If you're ever in Fair Oaks and want something that actually satisfies without weighing you down, Sunflower Café is one of those spots that just gets it right every time. Their nut burger never misses. It's packed with so much flavor you almost forget how simple it looks--tucked into that soft multigrain bun, it's hearty, textured, and somehow still feels light. It's the kind of meal that leaves you full but not sluggish, which is rare. And the fruit salad? Surprisingly standout. Every piece tasted fresh and in season--nothing mushy, nothing bland. Just crisp, naturally sweet fruit that actually feels intentional, not like an afterthought on the plate. It's a great little local spot with that easy, welcoming vibe. Perfect for when you're craving something clean, flavorful, and a break from the usual heavy sandwiches and burgers. It just hits different in the best way.

Such a cute find!! Tucked away in an adorable neighborhood, this veggie spot exceeded my expectations. The nutburger was full of flavor and was the perfect texture, definitely a step up from a lot of veggie patties I've tried. There was a pretty sizable area to enjoy your food outside, which is great for warm weather!

Get there early! As soon as we ordered a line started right behind us as soon as they opened! The service was quick and the Nutburger tastes just as good as I remembered it to be! This is a great lunch spot for healthy, good-quality lunch options!

We were around the area and felt like being vegetarian for the day haha. The place is located in the corner, the parking lot did not have that many spots, so be aware. However, there is parking on the street. You order from the outside, so I'm glad it wasn't sunny or too hot. The person taking the order was very patient and nice. I could only imagine answering all these questions from curious customers haha. There are a few tables inside, but it's mostly outdoor seating. I remember coming to this place a while back and it being good. Well, today was no different. Everything we got was excellent. This place is located on a corner, so be aware that parking spots We ordered 2 Nutburgers, a Super Nutburger and a Patty Melt. Nutburger: The nut burger was very flavorful. It was not dry, and you can taste all the healthiness in there haha. The sauce was a nice addition and made everything come together. Super Nutburger: It is a bigger patty, BUT it's not in a bun this time. It's in a pocket bread. Refer to my pictures. My son got it and gobbled it all down, so I can only assume it was good. Haha Patty Melt: I believe it's the same nut burger patty, just prepared differently. The bread is toasted with butter, has cheese and grilled onion, just like a common patty melt. My daughter ordered this and left no crumbs behind haha. So also good. When you're getting tired of Beef Burgers, stop by Sunflower Drive In and get yourself a NutBurger!

I hadn't been in a long time and it's still just as good as I remember and it's a must try for the vegetarians and vegans in the greater Sacramento area for that Nutburger. It's vegetarian but they can make it vegan if you ask.

Still going to wait a hot minute for food but that doesn't deter me! The chikin' sandwich hits the spot every time. Consistently flavorful, warm by the time I get home, and a good bite to it.

Finally got a chance to check out the infamous Sunflower Drive-in and sure did not disappoint ! It was nice weather out today but we opted to get our food to go since the weather was also chilly today. There is outdoor seating available and plenty of parking in front. Ambiance is super chill and casual. Staff were friendly and helpful. You just order (much like a taco stand) and pick up at the next window. The wait was short and we were on our way. I ordered their nachos and hubby and his dad got the regular burrito , one with black beans and one with refried beans . I devoured my light and fresh tasting nachos. Hubby and father-in-law enjoyed their burritos as well.

First hour is happy hour $2 off drinks and $10 off food. I'd say this place is perfect for drinks and apps. There isn't a big variety for entree's. But those appetizers were the show! Our Order: grilled riblets, garnish shrimp pieces, watermelon tomato salad beef sliders French fries and the blackened salmon. All in all 10 out of 10 highly recommend!

I arrived around 11:30 and the hostess seated me immediately. Our server, Jaden, came over to the table right away to introduce himself, provide water, and ask if I wanted to get started with any drinks. I decided to wait for my friends to arrive, and while waiting, I took a look at the food and drink menu. Upon arrival of the two friends, we ordered cocktails first and then decided on food. I ordered the Pink Pony and later the cosmopolitan, and eggs benedict for breakfast. My meal was quite delicious and I finished every morsel on my plate. The poached eggs were done perfectly and I really enjoyed the potatos. We were seated in the interior dining room to the left of the entry and I did not check out the other interior areas of the restaurant, but I loved the Mid Century Modern / Palm Springs vibe. I especially loved the "fly fan" on each table to use because the bar behind where we were sitting was open to the outside. We did not have an issue with flies but the fans are a nice and considerate touch. Jaden provided excellent customer service, checking back as our drinks got low, and checking back on the food, which we all very much enjoyed. When we left there was some live music outside, but we did not stay as it was a pretty warm Sunday on 6/14/26, but I will most definitely return. I'm especially looking forward to returning in the evening when the weather gets a little cooler toward the end of summer. This is a really fun place, with great food and great service!

The chicken katsu is still one of the best I've had--light, crispy, and perfectly crunchy on the outside, with juicy, tender chicken inside. Every visit has been consistently delicious, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. I also tried the spicy pork again. It's a bit different from the Korean spicy pork I'm used to. Instead of the pork being marinated so the flavor is deeply infused, it seems to be grilled first and then coated with the sauce. While it's not the traditional style I expected, it's still flavorful and worth trying if you're open to a different take on the dish. In addition the chicken gangjeong dish that requires it to be "deep fried chicken" needs additional time to get crunchy like you would expect. I think the sauce may have made the crunch disappear. The consistency in both the food and the service is what keeps bringing me back. I'm looking forward to working my way through the rest of the menu. The bibimbap was fresh and well balanced, with plenty of vegetables, tender beef, and a perfectly fried egg that tied everything together. Every bite had a great mix of textures and flavor. Also they do have great selection for desserts gulab jamun like a fried donut with syrup and rice pudding too. . All the meat here is served as Halal which I really like because the texture of the meat is usually more tender and juicy. . I also got to try cheese naan bread which was cheesy and my favorite is still there garlic naan which is thin and they really oven it to crispy and I really like that. Important factor - I use a walker on good days, wheelchair on worse. Today I was using a walker. They asked indoors or outdoors and because of the heat I asked for indoors. The server / hostess guestured and said "Sit anywhere". But almost all the tables were quite high and require mobility. They were those raised chairs and tables you almost have to climb up to sit. And at the end of the counter there was a lowered portion with two seats that were accessible. However, they were using this counter space for storage with bunches/little buckets of utensils, ketchups, a dirty dish rag, napkins, other various items. To the credit of the man working at the counter part, he did offer to clear it up for me. I did refuse because if you only have two accessible seats inside, using that space as storage sends a message that my business isn't wanted. Same with stores that use the only accessible changing room as storage for all the put backs. It's the principle of the thing. My husband and I ended up leaving and eating somewhere else. I have just moved to the area a couple of months ago and had a good time at one of the coffee shops the week before nearby and like the little downtown Fair Oaks vibe for walking around, local businesses, etc. I hope in the future they can be ready for disabled folks like myself in a similar way that they are for all patrons.
