We danced this past season at District West Coast Swing with Hugo "level 3". At this point Hugo decided to add "level 4" by INVITE ONLY. My wife and I were forced to go to "level 3" if we wanted to dance in the class. He didn't Invite us, as he didn't even know our names. Level 3 was way below our skill. The class consisted of 2 instructors, 1 man who was not qualified to dance, another woman who smelled like alcohol and another woman who was quite good. That is hardly a good time. No interaction with the "friends" we have at "level 4" which had around 50 people and our class had 6 people. If you are visiting, I wouldn't bother. Yes, if you dance with the "key players" and meet people, it could be fun. We have decided to go to the other West Coast Swing group at Bayou with Danielle.

This studio focuses on learning things the right way the first time no matter their level of dance and always stressing on their technique. Being a former athlete myself, I'm very impressed with the solid core fundamentals and foundations of dance taught by Kelley. I also like that the classes are limited in size. There is also a variety of programs available to all dancers. My daughter is now part of their competition team and I like that Dance Central offers classes all year round so that she can continue the momentum in her dance education. It's been a great experience for my daughter.

Kelley King is an amazing teacher and does a great job of getting her dancers to push outside their comfort zone and try new things. My daughters have so much more confidence as dancers after eight weeks of camp. My girls love it at Dance Central, they came home from their first day of camp saying that they wanted continue their dance instruction at DC when they start back in the fall. I am a firm believer that we are put in the right place at the right time, I have found a wonderful new studio for my daughters to continue their dance education. Today was my last day of the Adult Intro to ballet. I was extremely nervous about doing it but this…read moreyear is all about doing things that I've always wanted to do. The class sessions were roughly 2 hours and once weekly. My teacher was Anne, who is also the owner. She's so passionate about teaching and i love it! I want to say every single class she's stayed to help someone with their questions. We've all had a teacher explain something and not get it but with Anne that does not happen she gives very detailed descriptions and corrections and so gracefully at that. For example one of the phrases for tucking our pelvis was " scoop your marbles". How cute!? I've completely changed my posture and picked up a new hobby so i will be continuing my ballet journey. The class cost 150 for 6 weeks so very affordable. There was a very diverse age range in my class, so please go , if you are thinking about it, it is never too late. Additionally, the ladies on the phone and front desk were always so pleasant. I took ballet , but i know Jazz and pointe are also available. Great place, beautiful environment, great community, social events, opportunities for adult performances ... what more can you ask for?! Thank you for a wonderful 6 weeks Anne! Friendly staff, strong drinks, zero attitude. It's one of those rare bars where you can come as you are -- whether you're meeting friends, people-watching from the iconic front window, or hanging on the patio (the new pool table is a fun addition ). It has roots as a longtime LGBTQ+ favorite, but today it's simply a welcoming, everyone's-invited kind of vibe. Locals love it for a reason. If you haven't been in a while, it's worth rediscovering.

Not my vibes, but it could be yours…read more I'm trying to find some place to dance, that isn't filled with young people or start dancing too late. I was really hopeful that this would be the place, but it's not. We were here from about 8 PM to 9:45 PM on a Saturday. The back patio was very busy with live music that was quite good. So if I was looking for a relaxing place to listen to live music, then this would be it. They have a food truck, they do allow smoking in the back patio, which is not my favorite, but it didn't seem like many people are doing it so I think you can avoid it if you want to. I was really hoping that there would be more dancing inside, we kept going back into check if there was anyone dancing. For the longest time there wasn't actually even anyone inside except for a few people at the bar. At around 9:40 PM, there were a couple women that started dancing, the problem was I didn't like any of the music that the DJ was playing. I didn't recognize it at all. I don't think it was new music, but it was older music that I didn't recognize. We ended up making a pivot and driving to Nash Keys, which is 10 minutes away and they have dueling pianos on Saturdays. I was disappointed that I didn't know the music, because even if there was only a few people dancing I still would've danced, but being that I wasn't a fan of the music there really wasn't any point to do it. So maybe if we had stayed later there would be more dancing, but a combination of no dancing plus not knowing the music we did not want to stick around. Again, the back patio with live music was quite nice, different vibes so it depends what you want. I probably won't come back unless it's well after 10 PM.
