I really enjoyed the chocolate ganache Belgium waffle. My friend enjoyed one of the eggs Benedict options and chia pudding, which she said was delicious. We came here for brunch on a Sunday after we checked out of The Fritz Hotel. It was a 6 minute walk from where we stayed/parked. We had the choice of egg, with toast, diced potatoes and apple wood bacon. (I was so hungry I forgot to take a photo!) My partner also got a second side of bacon. The eggs were delicious, over medium and cooked perfect. The diced potatoes were soft with the right amount of crisp and the bacon was cooked perfectly. The toast was delicious, dipped in the egg. We didn't have a reservation, but we were able to sit down & be served quickly since it was steady, but not 100% full. Most of their seating is on their patio/ sidewalk in front of the restaurant, with only a couple tables inside. We thoroughly enjoyed our coffees, avocado toast & shared an açaí bowl. Everything was made fresh & brought quickly to our table. However, unfortunately we witnessed a terrible situation here while enjoying our breakfast. Three people of color arrived hoping to have breakfast there. They asked the waitress where the entrance was & if they needed a reservation. The waitress said, "yes you need a reservation & we're already fully committed for today, sorry." We were appalled & disgusted by the racism we witnessed. We felt so awkward, stunned, & sad because the waitress said it in front of nearly everyone since most people were seated on their patio near the entrance. Sunday brunch at Sunny Side did not disappoint. We were lucky enough to get a patio table on a Saturday morning. They greeted us immediately upon arrival and offered us our choice of tables. While the patio is part of a larger parking lot, they've carefully selected greenery to give the illusion of a closed off, private patio. Above all else, though, was the menu. I had difficulty choosing what to have because so many things struck my attention. My husband opted for a cheese omelette and side of bacon, both of which he enjoyed. Thoroughly enjoyable and delicious choices including a croissant, Eggs Any Way selection and Smoked Salmon Benedict, as well as Brie covered hash browns. Nice outside patio venue. A definite brunch gem. The Deets: Always in search of that great weekend brunch, a Saturday in Miami Beach found us searching for Sunnyside that we found looking in Yelp. We parked, looked around, and one definitely needs to keep a sharp eye out for this almost hidden gem. Seeing the window ID, we went into the small quaint cafe to grab a table. Most all the tables are outside in a covered patio surrounded by greenery. It makes for a very welcoming area for brunch. Once seated, we perused the rather extensive brunch menu that has such selections as omelets, benedicts, pancakes, waffles, French toast, healthy choices, house specials, salads, lunch, sides, pastries, and beverages. Starting with a mimosa (noting the freshly squeezed OJ used) and a coffee, we also decided to split a plain croissant for starters. Very tasty croissant, flaky and not dry. Main menu selections were made in getting Any Style Eggs choice that also included their version of roasted potatoes, my choice of bread being toast, and applewood bacon (can get sausage instead of bacon) and the Smoked Salmon Benedict (see the pic I got of this spread). I also got a side of their hash browns with Brie melted on top (skipped the compote this time). Everything about my choice of Any Style Eggs was perfect, just as ordered, noting the breakfast potatoes were just as I like them! My friend enjoyed his benedict choice very much. The Brie covered hash browns served in a small skillet were surprisingly delicious as well, perfectly done. Service covered the bases as needed. This meal has to be one of the most enjoyable brunches I've had so far in Miami Beach, if not anywhere lately. service here is horrible!! i came solo to have breakfast here and when the server came to get my order he left and then came back 15 min later and asked me if I was ready to order. to which I said "I already ordered with you I got the French toast and the eggs" and he goes "oh yea" and walks away. meaning you still hadn't put in my order, luckly I wasnt in a rush. then a larger party came in and he asked me to move tables to accommodate them, ok that's fine so I moved my things. then after the food eventually came (food tasted great) they removed my plates and I asked for the check. I was watching a video on my phone that had 18 min left on it, so when I asked for the bill I continued watching the video and once it finished I realized I still hadn't gotten the check, so I wave him down and he comes over and says "yes, would you like coffee or dessert?" and I said, no id like the check. so he realizes I had already asked him and he turns and hands me the screen to tap and pay, and he says "don't worry the tip is already added" NO I WORRY!!!!! because you don't deserve a tip for service that was dismissive, neglectful and unprofessional. don't even waste your time, id get uber eats cause the food was good. the strawberry matcha was cute.... im just upset that the tip is automatically added (which I have no issue to tip) but the service is HORRIBLE read more

When we asked for another table to be connected so we could have some room to sit, the server curtly said no. That started the ball rolling on an awful experience. The food was mediocre. We had pancakes and eggs that were as good as something you can get at Dennys. We left this place wishing we'd gone somewhere else.
