Decided to stop by the new location and check out what was available. We picked up some bread, fresh chicken, pork chops and I also a burger from the deli. So cost for meat was above what we would pay at Natural grocers but of course this is Durango... Bread was decent I am sure there are competitive bakers in town but I picked up two loaves . The burger was very good and tots were tots. But for $14 That would have to be a treat every now and then. Overall its a awesome shop but if your on a budget this isn't a place to shop. You can find what you are looking for and it might require several stops. read more

Decent burger nice they have zuberfizz available as well as regular cans of soda. I have been trying to get by here since they moved from the Walmart area. Great place, kinda strict during the whole lock down mess and shitty curbside with ordering... Great when I went before lock down. Good burger for dine in lol... During lock down mask was required as well as gloves... now anyone want to share how a pair of winter gloves or driving gloves helps? No, probably because they don't... gloves only help if you change them after you have touched something so as to avoid cross contamination but hey nobody said businesses were smart lol... anyhow I didnt have a mask because I leave them for workers who need them lol. So I called to place an order. Simple enough right. I wait on hold for 5 minutes. Order apple cinnamon bacon, how much says the guy working, I tell him 2 lbs if you have it. He says let me check, hold for 5 more mins, comes back ok 2 lbs of apple cinnamon bacon anything else I say nope that's it. He says ok let me transfer you to get the payment info and they will get someone to bring it out... I wait as I get transferred. 15 mins goes by... I am seeing others walking in and out wearing various types of janky masks from shirts pulled over their faces to loose silk scarves lol. I decided to call back and ask about my transfer and payment lol... I get told oh wow give me your number I'll call from the desk. I wait 10 more minutes and decided screw it and left. Never again will I call for a pickup at that crap show... Funny part... two days later. I get a call back from someone at sunnyside. I answer thinking let's see how this crap show turns out... hey we are calling to see if you are able to pick up the bacon you ordered... I was like nah bro, that shitvwas dsys ago... when i ordered my shit i told the guy i was in the parking lot and only called because the sign said to call and they would bring it out, not make me wait 2 days wtf... guy hangs up on me no response... Was sad because I wanted a damn BLT that afternoon... Best part, went to albertson's on my way home got 2 lbs of double smoked bacon, no mask required and no gloves required. In and out in less than 5 minutes was home in 15 more mins and had a sandwich... sure wish sunnyside had their shit in order so I could support them. After the whole phone order fiasco i dont know that i will ever support them again. read more

This little store is WONDERFUL! We are in from Austin and looking for quality proteins and extras. The meat and fish were exceptional in quality and option. In my experience - head to Sunnyside first, get the items to showcase, then head to City Market to get the rest of the normal stuff you need. Steer clear of Albertsons. The real point, go to Sunnyside and work out from there. Specifically, the beef, seafood, and smoked fish were excellent. read more

Nice selection of meat. Tried the sandwiches which were great, good fries too! It does take a little while to make the sandwiches so don't be in a hurry, but they were worth the wait. I really don't buy meat anymore unless it is 'clean' and locally sourced. Sometimes this can be a chore. I found Sunnyside and when I walked in, I was just excited:). The fish and lamb or out of this world and the deli has some amazing beets as well. There are very interesting sauces and compliments for any meat you would buy. This store is a real gem! read more

I want to love you but the long black hair I found in my Caesar salad and the food poisoning my partner and I got from the dirty rice dressing we ate last night has me reconsidering. We shared a to go of the rice and were up with food poisoning all night. I have to say I was thrilled to find this place, hidden behind Home Depot. They have sushi brought in from East by Southwest, a great variety of sandwiches and salads, AMAZING freshly made banana bread (better than my moms!) and misc grocery items such as local eggs, milk, bread (brought in from Bread), gourmet ice cream....I have never bought any meat or seafood from them, but the place is immaculate and everyone working there is over the top helpful and friendly. Customer service and cleanliness, especially now, goes a really long way. I hardly ever write positive yelp reviews, I mostly just bother if it is a negative experience, but this business deserves the time spent writing this review. My only complaint? No cold pressed fresh juice!!! I'd order one every time if they could add that. It's the only reason I bother going to Nature's Oasis at this point. read more

Meats are not so much high quality as virtuous. Most beef is grass feed, and IMHO best tasting beef is corn fed. Rarely do I buy a steak here, due to lack of marbling. They're not into prime. It's for the kind of person who asks for really lean ground beef from happy free ranging cows. Lamb ought to be better than it is, but it's pretty good -- probably the best stuff in the case. The usual organic chicken providers presented. Breakfast sausage is better than grocery store stuff and costs twice as much. All meat costs comes in at 50% more than Walmart. Walmart lamb is better. Pork is, of course, lean, and mostly lacking in flavor. Frozen meats provide variety you can't find elsewhere in the area, such as ground veal and sweetbreads, and yes, beef heart. The fish counter is ambitious in scope and fairly priced though wildly expensive -- $35/lb fish is well represented at the time of this writing; $10/lb fish is not. Condiments and ingredients on the shelves are the best representation of gourmet offerings in Durango and are generally excellent. I have not explored the short-order/sandwich or to go items much. Very glad it's here, sorry they miss the mark on what good meat is. Little consolation that no one else in Durango hits it reliably either, except Walmart for lamb. read more

A great find in Durango. A small upscale grocery, nice meat selections. I didn't get the sandwiches but the menu looks very good. They have coffee bar but unfortunately open at 8am, not early enough for me. They also have wine bar. I got some Asian sushi products and they are fresh. Amazing market. This is what you want if you care about the food going on your table, they even prep your meat how you like if you call ahead. If you want locally raised products, you will find them at Sunnyside. They have a large choice of beef, lamb, chicken, pork and fish. They generally have everything, but if you want a special cut, they can do that for you too, just call and leave a request. Great, helpful service.
