Three cards were inside: one of the cupcake flavors, another listing the Cupcake Queens locations across Melbourne, and the last was the best: containing a birthday message from my family in Canada. I don't know what sorcery this was, that I had cupcakes in front of me, and a loving message from Canada. Talk about how global the world is?! It still surprises me and makes me feel like a special little butterfly. You can only imagine how I spent the rest of my day...Stuffing my face with cupcakes and tea watching chick flicks. To cater to all taste buds, the seasoning is kept to a minimum so you need to adjust it to your liking with salt and pepper. But there was tons of flavour in this one...loved the chermoula dressing which when combined with the runny eggs was brilliant. A clean, healthy and nourishing dish. It was a really hot day and the Atlantic salad sounded very interesting so we added that to the list too. Lots of baby spinach topped with cherry tomatoes, capers, smoked salmon, feta, pickle, jalapenos drizzled with a balsamic glaze dressing. (sshh...we don't include the yummy macaroons that may have 'accidentally' fallen into my bag while getting those take away coffees...) The prices are good value for decent serving sizes. The Eggs Florentine were poached to perfection with a hollandaise sauce that was not over powering like a few others I have tried recently. I had a bit of food envy when the pancakes where put down in front of the boy. But don't you worry, I'll be back to try those bad boys soon enough!
