Having lived in the jolly East End of Glasgow for nearly 6 years now it's fair to say I have tried quite a few Chinese take-aways. I *thought* I had found my favourite one about 3 years ago but one day I had a lovely colourful and very exciting looking menu through my door for Super Cook. Being one of those 'live dangerously' ( kind of...) and 'try anything once' kinda lassies (don't believe ALL the rumours though) I thought 'What the hey, let's try this mother out!'
SO glad we did. I have never had a bad meal from here in the past 3 years I have been ordering from them. In the past I would get the odd ropey meal from Chinese take-aways but the consistently tasty and scrummy meals from Super Cook always keep me going back for more.
I have in the meantime tried other Chinese take-aways since being a Super Cook Convert but, again, they have made my belly sad (or a bit ill), so back I go to faithful Super Cook even if I do have to phone them saying 'I'm sorry! It meant nothing, I swear! It's YOU I love...'
I used to always partake in the Kung Po Chicken from here but then I tried other dishes including Szechuan Chicken, Beef with Green Peppers in Blackbean Sauce, Chicken with Cashew Nuts, Chicken Satay and Chicken with Coriander. All delicious and portion sizes are always more than enough for a hungry Angela.
You can also get good 'All-In-One' dishes which include a choice of one of a few popular dishes in one large tray with either fried rice, chips or both for a great price (I don't have the menu to hand but it's a good deal for someone that's not wanting too much or doesn't have a big appetite)
Right now I am ADDICTED to their delicious Chicken Fried Rice (without sauce - you can choose with or without) with some yummy Chicken Triangles, Curry Sauce with Onions and (cheeky) Chips :) Nom and nom.
They're very accommodating when it comes to dishes you may want that are not on the menu or ingredients you may or may not like in a particular dish.
If you stay in the East End or anywhere near then please give Super Cook a try. They are my Chinese take-away Superhero. read more
