I came here a few weeks ago to grab breakfast before hitting the slopes at Keystone. I ordered the country breakfast with eggs basted medium, this is how I usually order my eggs... they did not disappoint! It's sometimes hard to get eggs just right, they are either too runny or overcooked. I've been back a couple times since and haven't changed my order up yet... Why mess with success? It's listed in Silverthorne, but if you want it plugged into your GPS make sure it says Dillon, CO or you'll end up on a dirt road haha. GREAT bloodys, and mimosas! Have been stopping at this little eatery for over twenty years and it never fails to please. Breakfasts are great and served all day but the rest of the menu is good too not that I've eaten every item on the menu. Can be busy so be prepared for a short wait but it's well worth it. read more

This is a pretty decent breakfast spot. They do a good job with their main breakfast entrees. I ordered the Boarders Breakfast sandwich as well as the wheat cakes. The Boarders Breakfast sandwich itself was delicious and filling- it comes with a side of hash towns and those were not. They had absolutely no seasoning on them, no pepper and no salt. Since this was a to-go order for me & I am traveling, those tiny salt packets did no good. The wheat cakes, when you eat them alone are not very soft and fluffy, and are definitely very "wheaty." But once you add on syrup, pretty much everything is okay. Lastly, I wanted to try the cinnamon bun that everyone raved about as well as the muffin of the day which was blueberry. The cinnamon bun was tough, even cutting it with my plastic knife took alot of effort. It was not gooey and soft as other people claimed. It also had a salty taste to me which was ironic considering my hashbrowns had no salt. The blueberry muffin was just a no. No flavor, no sweetness, and was also kind of dense. I would come back here for the basics, but not add on any of the side items. read more

Great place for breakfast/brunch! It's a large place and very clean. We had awesome service, and they had plenty of people working to keep it that way. We had to wait for a table for 2 when we first got there, but at 10am on a Saturday morning, that's to be expected. We got our food super quickly, and it was delicious! Hooray for solid vegan options! If you're plant-based, go for the vegetarian breakfast burrito. It's clearly labeled on the menu and has bell peppers, onions, tomatoes and refried beans rolled into a flour tortilla. It gets topped with a mild vegetarian green chili and a little avocado on the side. They weren't sure if the refried beans had lard or butter, so we swapped them for black beans. My advice: skip the hash browns and request french fries instead. Also, extra avocado is nice too. This burrito was a good meal and the Sunshine Cafe makes for a great place to bring a wide-ranging group of eaters together. My family will definitely come back next time we're in town. read more

A friend referred us to this place for breakfast and we were NOT disappointed. We were quoted a 15-20 minute wait and were at a table in less than 10. Off to a great start, the menu had a little something for everyone- savory to sweet. Do yourself a favor and get a cinnamon roll - which should definitely be shared. This was our first visit for brunch on a Friday afternoon after driving down the mountain from Steamboat Springs. They serve breakfast all day. We were seated immediately. The restaurant was almost full of people having breakfast and lunch. My husband ordered the tall stack of Blueberry Pancakes. There were 3 pancakes with blueberries on top. The packages of butter were already on the table and the dispenser of maple syrup was 1/4 full. I ordered the Alferd Packer Omlette with sauteed mushrooms and avocado. The little slice of avocado was fanned out to make it look bigger. The actual omlette was good. The hashbrowns were shredded. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The Smuckers jelly was already on the table with 3 flavors to choose from. The ketchup was practically empty. They should have refilled the syrup and ketchup . Service was good. We left Keystone towards the airport after a great week of skiing. We were looking for a place to eat breakfast and found this jewel of a cafe! We had the local burrito with pork and the french toast with eggs. Both were amazing and both were more than ample servings. Our coffee cups were never empty. The service was impeccable. Great place to get brunch in the Silverthorne/Dillon area! I got the chipotle eggs benedict, and the waiter informed me that it was spicy, which in the end, wasn't that spicy. With that being said, the service was great - I never had to worry about my coffee mug being emptied, and the service was great. When the chorizo eggs benedict did come out, it was hot and tasty. So good! I highly recommend. I had eggs Benedict and it was great! The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating.

I had the Chicken Fried Steak and it was wonderful. My girlfriend had the open face special which she said was very good as well. All of the orders I saw on different tables all looked good. The music playing also gave a good vibe for a Saturday morning. I'm pretty sure it was a mix of similar artists including Jack Johnson, Dave Matthews, Donavon Frankenreiter, Ben Harper and John Mayer. Feel good tunes, great selection when we were there. This was my second time at Sunshine Cafe and the reason we came here on this occasion was because the electricity went out at the Arapahoe Cafe up the hill. As we knew the Sunshine Cafe was good to us before, we had no other choice since the Arapahoe Cafe could not take our orders. It was a very small inconvenience. We were just looking for a casual brunch to get our day started. The Sunshine Cafe was packed the Saturday were were there. A gentleman commented as he was waiting or leaving, not sure, "Oh, they are going to seat you right away. That's great." We must have just missed the rush at 11:00am. The waitresses were all very busy, they didn't seem to stop much, but they sure did a great job with coffee, water and coke refills. As I write this, I start to think about the seasons. I'm sure as most mountain towns, they have a slow down in the summer time and a huge flood of visitors in the winter. As I wrote this May 25th, that is suppose to be the slower of the seasons. The Sunshine Cafe must be busy all the time, I didn't see a slow day here. Thanks Sunshine Cafe for keeping it simple. I'm a fan. read more
