lauderdale from December 2016, from Atlantic loft llc. I agreed to pay a 2 month security deposit of $2400 as well as first, last and security (pretty standard) got my key, etcétera. After 2 different companies handling our property, ICON Realty came in January 2020 and revamped property by implementing a ***online payment service ***** aka , a way to get into your bank account. I questioned who this is and why I had to use this system to pay, not only to be replied with "It is our new system and you have to use it, you must pay rent this way or consult your attorney" As I went ahead and used it but decided to not renew my upcoming ending lease of 3/30/20. I emailed, texted and explain that I would not be renewing the lease because not only I don't trust the payment system, I had a very difficult time communicating with Benjamin (who by the way runs the whole thing). He ignored all my calls and the ones he replied, he did very rudely. I promptly moved out on schedule and handed him the keys along with my original lease agreement. He took the keys and said that He did not have a refund and I would need to wait 30 days to receive one on the mail. Now 30 days later. My bank account has been HACKED and bank investigated the multiple charges leading back to that January rent payment. I have been getting random withdrawals from different wiring entities totaling over 1k so far. Due to covid19, I can not yet file a claim in court. And the reason I am writing this is to WARN tenants and landlords about companies like this! I am attaching the refund check I just received. What a joke! See you in court.

From the realtor Gena Maria Ross (an extremely vulgar and unpleasant person) upwards, they all seem to be related to each other and are all a bunch of incompetent, uneducated and rude people. The townhome was pretty much uninhabitable, they had unpaid fines in the community, they were 2 weeks late in handing over the unit and never answered any maintenance request. Despite returning the townhome in better shape than I received it, they still had the nerve to retain part of the deposit, illegally and unjustified. There is a system in place to literally rob you and they just believe that tenants won't take any action. Well this time they will see what a furious mother of 3 is able to and I will save no effort to file a claim at every possible instance (FREC, HUD, BBB, etc) until they are fined.
