INSANE. My boyfriend said he almost got an aneurysm just walking inside. Extremely impressive and is a testament to how great the back drops and stage sets are for Universal Studios. As much as people praise Disney, there is no "land" that impressed me as much as Super Nintendo World (may be slightly biased since I'm more familiar with this IP than with Star Wars). Lots and lots of animatronics all around and the attention to details must be commended. Even the restrooms are very strongly themed with the background music changing to match and it being underwater themed too. If you have a wristband you can utilize the interactive aspects of this area, but even if you don't, it's definitely a must stop, even if you may not be much of a gamer. Bright, vibrant colors and so so much to work out. The fact that the "world" is stacked so high in the sky, really gives you the strong feeling of immersion as you are surrounded by everything you'd expect from jumping into a Super Mario game. Lots of photo ops with characters and just with the land as a back drop. There's the Toadstool Cafe, the Mario Kart ride, a shop, and so, so much to look at. Can't wait to come back again one day and not be rushed to finish all of the Fan Fest festivities. read more

For the amount of visitors, this part of the theme park can feel like a really tight squeeze, I recommend to bring all of your patience if you venture here. Super Nintendo World is where your kiddos (or you) will want to use the Mario Power Up Band, it's interactive and easy to spot areas where you can tap band without standing in a line to square off in a game. You will also find the Toadstool Cafe, a shop, restrooms, sitting areas that are always taken, you can meet and take photos with Mario and Luigi, Princess Peaches and ride Mario Kart Bowers Challenge. The Mario Kart Ride always has a wait time well beyond 60 minutes. Prepare to walk up some stairs, down more stairs, walk inside and outside- while in line. Is the ride worth the long wait? In my opinion, not really. It's fun but I wish the ride lasted longer. It's fun to see and experience in the evening.. when the crowd of people is not so heavy. read more

I finally had the chance to visit Super Nintendo World during my Universal Studios Hollywood visit. Before heading into the park, we peeked inside a Nintendo store in Universal City Walk. We found these wrist bands that are interactive with different areas of Nintendo World. We bought four and paid an average of about $30 each band. You're able to link your band to your Universal Studios app and keep track of all the coins you collect. There's also a feature to sync your coins to your Nintendo Switch, but I haven't figured that out yet. My nieces and nephew had bands too and we had a blast going through Nintendo World collecting keys and coins. There are several different stations where you can collect keys to unlock Bowser Junior's Lair and recover the golden mushroom. The staff explains the objective at each station and the lines for these have a short wait. The world is small but it's so fun. The Bowser's Challenge ride is a must do. The line is very long and moves along slowly because guests are shuffled into a room where the game is explained before getting onto the ride. Luckily we had express passes so we waited about 15 minute, but the morning wait times for the standby line ran about 75 minutes. I recommend doing this ride first because the wait time climbed to over 125 minutes throughout the day. Granted it was a Saturday, but I imagine this is a daily trend. read more

Mario World is really fun to look at and honestly feels like you walked straight into a video game. The atmosphere is on point and if you grew up with Nintendo, it hits the nostalgia button hard. I do enjoy it overall, especially since I have a season pass. I had dinner at Toad's restaurant and I'll give credit where it's due. The atmosphere and customer service were great. Super cute inside and the staff was friendly. That said, the food itself wasn't that great and definitely overpriced for what you get. Most of the games require you to buy a Power Up Band which is around $60. You don't really get anything from it besides collecting points and seeing your score, so keep that in mind before buying into it. It does get very crowded and tight, and the wait times can be a lot for what the main ride offers. Still, I enjoyed Mario World as a whole and I'm glad I experienced it. I just wouldn't recommend it unless you plan ahead and know what you're getting into. read more

Cutest world in Universal! So colorful and fun! If you buy a band you can have an immersive experience (kinda like the wands in the Wizarding world) Lots of places to take photos, and videos. It's just such a cute world, totally recommend it, even if you don't like Mario or if you live under a rock and don't even know who he is. Note: if you want to get into Toadstool Cafe make sure you go early and scan the sign to get on their waitlist! The colors are so bright it feels like everything was rendered in HD, and the sound effects follow you wherever you go. You can purchase a power-up watch that grants you points and enhances your experience in the area. Additionally, you can take pictures with some of the Super Mario characters. The ride itself is really fun. While I do wish the goggles weren't as heavy, the virtual reality setting immerses you in the Mario Kart game. As you race through the game, you'll earn coins, just as in the game. The park and ride area is decorated with fantastic decorations that really make you feel like you're inside the game. AMAZING! I finally got to experience this world! I have been waiting since it opened. This was my first time and my husband's first time as well. We had a blast! You enter the world and are full immersed. You feel like you are in the video game! It's great. You can spend a good 3-4 hours here doing everything. There is the Toadstool Cafe, collecting keys, photo opportunities, and Bowser Jr's challenge. Make sure you get Power Up bands to experience it all. It was so fun! I got a ton of really great photos!! I love them. We also did a photo opportunity with Princess Peach! Woohoooo! Lots of fun! The only drawback was how crowded it got after the first hour. People started coming in and it was crowded in the stores and cafe. The early entry ticket is definitely worth it! read more

It was very bright and vibrant. Some areas require an interactive wrist band and a collection of points to access. There are hidden areas where guests can come and collect coins throughout the land. You will need to download the USH app to see how many coins you have and can customize your profile. We went to Toads Cafe and they didnt ask for a reservation (even if I did 2 minutes before going in). We ordered our meals and went to a table. There seems to be an event every 20 minutes or so where the lights dim and the screens/windows have a change of scenery. The Mario burger was worth the price. The patty was thick and they put a lot of mushrooms inside. I ordered the pasta and customization isn't allowed. Beware if you have a mushroom allergy! The desserts were really sweet but tasty. The garlic knots were delicious, I wish I ordered more. Mario kart was a 75 minute wait. It really did take 75 minutes to get on the ride. 2/3 queue areas are indoors with air conditioning and 1/3 of the queue is outdoors, no misters or fans. The artwork and technology on this ride was amazing. I have motion sickness and the only part I couldn't really handle was the last part of the ride. I had a fan that I wore around my neck to provide me air flow. The ride wasn't fast, it was slow. There is a track that the kart follows, and the headset is practically VR. There was wind being provided by the ride itself. It was fun, id go again. read more

Let nostalgia run free, this place checks most every darn box possible when reliving the late 80's and early 90's. (Showing my age ‍) anyways. Coming here definitely be prepared to drop a BAG!!! Nothing is cheap lol. After all. It is Universal Studios. Line que's are long as ever as expected. But while your waiting in that dreadful thing. You're totally immersed in the land of giant mushrooms, biting piranha plants and tunes to make you want to destroy some brick cubes and just go nuts in the most fun way possible. Staff is super nice and informative from my experience. Food is Meh but'll get you through. Just do your self a favor and don't go on a semi hot to hot day. lol frfr. As a big fan of Super Nintendo games growing up, especially Super Mario, I knew we couldn't skip this part of the park. We made a few missteps early on in the day and so we didn't get to come here until the very end of the night. Unfortunately I had my fill on 3D rides and couldn't do any more. We also had very limited time before the park closed so my husband and I just walked around while our family rode Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge. We had a good time hitting the blocks which would make sounds like the game. We went up into the castle to get a better view of the land from up top. We also checked out the gift shop which had a good mix of Nintendo memorabilia and I was able to pick up a really Mario themed Christmas ornament set. I also tried out one of the mini games which was fun and made me feel like a kid again. Haha. For those super into Nintendo, this 'world' is basically like a real-life video game. You can collect coins and stamps, earn keys and compete against other players and teams. You'll need a Power-Up Band that you link to your account in the Universal Studios Hollywood app to keep track of your progress. It's an optional purchase and you'll need it if you want to unlock the challenges and games. I believe it was an extra $50? At that point in the evening, it wasn't worth it for us, but if you want to get the whole experience, this seems like the way to go. I know we didn't take full advantage of all the offerings or the activities, but from the limited time we had here, I enjoyed what I did see. read more

Having to buy a watch to interact with most of the area was really disappointing. Especially since this was the area I was most excited to be seeing with our annual pass. The weights for every little thing were horrendous all three times that we went, and while the decorations were absolutely stunning, we spent a lot of time being bored and frustrated with no way of getting out of the sun waiting in line to play games so that we could enter an area that you could only enter by paying $50 for a watch and then beating games. Honestly it was a money grab and I was really sad and I will not be getting a a annual past to universal ever again read more

Fun and exciting! even if you are mobility challenge especially if you want to go to Super Nintendo World at the lower level. We had a blast! We took the different route to the shuttle for people with baby strollers or mobility challenge heading to the Super Mario World at the lower level. First off, better to flash your handicap placard driving to the parking area so you can get much closer to the event, a $35 general parking the whole day! You can rent a scooter by the entrance it will only cost you $75 the whole day but its worth it! Going there is kinda tricky, when you are already on the "City walk", head towards to the left-most zone where Simpson place located. they have the elevator going to lower level 3, A shuttle will take you there at Super Mario World and the shuttle arrives every 4 minutes. It's worth it after the hustle and bustle. Enjoy the views and rides! read more

We only visited this area of Universal once while we had our annual pass. It's definitely popular and can be difficult to get around with the crowds, which I think intimidated us from checking it out earlier in the year. We ended up visiting on a day when it was raining and that sort of helped with the crowd size. They did a really great job on this land. It is so cute and you really get the feeling that you're immersed in the video game! The line for the one ride can be pretty long. The mobile app for the park helps you determine the wait time. It's a pretty fun little ride! We did feel like the 3D glasses with the hat attached, while cute and inventive, felt honestly kind of heavy to wear--a bit cumbersome. I can only imagine what smaller kids would feel like. Definitely something to see and experience when visiting Universal Studios! read more

Mamma Mia! This is my childhood dream come true! Super Nintendo World (SNW) opened over one year ago, but the hype has not died down at all. When we purchased our tickets to Universal Studios, we added on the early access pass which was $30 per person. It allowed us to enter the park one hour early at 8:00A, before the general public entered at 9:00A. SNW is on the lower level, so you'll need to walk deep into the park and ride multiple escalators down. If you want to eat at Toadstool Cafe, scan the QR code at the entrance to SNW right as you get there. After a quick walk through a warp tube tunnel, you'll be immersed into the Mushroom Kingdom. We headed straight to the ride, "Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge" and the wait was only 20 minutes. Without giving too much away, the game is very interactive and the visuals are amazing... you really feel like you're racing down the course. I highly recommend purchasing a Power-Up Band to make the most of your visit since it will allow you to collect "keys" as you play the four minigames around the park. If you get in the park early, you can purchase it at the City Walk and get it all set up (connect to the app) before entering SNW. Each band is $42, so I'd say as long as you have one for your group, that is sufficient. Complete at least three of the minigames to get access to the final challenge, Bowser Jr.'s Shadow Showdown. Despite only having one band, the four of us were all able to simultaneously participate in two of the minigames and the final Showdown. Through the app, you can also collect "stamps" by completing various tasks around the park. There are no tangible prizes from the stamps, but more so just increases the level of engagement. Every hour or so, the characters will come out for photo opportunities. Mario and Luigi come as a pair, with Princess Peach and Toad stationed independently at separate areas. While SNW is smaller than you might expect, there is so much packed into the space. A somewhat hidden staircase near Bowser Jr.'s Shadow Showdown leads to an overhead view of the land and to one more game. Explore every corner, look up and take in all the details. AH! so many expectations for SNW! i recommend the early access pass when you get your tickets $30.00 so that you can enter the park at 8 am. you can purchase gear at the SNW store in Universal City Walk. it will honestly save you time when you are in the park in my opinion. A little disappointing unfortunately! SNW is actually relatively small with only one ride Mario Kart! The park itself is very interactive; power band ($47.00) or not. Bowser Jr. Shadow Showdown by far is the best as far as games. It does require 3 KEYS to be able to access it. So you'll have to play and go around with your band. You can tap the blocks with your band and virtually play their games. what's cool about the powerband is that you can register is on the Universal app and see you progress and coins and where your character team stands, the tops scores and stickers you collect throughout if youre in team it makes it fun and competitive. overall this increases the level of engagement in the park.. i personally think its work it haha. were coming back again in the future for sure! On a hot and sunny Wednesday, we came to Super Nintendo World. Roughly about 2.5hr wait on line for the ride. Most of it was outside in the hot sun, which drained our energy. Had to hydrate and rest after the ride before we can continue with the rest of the park. Really wanted to dine at the Cafe as the food was in cool Mario bro style. I know, gimmick but cool. However, the cafe was full and no more waitlist at the moment, so we moved on. Very fun, mostly geared for kids and not adults. More kids than expected as it is a school day. On 21 November 2024 on or around 1200ish an Employee at The Alarm Challenge by the Name Daniel by the far is the rudest employee you have employed. His demeanor is very rude and aggressive especially towards children. I have visited three Universal Studio Sites from Japan, Singapore, and to the United States and by far the rudest staff member I have ever encountered. Didn't drop my Yelp rating due to the fact I am a frequent visitor and love the brand but hope other visitors don't stand for such service and hopefully management will correct this matter. During the Date of visit no waits or major issues beside that encounter. There is a place to purchase bracelets inside, credit card only, if you happen to miss the Nintendo store outside of the entrance. No strollers allowed so we parked ours near Transformers ride. FINALLY!!!! I've been wanting to go visit Super Nintendo World since it opened at Universal Studios Hollywood! My husband and I took a quick trip out to LA in early February. We spent a Thursday at Universal Studios Hollywood and had booked early access tickets for 9:00 A.M at Super Nintendo World. Check-in was pretty easy. The team members at Universal Studios Hollywood scanned your barcode for Super Nintendo World at two places. Entrance to the theme park, and before the escalators to the Lower Lot. Before you enter Super Nintendo World, you'll be presented with a photo op area and then a pipe to go through. It felt like you were walking through a part of Princess Peach's castle from the N64 Super Nintendo game as part of the walls had paintings that resembled some of the game aspects from the N64 Princess Peach castle. This place is amazing! We spent several hours there. The first thing that my husband and I did was grab the QR code reservation from Toadstool Cafe, which opened at 9:15 for reservations, and then immediately went to the Mario Kart ride. The wait seemed like it was less than 45 minutes for the ride. If you purchase a Power Band for $40.00, you'll be able to interact with a lot of the activities within Super Nintendo World. You can collect coins and stamps with the Universal Studios Mobile application linked to your Power Band. I'd highly recommend to try and fit in all of the experiences early as wait time can get relatively longer towards the afternoon. Throughout the Super Nintendo World, you'll notice a lot of themed iconic memories from the video game like Bower's castle, Princess Peach, Blocks, Hidden 8-bit characters, Bowser Junior, Whomps, Goombas, the Piranha Plant, and so much more! There is also a gift shop, 1-Up Factory, that you can purchase Nintendo themed merchandise from. You'll end up getting dropped off into this gift shop after riding Mario Kart: Bowser's challenge. There is character meet and greet inside Super Nintendo World. You can meet Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach. You can check the mobile application for times.
