Oak Tree Manor - Bride & Groom

    Oak Tree Manor

    (16 reviews)

We truly could not have imagined our wedding anywhere other than Oak Tree Manor. From the moment we…read moretoured the property, we were absolutely in awe -- especially when we saw the huge oak tree where we held our ceremony. The venue itself is stunning, beautifully maintained, and you can immediately tell this is a family-run venue that takes incredible pride in their property, buildings, and service. From the very beginning, the entire team was friendly, accommodating, and so easy to work with. One of the things we loved most was that they have two separate houses on the property -- one for the bride and one for the groom -- and both were spacious and comfortable, which was something we struggled to find at other venues. The venue package itself included so much: tables, linens, water goblets, plates, silverware, and chargers, along with the option for either an indoor or outdoor reception space. They do require the use of their in-house caterer, bartender, and security team, but honestly, that ended up being one of the biggest positives. The menu selection was great, the food was delicious and reasonably priced, and our guests could not stop talking about how good the drinks were all night long. Leading up to the wedding, they were incredibly flexible and accommodating, which made planning so much easier and less stressful. They even allowed us to bring everything over the day before the wedding, which made a huge difference because we were able to focus on getting ready and actually enjoying our day. Unfortunately, it rained on our wedding day, so we ultimately had to move our reception indoors. The team was so patient while we watched the weather and decided what to do. We made the final decision only about an hour before the ceremony, and they moved incredibly fast to completely transform the indoor space so our coordinators could come in and finish decorating. They handled everything calmly and professionally during what could have been a very stressful situation. What stood out most to us throughout the entire day was how accommodating and attentive the team was. No matter what was happening, they made us feel supported, reassured, and genuinely cared for. They were always nearby if we needed something, consistently checking in, and doing everything they could to make sure the day went smoothly so we could truly enjoy every moment. The team at Oak Tree Manor truly made us feel cared for every step of the way. Their kindness, professionalism, flexibility, and attention to detail helped make our wedding day absolutely perfect, and we are so grateful for them.

Everyone was so friendly and kind, and their thoughtful guidance leading up to the wedding helped us feel prepared for every step. I especially want to thank Haydee. Her warmth and attention made such a difference on our wedding day. She made sure our vendors knew exactly where to park, guided them whenever needed, and handled everything with such grace. Because of her, we were able to simply be present and enjoy our day without worry. The entire team went above and beyond, and we will always be grateful for the love and care they put into making our day so special. We couldn't have imagined a better experience. Highly, highly recommend.

What it has lacked until now, though, is lodging other than the big brand name hotels far from walking distance to the town center. The proximity issue has been addressed with the opening of The August Inn, a new bed and breakfast located a short block from Old Town Spring's shopping, dining, and wine establishments. Now, visitors can immerse themselves fully in the town's unique atmosphere without sacrificing comfort or vicinity. The August Inn welcomes guests with its eclectic décor, playful touches, and genuine hospitality, mirroring the spirit of Old Town Spring itself. Each room is thoughtfully designed, blending vintage charm with modern amenities, making it the perfect retreat after a day of exploring artisan boutiques and cozy eateries. If you are into trains, the tracks are nearby, and you can spend a leisurely happy hour from the outside garden table watching American history roll on by. Whether you are in town for an event, a weekend or weekday escape, or just to soak in the energy of the creative community, The August Inn offers an experience that is as memorable as the town it calls home. Chris, the proprietor of the inn, is a charming, warm, delightful hostess who is transforming the diamond from the rough with her vision for a getaway and go-to destination. Yes, there is still some "rough," but the gem is there. We will keep going back as it gets polished.

The hotel was dirty--filthy showers with dirt running off, old coffee in the sink, and black mold. The morning front‑desk agent, Jerry, was unprofessional--constantly outside on smoke breaks, ignoring calls, and even bringing friends to hang out while on the clock. At 11:45 AM (before checkout) I asked to extend one more night due to my disability (heart condition) and the Houston heat. He refused and threatened to call the police at noon, even while other guests were still checking out. Customer service later confirmed rooms were available. This violates the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which requires businesses open to the public to make reasonable accommodations for disabled guests. It also violates public accommodation and consumer protection laws by denying service in a discriminatory and harmful way. Jerry showed no concern for my health or safety, even though I clearly stated I was disabled and at risk. I will be taking legal action so that this never happens to another guest with health issues. I'm a Platinum Priceline member and will never return. Avoid this location if you expect cleanliness, working rooms, or lawful treatment.

The front desk clerk contacted the manager by phone and he refused us. I told them the can't legally do that but was refused anyway. I'm guessing it depends on the Property owner and the general manager. This hotel is nasty. From the moment we walked in. It reeked of marijuana, and people were just hanging out in the lobby, appearing to be nonguests. it was very unsettling. Then we get to the room assigned to us and it was a disaster. It stunk like wet clothes and mold. it was very muggy. i went to turn up the AC and it was the most disgusting AC unit I've ever seen. It had zero knobs and it was so rusted and had mold. the Carpet right below the unit was wet where it had been leaking. i went to the front desk to speak to the attendant and she said they were at capacity and could not provide us with another room. I asked for a refund so I could go elsewhere and she said that was not an option. I asked to speak to the GM or if she could call him and she said she could text him. She texted someone and then came back and said since he was not there she could not issue me a refund but that i could try Choice Hotels, which is who i booked through. after calling C.H. they asked me if I could ask the attendant to put me on check-out status and the attendant said if she did that it would refund me my money and she didn't have the authority to do that. But if I came back in the morning she assured me i would get a refund. so I left to another hotel. the next day i find out that NIck Desai, the GM would not be at work until Tuesday. So if i could call back that day it would be great. Here i am Wednesday march 8th and i have yet to hear from them. The hotel and the management are terrible. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else. Especially if you have health issues because mold and rust are health hazards and MGT doesn't not seem to care about the well-being of their customers. I will never stay at this hotel again. General Manager is Nick Desai and the Property is owned by Shree Raj Prabhu.

By the way the hotel staff was friendly and very attentive. I did not notice the high amount of outdoor or indoor traffic as the other reviews stated. I would not stay at this hotel again. My flight was delayed, and by the time I landed, the rental car center was closed. I didn't have many options that late at night, so I booked this place last minute because it had at least a 3 star rating and seemed decent enough for one night. The shuttle picked me up around 2 a.m., and everything was fine up until I walked into the room. It was dirty, smelled weird, and to make things worse there were roaches. I was honestly shocked this place is even part of the IHG group. Upon check-in things were great until we got to the room. I wanted nothing more, but just to take a shower. When I got to the shower, the glass sliding doors were hanging off of the hinges. It opposed to a safety hazard to me and my family. I called the front desk to try to get it repaired. They said that they would just mark it on my file. Also, the nails were the carpet is attached was protruding up from the floor constantly almost poking my family and I that's a serious risk of potential tetanus. The furniture was definitely worn down and was not up to par to have guests in it whatsoever. Moving on the coffee cups were cracked. I reported all of this to the front desk supervisor which greeted me with an attitude coming off very defensive. When my husband and I went downstairs to talk to her, She was just watching a movie on her iPad with a purple cover. The maintenance guy was there and we tried to initiate conversation. She basically body blocked him like we were going to attack him. Then we got the phone out so we can start recording for my own safety. She very quickly hit her iPad from public eye. I guess to avoid getting in trouble. I asked her for her business card. She told me I can grab it myself. I asked well what is her name so I can obtain the appropriate card because I was going to be calling IHG corporate on this. She absolutely refused to tell me her name. She said I can get the card myself whichever card it is is what I get. We kindly ask her. Can you please hand me your card? She took the whole stand of business cards away and put it behind the desk. At this point, she was causing a scene. Then she got into the computer and she said I went ahead and canceled your reservation. You can go find elsewhere to stay. Leaving us to make last-minute reservations elsewhere if I can rate this hotel less than one star I definitely would.
