Can I give zero stars? This guy, with his blond spiral curls, stopped when my husband and I were stalled on the side of 66W in Fairfax on 5/22/21. We had already requested a tow through our insurance and was waiting on it when "Elvis" showed up. We realized right away this wasn't the company we were waiting for and told him so, but he proceeded to walk around our vehicle and say he could tow it for $100. We thanked him, again, for stopping, but said, again, no thanks. Then, my husband started a sentence with "Dude" and this guy changed from a hustler trying to drum up some business for himself to downright frightening. He angrily told my husband NOT to call him that, that he's 60s years old and no dude. He continued furiously ranting about how insurance companies are ruining the towing industry (though he was more than happy to take $ out of the mouth of our pending tow truck driver). He went back to his truck yelling at us the entire way. My husband thought he was going to have to fight this guy on the side of 66. I was seriously scared. I'm glad I wasn't alone. read more

After blowing a tire on 66W, I called Sunrise towing. The owner/operator didn't have a compressor for my spare tire and wasn't in his tow truck, so he kept trying to sell me on putting fix-a-flat in my perfectly good full-size spare. Since I couldn't get a word in edge-wise, I told him that it wasn't going to work and hung up. He then proceeded to call me back five times while I was on the phone with another service. Then he drove out to the spot where I was stranded and yelled at me from the median, making my fiance and I feel unsafe. He claimed that I had wasted his time, but I didn't ask him to come out and yell at me in the middle of the road. It was terribly unprofessional and I would never get into a truck with him. read more

The driver looked and acted like a slob, could care less about the people they're trying to help, and get into road rage events in the middle of traffic - not at all surprised they went out and yelled at a potential customer in the previous review after seeing what I saw: A tall guy in one of their trucks with longer blond hair actually got out of his truck to yell and threaten somebody in the middle of rush hour traffic, not sure what the guy did, but talk about classless and bad for business....now I know....tow truck guys aren't usually your typical DC metro worker, so you usually expect someone that may not be the most attractive looking person on the planet, but having road rage to the point where you get out of your truck to threaten somebody in the middle of rush hour traffic.... Same thing happened to me and my husband this morning in Manassas, VA on Mathis Ave at around 9:15am. Headed down Mathis towards Liberia and we were in the left lane deciding if we were to stay in that lane since it becomes a left turn only lane or move over and go straight. This jerk was in front of us in his flatbed tow truck. Dude looked like he hadn't showered in a year. Long stringy hair and road rage galore. I proceeded to change lanes after signaling and he started to move over at the same time and could care less that he was about to hit the front of my car. To avoid an accident, I signaled and moved back over. He then got next to me, flipped me off, and cursed at me. He then got behind me and kept honking the horn. When the light turned green he turned left too and stayed behind me. He then pulled into the gas station (using it like a passthrough) and sat waiting for me to turn so he could continue to follow me. As he is pulling out of the gas station, mind you he still has yet to know how to use a turn signal this whole time, he has his cellphone up recording me. I just stared at him like the idiot that he is. He followed us for a few minutes and then we didn't see him anymore. What a disgusting human being who is stupid on top of everything. My husband is a former Marine and carries. This guy is going mess with the wrong person one of these days and it will not end well for him. read more

I was driving with a van full of kids when I was going down the road and had to break suddenly because rather than wait for me to pass (on an empty road) he rushed and passed right in front of me, almost causing me to crash into his truck. Now I didn't honk or anything, I was just slightly annoyed. But I was made extremely uncomfortable when he stuck his tongue out at me and made disgusting gestures. Not only did it make me uncomfortable, but all the children that were inside my van. It was disgusting, and he should be ashamed. No services we're provided to me, however I had a bad encounter with this company. One Friday evening around 5, I was walking down 123 when I heard this obnoxious, never ending honking. It was coming from a the driver of this company's tow truck, trying to get cars to turn right into a lane that was impossible for them to turn into. I called into his window that the driver physically could not turn, and he proceeded to lay on the horn. Keep in mind this is rush hour traffic on a Friday in Northern VA, no one's getting anywhere quickly and if you think you are, you're fooling yourself. I called the office hoping to let someone know that their driver was being unprofessional ("hello, I'd like to make a comment about one of your driver's"). As soon as I said that, I was hung up on. I called back and instead of having it answered on the first ring as before, it went to voicemail. Unprofessional all around, and I would hate to be the poor guy having a bad day, needing a tow, and having to deal with this group of people. read more

I was driving on 395 yesterday (July 20, 2013) afternoon when a Sunrise Towing truck to the right of my car suddenly went in front of my car and over to the left lane where the lanes split. It was obvious that he suddenly realized that the lanes were splitting and he was in the wrong lane. Because he had come very close to our car while doing the shift, we honked once. He then proceeded to give us the finger for a very long time and glared at us. He was also driving very fast and agressively. This was uncalled for and extremely unprofessional. I would never use this service and will advise all of my co-workers and friends to not use them. read more
