In June 2018 Super Builders built a large driveway gate, a small sideyard gate, and a medium-sized patio covering/overhang at my house. Miguel, Gloria, Pepe and team were professional and did a great job from time of estimate through construction. The gates are still performing well and look great. The overhang also looks great (wife is very happy). Here's what makes Super Builders stand out from some other construction companies that I have dealt with: The overhang developed a small leak that warped a small piece of board due to what I'll describe as a very minor defect in the angles of the shingles on one small part of the roof. We only noticed this issue recently. I called Super Builders up for warranty work almost 2 years after the initial install and they came out and were quick and friendly with the repair. Gloria was very understanding and easy to deal with in setting up the repair date and Pepe was as friendly and efficient with the fix as when he did the initial install (good to see him again). Would I use Super Builders again? A resounding yes. It was a pain-free construction process, their quote was very reasonable (about 2/3 of the competitors that I received), and they stood by their workmanship and fixed a minor issue that became apparent 2 years after the install. read more

Highly recommend! SuperBuilders just replaced our entire fence - over 225' total and 3 gates (2 large gates and one small one to keep our dog out of the side yard) 7 feet tall; board on board style. The process was easy and smooth from start to finish. We received quotes from 4 companies but SuperBuilders really stood out. The estimator showed up a few minutes early (nice surprise) and was very thorough and explained all the different options to me. The office staff (Gloria) was also amazing. I changed my mind on the type of fence we wanted a few times and they were very quick at getting updated estimates back to me. We also had to work with 4 neighbors to get this done and Gloria guided me through everything. Great communication. The 2 man crew had the job done within 4.5 days. Look at all the five-star reviews and glowing comments here (and I'm about to add more)! It's easy to understand why -- it's because this company is consistently excellent at what they do. People rave about the customer service, the high quality of their workmanship and materials, their prices, and the outstanding working relationship they establish with their customers, and all of that is true. I want to mention something else that's very important, which they demonstrated on our project. We hired them to build a section of fence and gate (to replace old ones) and a large pergola with a twin-wall clear polycarbonate roof over the backyard patio. We had seen similar projects they'd done and wanted the same thing. We also needed a small section polycarbonate material to cover an exposed section over the front porch, which required Miguel to design a custom solution, which worked out perfectly. After the pergola was finished, Miguel and his foreman inspected it and they concluded that the way it had been built according to the design which we'd asked for and agreed upon, would not provide sufficient support for the roof over time. On their own -- and at their expense -- they came back and put in a significant amount of extra material (and labor) to correct that deficiency, to meet their high standard. And, they came back again, later on, to fix another issue related to the material (not anything to do with their workmanship). The point here is that they stand behind their work and will make sure that the finished product meets your hopes and expectations AND THEIRS, and will perform as it should. I can't recommend this company enough. I would give them 6 stars if I could! On 11/7/19, Super Builders built an approx 100' fence for me and my neighbor in Sunnyvale. To start, the estimator arrived on time and gave a competitive and professional estimate to replace my existing fence. They said it would be done in a day (which I was concerned about) and they had it completed in a day! Sorry to say, I forgot the name of the gentleman leading the 2-man crew, but he was excellent and easy to communicate with (a native English speaker as far as I could tell). First-class! All that said, the front office is where they REALLY shine. I have a VERY difficult neighbor and I was concerned that I was going to end up paying for the whole fence by myself. Super Builders' front office (Yesenia and Wendy) both went way above and beyond to restructure how payments were done to assure that I was compensated for my neighbor's half of the fence. read more

The company did reach out after the job to offer to come back and clean up the job site. The company also did inform me that the dig alert had been submitted on time. However the homeowners had not be informed at the start of the job that PG&E had not completed their portion of marking the utilities before digging started. Improvements with communications with homeowners are recommended. However I did appreciate their reaching out quickly after the job was complete in an effort to address the issues. I had a custom gate and a custom fence built by Super-Builders, and these guys did an awesome job! The young guy they have who does the welding for the iron borders along the custom fencing has ridiculously great skills, better than I have seen with some others with many more years of experience. They are a family business with a couple of generations involved, so they care about their reputation and products. If you have any issues with anything at all, they will work with you until you are satisfied with the result. That also doesn't always happen in this day and age. There was a language barrier issue at first with the workers that made it difficult when I had questions, but as soon as I downloaded a translation app, all was well!! We had a deck built by Super-Builders, and we are thrilled with the result. Contract - We had three bids. S-B's pricing was very competitive (in the middle) and had the most detailed contract. We selected them based on price and very strong customer reviews. They performed exactly to the contract, no surprises. There were a couple of unexpected issues. They were addressed promptly. We also valued the "one-stop shop" approach where S-B handled the construction drawing, the City permit process, and all the inspections. We did not have to lift a finger!! Team - Miguel was the project manager. Alfredo was the foreman. Javier was the assistant. Professional, pleasant, good communication, responsive, on-time and on-budget, show-up as promised, did what they said, great workmanship, gave us suggestions that we did not think about which made the end result better. Everything went well. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 stars is that there were a several planks with mold (see attached photos). I didn't see the mold when I did a walk through with the foreman. However, when I was applying the wood sealer (since they didn't have someone to come up here in Newark to do it, I decided to do it), I've noticed the mold. Last week Super Builders replaced 50 feet of 7-foot-tall redwood fencing at our home, and repaired two other small sections of fence. Most of the work was needed due to damage from the big storms this past spring. We were very impressed with all aspects of their operation. High quality materials, workmanship, timeliness, professional attitudes, communication, etc etc etc. We had obtained three estimates for the work we needed done, and decided to go with Super Builders based on their responsiveness, thoroughness, competitive estimate, and the recommendations of people I know who liked their work at their own homes. Robert Frost once wrote that "good fences make good neighbors". I would add to that and say that good neighbors make good fences! Two years ago, my two neighbors and I decided to have Super-Builders replace the decrepit fences between our properties. Miguel was our contact at Super-Builders, and the quote he gave us was reasonable. He provided specifics about the materials to be used and the price calculations when my neighbor asked for them. After we accepted the proposal, Super-Builders came by in two weeks to build the fence, and the work was completed in the 3-day timeframe that they had given us earlier. My only complaint about the work is that one of the posts used to build the fence was dirty. It had green streaks/residue on it that were noticeable from afar. Most of that residue has since washed off, and overall the fence looks great and is holding up well without leaning or warping. Miguel emailed me the invoice for my share, and there was a 3% surcharge for paying with a credit card, so I chose to pay by check. When I inquired by email about the warranty on the fence, I never got a reply from him, and I didn't care enough at the time to follow up. All things considered, this ended up being a solid 3.5 star experience, which I'm rounding up due to the fact that I would be willing to hire Super-Builders again for future work. But next time I'd definitely get the warranty policy clarified upfront. Edit: After posting this review, I was messaged by Miguel, who clarified that the warranty is for 5 years and that as of 8 months ago, they no longer charge a fee for credit cards. read more

Super-Builders installed a fence for us 6 years ago. I recently noticed that some of the posts rocked when I touched them. I hired someone to repair the posts. When he dug down next to the posts, it revealed that when the posts were originally put in by Super-Builders, they put them in concrete, then left an area of at least a foot with no concrete, and then added concrete to the visible area that is at ground level. So it looks like the underground part of the posts are entirely in concrete because you can see the concrete mounds where the posts meet the ground. However in reality large parts of the posts underground are surrounded by dirt. This is why the posts are rotting underground. If fence posts touch dirt they start to rot. If they are done properly the entire underground portion of the posts are set in concrete. It's a shame because otherwise the fence looks nice. read more
