I've never had a problem with my accounts and can get things done pretty quickly too. I like the spacious parking lot and have never felt unsafe to and from my car. So I was told that Steinbach credit union is number one in Manitoba! So I decided to go check this credit union out in Steinbach! When I walked in there I felt really out of place didn't feel welcomed at all and I talked to someone at front the way they responded wasn't great either it seems like they had no interest in talking to me then at same time Caucasian person walked in and wow the difference I felt how they talked to him Versus me was huge! That was biggest turn off for me! I looked around for someone else may be a coloured person as it should be well diversified credit union as every other credit union is and asked if they have any executive who is around I can talk too! But apparently no one! I figured they probably have no executive who is coloured! Then after digging deeper I saw on their website they have no coloured person on the Board and have no coloured person on their executive leadership Team! The only people on the BOARD are CAUCASIAN or probably their own friends and only people they hire as their EXECUTIVES or CHIEFS are caucasians as well and How can they respect a member who is Coloured if they don't believe in diversification in their own organization. And then I heard from people around there It's been like this since this organization started, even though the whole world is changing to being diversified they don't believe in that! Such a bad impression ! No respect whatsoever when they see you as a coloured person! Can't believe which world do they live in! I recently joined ACU and I hate it so much that I'm already going back to either Scotiabank or RBC, I haven't decided which yet but I know I am not staying with ACU for a few reasons that I wish I knew before ever joining. Don't get me wrong, I like the McGregor location because the people are nice and it's so convenient to walk to but everything else sucks ass. Horrible bank/credit union that I'll never use again. WHAT I HATE SO FAR: NO Debit Visa card only regular debit or credit cards, you have to show ID whenever you go in branch to deposit money int your account (not sure if this is all credit unions or normal but i found it odd), ACU's app is so slow that I sometimes forget I'm even trying to open it and my phone screen locks before it even opens, The E-Transfers/Bill payments in app cost me $1 every time because I'm too poor to afford the more expensive account, no 24 hour customer support for your account so you have to wait for their business days/hours if you have a problem with your account, the e-transfers take forever to transfer... this is only what i have found so far since having ACU, I'm sure there's more based on my reddit search. WHAT I LIKE SO FAR: Quick direct deposit, get it at midnight but this isn't enough to feel like it's worth staying with them with all that's wrong with ACU.
