I don't know how they do it so consistently, although I think that their relatively limited menu allows them to place most of their focus on the coffee, instead of a bunch of complicated drinks that are designed to suppress the taste of the coffee itself. Sunergos has a few locations, but I think this is the nicest, with the one on Willis coming in second. The coffee is very good, maybe the best in Lou. This location is smaller and cozier, but still has enough seating that you don't have to be nervous about finding a spot (but you might have to share). It is also in a pretty neighborhood with ample parking. read more

I love Sunergos! We come in the mornings when we are in Louisville, I often spend a week or two at a time, and hardly miss a morning coffee here. Usually, I drink my coffee black, and the mark of a good coffee/coffee shop is when black coffee is smooth and not bitter. Theirs is always on point. Their Chai? Also great! Since they always have some really delicious seasonal flavors, I sometimes treat myself to a sweet treat. This season, Ube and Pumpkin spice, both on point. They are very nice and know the regulars, always nice, professional and seem happy to be there. This time, when I came in, I saw the addition of an orange couch. Not gonna lie, I love it. How I've never written a review for this place is crazy because it's my favorite coffee in louisville, and probably my go to location as well. All of the baristas are helpful, friendly, and full of coffee knowledge. Love this Sunergos! I studied here all the time in undergrad! It was the perfect place to get some work done. Leaving this review today though because of how nice the workers were. I had my dog with me and couldn't take her inside, so one of the workers offered to hold her leash while I went to order. However, I was a tad nervous about my dog getting a little crazy with me not there. She offered to order my drink while I stay with my dog. They even got her a pup cup! Overall, this is one of the best coffee shops in Louisville just by the taste of their coffee and they have some of the nicest people working there! read more

Often, I find, "coffee houses" in Louisville cannot fulfill that order correctly, despite it being a simple, traditional, international, eternal coffee house staple. Several popular "coffee houses" here in Lou have disappointed me repeatedly. Sunergos Highlands did not. I found both the taste of the coffee and the execution of the cappuccino to be of excellent quality Normally, in cafes, I take a bakery product with my coffee, and we took two different ones. Sunergos' products are cloyingly, inedibly sweet, in my own very personal opinion. I can't say enough good things. I moved to the highlands area and stumbled up this place when my WiFi was out while I was working. It's a cute, clean spot. The employees are kind, knowledgeable and helpful! I've gone a number of times now, a big reason was WiFi/outlets/coffee and allllll the things. But the patio!! Covered, clean, there are about 4 tables, and outdoor outlets. I am so glad to have found this place that's so close to my house! Mocha Shake. What a thing! How about a Chai Shake next?! Yes! They made it, and it's awesome! Sunergos is a boon to the neighborhood, and the coffee is excellent. I had an out-of-this-world chocolate chip cookie that would give the other known best-in-town a challenge for the title. I will be back. Often. I've a confession to make. I had a bad experience here in 2019 with an employee that was less than cordial about menu questions. That caused me to go to another larger coffee shop over 700 times(rounded down!) since for meetings and time with clients, and on my own while visiting this one exactly zero in that time frame. Probably my loss there, but employees are the face of your business and they have a huge impact. That problem probably went away when that particular college student did and I am sorry to have held a grudge for that long against such an amazing coffee shop. The coffee at this place smells amazing and tastes great. You can really sense the quality of the beans and feel the caffeine. It reminds me of the rich aroma you'd find at Kennington Lane Café in London. Service is fast - I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes. However, I'm giving this place one star, and frankly, I wish I could give a negative rating, but that's not an option here. I've visited four times, and each visit left me increasingly disturbed, not because of the coffee or service in general, but due to the behaviour of a particular employee. There is a slim, young man with curly blond hair who seems to be there every day. On my first visit, in late March, I noticed him making uncomfortable jokes and giving lingering stares to female customers. Two weeks later, I witnessed him touch a female colleague inappropriately, followed by an insincere apology. In early May, he made sexual jokes towards another female colleague, even after it was clear she was uncomfortable. He repeated them nonetheless. On my most recent visit, I saw him behave similarly toward yet another female staff member. It was clear harassment - so much so that even my 9-year old daughter, who was with me, picked up on it. The next day, she asked me what she should do if she ever finds herself in a similar ugly situation when she's older and working. That moment made it painfully clear how serious and damaging this behaviour is - especially when it goes unchecked. I will never return here. While customers can choose to go elsewhere, the female employees working under such conditions may not have that option. Too often, women don't report such behaviour until it's far too late - perhaps out of fear of being labelled, misunderstood, or causing trouble. But this is precisely why the employer must act. Whether the company is small or simply lacking proper policies, it's their responsibility to create a safe workplace. If nothing changes, I sincerely hope that relevant authorities step in. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable and must be addressed urgently. I brought in my reusable cup and the staff was more than accommodating in filling it up instead of the single use cups they provide. Since Sunergos still has the Coconut Iced Latte on their menu I ordered that and made it vegan by subbing oat-milk. This is a phenomenal spot with excellent indoor as well as outdoor seating, a few yummy treats, supreme coffee & a very friendly staff! A local chain which is mostly focused on drinks. They had a few muffins and things that didn't blow me away, and being more of a tea drinker I wondered whether I'd come to the right place. Having said that, their chai latte came with a ton of cinnamon and other spices, and while it wasn't the most tea-flavored drink, it was good. Sunergos gifted me a $10 credit long ago and sadly this was my first time back. I took my husband this time and I we both got iced caramel lattes. We added espresso shots to cut the sweetness, which helped but these are definitely made for people that enjoy a more sugared, very sweet drink. I'd like to return and stick to a cold brew with a splash of cream next time. Currently the inside of the shop is closed, enter through one door and exit from another. Masks required and being worn by their team. They've placed chairs and tables, plus picnic tables outside for seating. One side of the patio is covered in case of rain. As soon as I walked in, I could tell that this was going to be a different kind of coffee shop experience. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, and the staff was genuinely friendly. I ordered my coffee and found a seat. As I sipped my drink, I realized how much I'd needed this break. I'd been so caught up in my busy life that I'd been forgetting to enjoy the little things. Interesting location. Ok chai. It is certainly no frills, but maybe I need some frills... I met here with a small group and felt like I had to order something to drink while we were here. But as it was late in the afternoon, I didn't want a coffee so I ordered an iced vanilla chai. It came topped with, I assume, cinnamon. Something that didn't really mix in to the drink. I like the idea of this spot, and I like the outdoor seating options. Sunergos in general doesn't have my favorite coffee in town and this location isn't a draw enough to rise above my more preferred coffee houses. But it benefits by being close to the Bellarmine campus, a couple schools and apartments, and amidst a well-populated and probably young-ish residential area. I am sure they get a steady stream of business. If you are nearby and need a java jolt...you can find it here. And though it be small, they DO have a bitty little parking lot. read more

We ordered an iced Carmel latte with oat milk, one of their winter special lattes (smoked vanilla latte with oat milk), and a cheddar biscuit. All was wonderful. If you are looking for the best white mocha in town look no further! My husband boldly states that they are one of the best coffee roasters in the country. We routinely pick up their beans so he can have their coffee at home. Coffee is delicious, staff is super friendly and they even have yummy snacks. I'm so excited that I now have a Sunergos in my neighborhood! I made my first of hopefully many visits today. This Sunergos is on the small side but has pretty much everything you need -- great coffee, treats to go with that coffee and some tables for relaxing. There are also bags of coffee to bring home with you, if you so desire. The staff was quick to take my order, and my chai latte came out just a few minute later, steaming hot and looking delicious. It tasted as good as it looked. Considering this space is a former auto garage, I love that they kept the large garage doors in the front. When the weather (finally) gets warm, this will be such an incredible spot to enjoy a beautiful day. And even during the cold, though, I was pleasantly surprised with how cozy it was inside. This is still a great place to enjoy during the winter. Bellarmine students will eat this coffee shop up, but I suspect there will be others, like me, who frequent it as well. read more

I've actually never been to Sunergos although I've had their coffee at Coffea in Lexington. The space isn't huge but there are many spaces to chill. You can stand at the tables by the windows to the left of the door, take a seat at a table, or sit at the picnic tables outside. They also sell apparel, mugs, and coffee beans! It wasn't busy when I came at 4:30 on a Sunday. A lot of people looked like they were studying. I saw a few people come, enjoy coffee, and leave, or they did a grab and go. It's summer though and school is out. It's possible it would be much busier during the school year since Bellarmine is nearby. My friends and I were a group of 4. We found a table, luckily. We sat there until 7:30 and it had about emptied out. I got an iced caramel latte. Wow! Really good and a great one to take my time and savor. I also had a cheddar chive biscuit. It was flavorful. They even warmed it up! My friend got a banana nut muffin. She liked it! My other friend got a regular coffee. She thought it was alright. They also sell rice crispies, Nancy's bagels, and other treats. Anyway, I loved the selection of music. They played James Morrison, John Mayer, Hozier, and other low key artists.
