I was craving some gyros and came across this spot. The place was minimally decorated and clean. The menu is simple and written boldly behind the counter on a whiteboard, making it easy to pick what you want. The service was great, really friendly staff. I ordered my food, paid and sat down to wait in the corner of the restaurant. Every person around me was enjoying their plates and sandwiches, so I was excited to eat. My food came, it didn't take long at all. A few minutes maybe? I ordered a gyro sandwich and the meat was juicy and flavorful. The pita bread was warm and soft. It was perfect, so I scarfed it down. The falafel sandwich was very good. However, the falafals were flat and the look of pre-formed. They were good, but the sign does say "original recipe from scratch." I had ordered 3 baklava to go and had to go back and ask for them. The pita bread was warm and very fresh. Hot sauce was brought out with the sandwich. I would come back and try the lamb. The counter guy did not tell me about the "Special" of gyro, drink and side for $7.99. Not cool. Post note: I talked to the owner, the falafel are made there he uses a tool similar to a cookie press. Checking out a Gyro shop off McHenry Road in Modesto. The guy behind the counter was super friendly. They are also supporters of our EMS and Police. The had two American flags on the wall. One with a blue stripe and one with a red stripe. Lots of meat on the Gyros, and thr hummus portions were huge. We will be going back. read more

Their chicken to me tastes like it has some type of curry added onto it, not saying curry is bad but it reminds me of how a chicken dish Indian people make called Thari wala chicken, it didn't taste middle eastern at all. Summary: I came here on my lunch to try their gyro plate and dolma. Let me just say, it was hella bomb!!. Their dolma was wrapped in the traditional grape leaf and the other was wrapped with cabbage. I loved both. The cabbage though having a subtle flavor, absorbed all the juice of what was inside; making it taste great. I love that you really get a bang for your buck at this place. The people were also friendly and it was a clean restaurant. What i loved even more was the Assyrian rice that came with the plate. It was well cooked and had an amazing savory taste. First off, this is my go-to gyros when I'm on a short schedule and I need something quick, fresh and good. I usually get the gyro with fries and a drink. I could never go wrong with that! It never disappoints. Their hummus is pretty good, and their pita is always soft and warm. The other day I went in, I felt a bit adventurous (it wasn't in my favor). The cook was also manning the front so we had to wait a bit to order our food. I ordered the gyros plate. That comes with a salad, rice, the gyro meat, and a lamb kabob (requested with extra charge). It was all very good, however the lamb kabob was just not the best. Lamb meat is very delicate so it should be treated with delicacy. So, the lamb kabob was pretty rubbery and seemed like they weren't made to order. So taking a bite into the lamb kabob was not the best. It was tough, not very hot and really gamey. So I put the kabob aside and ate everything else (which was good). The place is pretty outdated, but the food is fresh (although I might not order the lamb again). The people are nice and overall my experience is always good. The sandwich special is about $10 comes with the gyro sandwich, side, and drink! The drink machine and station does need some cleaning makes me think about how clean they are in the back! read more

When I say dinner it was 3ish and the plate we recieved was a generous plate which you can really tell it was cook with Love if you did not feel that then meet the owner who with smiles checks on you by name when he ask what it was when you placed your order. First time here. I looked on yelp to check reviews because I'm picky when comes to gyros after reading reviews we decided to try. Wow meat was on vertical spit how it should be and the gyro was large and lots of meat (only thing I'd get extra Tzatiki sauce on side) for 5.99 can't beat price for amount of food and quality. Friendly good customer service. Genius to be right next door to a medical marijuana club! We'll be back when in the area. read more

Can you trust someone who criticizes a steak place because they did not like the halibut and shrimp cocktail? Or how about someone who low balls a FOOD place because of what is on the TV? It is immaculately clean and the workers are friendly in explaining Greek to those that don't know and the service is quick. Gyros are good and you can get plates with yellow rice, fries and salad. The lamb kabob sandwich is simply excellent and I am not a lamb fan! The standing joke is that lamb phobic people order gyros until they get a taste ot the lamb kabob and then that is all they order from then on. But...get what you like and want. Plenty of room for wheelchairs and groups. In fact, it is a great space for a business lunch as you can put tables togther and spread your business papers around while eating. The best little hole in the wall in all of Modesto! Super Gyros is our go-to lunch spot whenever we're in town because the food is so good, every time I hear the word "Modesto" I crave their kebabs & hummus. The owner is incredibly friendly & nice & makes our dining experience a pleasant one every time. You can tell he really treats his customers well & cares about making sure we enjoy our dining experience, a quality you don't see all that much anymore. My co-workers & I often come out to Modesto for work & make it a point to eat here if we can. Their food is off the wall amazing & even better, the price is within our tiny little, UC Davis budget. Everything we've ever tried has been fantastic & consistent, I'm particularly a fan of the lula kebab plate & all of their dips. We always come in a big group & the owner lets us sit in the back room so we can have some privacy. Wow this place was so good! I was craving a Greek salad and ran across Super Gyros because they had so many good Yelp ratings. My fellow Yelper's knew what they were talking about. The owner was very friendly, he knocked $5 off my bill when he heard it was our first visit. He said they had been in business 15 years. I ordered the chicken salad with feta cheese and no onions. My dining partner ordered the supreme kabob. My salad was covered in chicken! It was so flavorful and juicy! Yum! The supreme kabob meal had 3 kinds of meat gyro meat, chicken kabob and Luula. (Along with rice, salad and pita) I tried a bite of each meat and wow so amazing. We will be returning to explore more of the menu. The soda machine is RC cola based but the Iced tea was good.
