It is a happy place where horse lovers can find a true connection with horses and good great people. If I wouldn't have to work, I would spend big part of my last there. It is my favorite place to rebalance myself. I am a mother of two little kids, just waiting for them to turn 8 and start having this wonderful connection with horses. We would also contact them about some things but of course, they would never get back to us. I can tell they have improved since then as my friend rides there and have been there a couple times in late 2022. They do schooling shows and everything and loads of events for any level of rider. I do think they can improve more since they do wait a really long time before riders are able to canter and jump. I may go back to Trillion at some point if they improve. And they can do group lessons if you want to take a spouse, friend, child, stranger you just met, etc. etc. The facilities themselves are very nice and the stables are always pretty dang clean. They have an indoor arena too so that's a huge plus in these winter months. There are quite a few grooms here so if you have any questions you always have someone to ask, but beyond that Megan does a great job of walking you step by step through tacking up and care to ensure you're doing it right and are using the correct equipment on each horse. The lessons are top notch. You work with different horses week to week and Megan is excellent at giving corrections while your riding. Lessons differ from day to day and they offer both English and Western, but Megan does an amazing job at remembering where your at and what you still need work on. I'm never pushed to do something I'm not comfortable with, but the option to push yourself is always there (if you've shown you'd be able to handle it). I always feel like my safety is considered while riding here which I can only imagine would be even more reassuring if you have your kids riding. Also worth noting, they offer summer camps for the kiddos.

The only downside is they don't get back to you quickly. My second lesson here, after a few days, they responded saying my lesson would be at 7:30 PM. When I got there, my name was not on the board and when I came to greet my trainer, he said he doesn't do lessons past 7:30. This was strange....However he still gave me a lesson and it was phenomenal!

She loves it! Her trainer is Kate who has been around horses all of her life. She is an excellent trainer and recently talked us into letting our daughter enter her first competition which she placed 3rd in only after having 10 lessons with Kate. A lot of kids take lessons here and all seem very happy. Some children take lessons several times per week, some once a week. They have a horse leasing program for you to share a horse and do boarding there. When my daughter arrives, she goes and gets all of her horses gear and pretty much does everything herself with a little help from an older girl. She is trained for a half hour by Kate than takes the horses gear off at the end, brushes him off and gets help putting him in his stall. All of the horses are taken care of and happy at this barn. There are no saddle marks, they are clean and in happy dispositions. There are many sizes so your child can start off on a pony and move up. Classes are $40 per class.

We could see their very well-cared-for horses in the pasture as we were driving up. The horses we rode were wonderful: balanced, responsive, smooth; and we saw a few other lesson horses being ridden who looked equally good It was extremely hot, but our horses were forward and had plenty of energy for a nice jumping lesson. Our instructor, Kate, was fantastic and all of the staff and helpers there were very friendly.

I feel a responsibility to caring horse owners hence this review. Sunset Hills is a depressing,…read moreunhealthy stable and after only two weeks I have moved my horses to another barn. In just days they are already much happier and not so anxious and hungry all the time. My horses were together in an outdoor paddock with small shelter. After asking nicely to have this paddock cleaned ( poop everywhere including inside shelter), I finally had to give a worker there $$$ to have it cleaned. The horses are fed twice a day, 2nd feeding way too early at 3pm leaving the horses w/o food for up to 16 hrs (NO). I got yelled at for feeding my horses hay in the evening, even though I bought this hay myself and many of the other boarders did the same. My horses were fed in the mud due to laziness when they had a feeder available. No one would feed the ration balancer I provided because " they don't need it," even tho graining is supposed to be included and my horses LIVE for this little bit of grain. Eating their ration of hay thrown on the mud while standing in that mud is NOT acceptable. The staff is rude, argumentative and very unprofessional but no surprise as the MANAGER was also rude, unprofessional, condescending and crossed boundaries. As horse owners we all know the barn is supposed to be our " happy place," the place we relax and enjoy our horse(es). Sunset Hills is not that place. Even some of the nosey boarders gave attitude and made other boarders' business their own. The goats were always in their stall and badly in need of hoof trims, the indoor stalled horses were kept in stalls in a dark barn with little to no turnout, brought in very early. Of course they went right to their stalls... they knew hay would be there and they were hungry. IMO horses should not be locked in a small stall forced to breathe In and eat in their own urine and poop, being stalked for literally 16 hrs or so. Beware. This barn does not live up to its claims. For $460 a month per horse for outdoor shelter I expected at least basic horse care. This barn does NOT care. You and your horse deserve better than this place and believe me, better barns are out there! Good luck :)

I have a lot of anxiety about riding in general as I've had some very bad experiences. But Georgette has been super welcoming. She puts me on Bandit, a very sweet gentle lesson mare. I always feel very safe riding here and I learn so much every lesson. The indoor arena is nice and big with plenty of room for motion. There's a nice selection of tack to borrow for lessons if you don't have your own. I'm really thankful I found this barn!

I've been lessoning with Rose who is great at pushing you, giving good, positive feedback, and matching you with a horse best for you. One of the main things you'll notice is that all the horses seem really happy. I've ridden 3 different lesson horses who all are ready to go and never seem overworked. You can tell the staff is all super familiar with each and every horse and the boarders and frequent lessoners. Very welcoming and a good place to build confidence and skills as a beginner. One only minor complaint is that it's such a well oiled machine with so much staff that I don't get a lot of experience with tacking, brushing, cleaning, or other horse care. They usually have staff that take care of it for you.

She knows how to get my daughter to do her best and that's awesome. You can tell she cares. The overall feel of this facility is easygoing and we never feel out of place here. She is also in tune with the horses, and will not risk a horse or a rider's safety. Barns are barns and horses are horses. With barns comes dirt, but Fox Chase overall is very clean most of the time. Horses are well cared for, and a number of the families who board there allow the use of their horses for lessons and HorsePower Therapeutic Riding. Most of the people there are down to earth, horse loving individuals. I'm not interested in a perfect barn, shiny stalls and halls, and people who think they are too perfect to help people new to horses. This is a riding stable, not an event stable.
