By taking it to Bob's, we were able to get $100 for our haul, so it was definitely worth the trip there. Plus, they are recycling metal, which prevents things from ending up in a landfill. The process is pretty simple: you pull up in their driveway in front of the center and unload your items onto one of the many carts they have available outside. Different types of metal go on different carts. They then roll the cart onto a scale and weigh it. The cashier records the weights and calculates what it's worth. They will then give you a receipt and cash right away, and you're on your way. The whole process is very quick, and the only wait is if there is someone else dropping off items before you and the time it takes you to unload your items. One thing that could be a little easier is understanding what types of metal they accept and differentiating the type of metal, which have different prices. It's of course simple for most people to know the difference between copper and aluminum, but there are other distinctions like types of alloys, extruded, clean or unclean, etc. Some pictures or examples on the website and a clear description of what clean and unclean mean would be helpful. For most people bringing scrap metal, this is probably something they know, but for the casual visitor it would be helpful to know before going in. If you're not sure, though, they will handle it at the shop and you can just trust them to record it accurately.

Multiple times I've called and asked for a price on specific scrap and upon arriving the price changed. When attempting to talk to the manager, he gave tremendous attitude saying "you dont have to sell here!" and "I've been doing business for 50 yrs" BEFORE I could even ask my question. Low and behold the trash and recycling center close to home. With hours of operation everyday it made cleaning day so carefree. We loaded up the truck and proceeded to get rid of the junk at home. It has a drive up roadway where while driving up has a stop for disposables like tv's and refrigerators and other metals and liquids as such. Once you get up the driveway your greeted by a Miami dade worker where you pay a decent fee and they designate where to park to unload your haul. We were told to dump everything at number 2. So easy, we just backed up and proceeded to throw away all our junk into the designated trash bins . We were in and out in less then 10 minutes. Everything went so smoothly and hassle free. If your in real need of some "spring cleaning" or simply need to get rid of some debris and trash, I highly recommend coming here. For one you know it will be disposed of responsibly and your doing a good deed by not being some of these douches out there dumping on the streets. We visited because our over-the-range microwave died on us this past week. As soon as we got it uninstalled, I brought it to this recycling center to free up some space in our home. Although the front lot of this recycling center is fairly small, I was able to get in and out very quickly. I spoke to the forklift operator and he made himself available right away to remove my old microwave. There's no wait and no paperwork needed. Just give it and go. This is actually my 2nd experience with them. The first time was to drop off a smart tv that had died on us. I did the same thing. Give it and go and off I went.
