Hollywood may have it's palm tree-lined Sunset Blvd, but it pales in comparison to Brisbane's own Sunrise Blvd... Okay, I'll stop there -- I can't back that up.
Not to say the cafe doesn't have its charms. I dropped in recently for an afternoon coffee which I enjoyed on one of the banquettes while I took in some quality daytime TV gratis. The shop has a little hole-in-the-wall for coffee orders which a few people patronised in the time I was there. My soy piccolo was quite good, decorated with a shabby-chic heart and served in a 'cute' little white cup (not the usual smaller latte glass).
There was a glass display with some ready-to-eat sandwiches and paninis, as well as a hotbox with spring rolls and other fried goodness (perhaps a concession to the many tradies and labourers in the surrounding area).
Also, they don't take EFTPOS -- cash only.
Oh I just thought of one thing that makes Sunrise Blvd better than its American counterpart: at no stage has British actor Hugh Grant ever disgraced himself there. Sorted. read more
