However, the food items selected as well as the quality were sadly a disappoint. Also, there was staff making made to order omelets and pancakes right next to the buffet table but we had to order through the waitress and wait for her to bring the items.....there was only one waitress for the entire dinning room so as you can imagine, these items did not arrive in a timely manner and were cold. We could of easily walked up and taken these items that were sitting waiting for a busy waitress to pick them up. One waitress made for terrible service. Unfortunately, the poor service and food quality will keep us from returning. I would suggest stepping up the food quality and have some more staff working the room.

We went here for this year's Easter Brunch - what a disappointment! It started with the service - we were seated 10-15 minutes before anyone greeted us or brought us water. Our waitress was friendly, but her service was poor for the rest of the meal. As for the food - very average to even below average. For $27.00 a person, we would have expected a wonderful spread for a holiday brunch. There was nothing special about the food, and was pretty much lukewarm. When we went through the line the first time, there was no bacon, a few sausages, a few eggs (imitation, I think), and no potatoes. About 10 minutes later, potatoes were brought out, and about 5 minutes after that, the bacon...which was undercooked and slimy. On to the lunch part - small pieces of ham and beef, plain corn, California blend, plain lettuce in a bowl, and the same diced potatoes. Again, not what you expect for a $27.00 meal. The silver servers had such little food in them, that it was almost like you were afraid to take anything because the people behind you would have to wait forever for refills! Dessert - looked like store bought chocolate chip cookies, mini chocolate muffins (like at Costco), and flat store bought cheesecake slices. I was so embarrassed that our grown kids drove an hour+ for this unappetizing, mediocre, disappointing holiday brunch. Poor quality and poor service. I was going to give this review 2 stars, but I wrote a letter to the banquet center manager the same day, expressing our concerns and disappointment that cost us to waste $135.00. He didn't even have the courtesy of an apology and response. On a side note, Waterbird charges $16.95 for their regular Sunday brunch. This would have even been pushing it for the meal we had. I questioned the manager on what was different about the Easter Brunch, that prices were raised to $26.95??? Guess we'll never know. He evidently is not concerned about the low quality service and brunch that was served to guests on Easter!

Nothing fancy just convenient for the bridal party. My parents and flew in from California to see her get married and it was worth every minute. They had a very beautiful set up in the reception room, all the windows overlooking the green on the old course. The staff took excellent care of everything from food to drinks, everything. One went especially above and beyond when my mom lost her wallet that night. She opened up for us to go look for it shortly after they had locked everything up and we had already left. She gave me her number and told me if needed we can come back the next day and look again. Thankfully that night she called my cousin because she had found the wallet. We were so grateful she went out of way to find that wallet because we were flying out the next day! Thank you guys so much! I want to say her name was Alecia you guys were awesome!

They shared expert tips for our decorations and accommodated all needs. The food was tasty and plentiful. We were served well by courteous, efficient & professional staff. It's a great venue for a party: large, well-lit room with plenty of room to move about. A great venue option and open to the public.

My 2 year-old and I LOVED this playground (and the pun in the name is just amazing)!…read more When you walk in, you're immediately greeted with a shaded parent area. This is great if you have older kids, but since there are two (that I saw) other entrances, it's still best to follow behind younger kids if you want to make sure they don't leave the park. There is an area called Tot Lot for toddlers, which is a scaled-down version of the rest of the park with baby swings, smaller slides, climbing structures, mounted instruments, etc. We spent some time here, but my son was really drawn to the main playground. The main area is truly a wonderland for littles. With ramps, slides, swings, ropes, obstacles, and a zip line, there is never a dull moment. We visited on a day that was about 90 degrees, so there were only 1-2 other families with us at a time, but the kids that were there all gathered in the shade beneath the main structure. There was fun to be had even under there, with the different ceiling heights and areas making playing tag or hide & seek a blast for everyone. Personally, my favorite part was the large, adult-sized swing (I regretfully did not get a photo... because I was on it the whole time!). It's a standalone swing that is supported by 4 cables. The actual seat is so comfortable it makes me wonder why all playgrounds don't have these! I imagine it's truly for older kids with different abilities, but on a slow day it was my perch. I could see the whole park, including under the main structure and 2/3 entrances, so I just enjoyed the breeze while my son played tag with his new friends. There is also a picnic area and restroom building that looked nice from far away, but we did not check them out. The whole place seems very structurally sound and well-maintained. I was positive it must be brand new because of the quality, so imagine my surprise on the way out when I noticed it had last been renovated in 2014 (11 years ago). Overall, if I could give this playground 10 stars I would. Great job, Valparaiso!

This is likely one of the best playgrounds that we have recently visited…read more We arrived early on a Sunday morning before it got busy. The vast playground has a rubbery ground and is consisted of a section for young toddlers and a larger area for older children. We have two young, energetic daughters so we gained quite a bit of steps in chasing after them as they kept running between the different play areas. I am under the impression that either everything is brand new or incredibly well-maintained. The playground equipment appear to be high-end with exceptional diversity and quality. There are several wooden structures, multi-level jungle-gyms, swings, climbing structures, slides, monkey bars with different height levels, and zip line. Several themes were highlighted in the play spaces too - from fire trucks to solar systems to Vikings. There was never a dull moment in the two hours that we spent there.
