if you are thinking of renting from SunnyHill Properties please rethink your options. They are super intrusive landlords. They enter your apartment without permission . They disregarded my requests to give me some lead time into entering my place. There was rarely an emergency when they entered. They charged an enormous amount of money when I left. I went to court and nothing seemed to matter because the family is completely connected to the local court system. I questioned why these charges were made. They had the audacity to produce undated photos that were taken prior to the walk through saying the refrigerator was unclean. They added statements on the walk through paper that were not there when I signed. On top of all of this I had solid evidence on certain items but in court these items were dismissed. The stove never worked properly and they will lie and cheat to charge you and keep your security deposit. Please take my advice and please find another place to rent. It's not worth living in a place you have no privacy and one that will rip you off in the end. I read former reviews after I moved out that echo my review. This was the absolute worst place I have ever rented from. I moved here from out of state at the age of 21 and had all my money taken away and was kicked out dude to false accusations. They would come in without warning, one time when I was naked changing. Gave me 10 days to leave and when asked for more time because I had no way of getting my stuff out, was told I would be given more time and they would call. They never did and then called one day to let me know we would need to be out on that same day. Was treated awful and was discriminated against. Awful and right down rude. read more

This was our first rental property. Contacted SunnyHill Properties in November of 2011. Was informed of a 1 bedroom apartment on the owner's property that was available (Tanya Nitterhouse). Worked with one of her employees (Adrienne Weldon) to view the apartment and sign the lease agreement. The process was fairly smooth and we only had the information provided from Adrienne to go on how the entire process worked. We had a dog and a newborn on the way (March). We moved in on 01/01/2012. Our rent for a 1 bedroom apartment was $600 per month, with a $600 security deposit. We had a 35lb beagle. No extra charge for the beagle and an addendum added into our lease agreement stating that it was okay for us to have the dog in the apartment. We paid our rent on time, in full, each month. We did not have any issues up until June 2012. The landlord (Tanya) and my father had a confrontation at our apartment. The next day we were served an eviction notice. The notice stated our dog was barking excessively. We pay our rent on the 1st of every month. The incident occurred on 06/06/2012. We received the notice the next day and were given 10 days to leave the property. I spoke with Adrienne and she told me we had to leave within 10 days and that we would not get the difference of our already paid rent for the month of June. We worked with a lawyer who confirmed that she was not legally aloud to evict us because of the excessive noise from our dog. To be fair, the upstairs tenant had never complained that he was an issue. The owner herself had a dog that would be aloud to run free on the property and would constantly attack our dog while we walked him on a leash. The lawyer helped us to stay for the full month that we paid for in June, which gave us time to find a new home and get moved in. Adrienne performed our walkthrough on 6/28/2012. The only items needing replaced were a few light bulds and the grease pans under the burners on the electric stove needed replaced. We received a letter 30 days later stating we were not getting our security deposit and did not explain what we were being charged for. I could not afford a lawyer at the time, so I did not attempt to fight for the security deposit. I have not dealt with them since. I would suggest reviewing the lease agreement and having a lawyer look over it first. Make sure you know what you are getting into and be careful not to get suckered. I won't say don't rent from here just because of my bad experience, but I would think twice and look three times first. read more

They don't have functioning fire alarms in their apartments; this caused a fire in my apartment!! Then they will charge you for fire damage (caused by their own negligence)! Avoid them like plague! read more
