A huge range of hifi equipment, dvd players, speakers, etc., etc. Probably the best in Nottingham…read more There is a demo room, equipped and kitted out for customers to listen to/watch demonstartions of the euipment, before they buy. The settee and soft furnishings give a homely feel to it. The ONLY thing I don't like about this shop is the manager! A rude, arrogant, bad-mannered little twerp, who spent most of his time yapping on the 'phone (in a very loud voice), whilst his young assistant did the work. The was an Assistant Manager there some time ago, who was extremely good at his job, and thoroughly knowledgeable he has obviously moved on to bigger and better things (he now has his own business)
Windblowers Sheet Music & Wind Instrument Specialists

They've been there a long time. That doesn't necessarily mean that they are any good. Derby Road…read morehas become easier to park on again since the pay and display machines have come into force, so that helps, as the walk up that hill is horrendous. If it's sheet music that you're after - they're good. They stock a surprisingly good range of material, both from exam syllabuses and also general repertoire. You can also buy fancy little gifts - pencils with treble clefs on, badges, bookmarks, socks - I love my bassoon etc. I would say don't buy an instrument from them (if you know what you're doing). They will match up a beginner with a bog standard instrument and it will work. When you need the important second instrument (when you've reached another level) the advice rarely seems specialist enough, and their stock isn't as broad as it is for beginners. You certainly pay top end prices for shiny looking but sometimes mediocre instruments. Sorry.
I recommend Windblowers 100%. We have had 4 instruments from them over the past 7 years, from my…read moreson's first trumpet to his latest euphonium. We spent a fair amount of time over the most recent purchase, visiting the shop on many occasions to try different instruments. While it is impractical for a shop to hold huge stocks of instruments to try, they were really helpful, and ordered in a non-stock item for our son to try. Nothing is too much trouble for them and everyone is very friendly and helpful and not 'pushy.' If you want good service with a smile, go to Windblowers!

They are a special seller in this area, so the staff and well clued up on all the different products. Also unlike places like Curys they will take the extra step to making sure everything is perfect for you. When you buy your stuff they also fit it for you, so that includes all the speakers which would need wiring. Stuart Westmoreland specialise in the sale of Bose, which as most know is a great premium speaker brand. So if nothing else go in and get a demo of those speakers because they sound good. OVerall the price at Stuart Westmoreland is a tad more expensive than most but thats mainly because you're paying for the service.

After firstly visiting the Victoria Centre branch (whose Customer Service skills I could never have faulted previously), I was very disappointed by the complete lack of 'engagement' by two of the 'staff' there - I was the only customer present at that time. However, the great team at Long Row ,Nottingham, saved the day!! :) My thanks go out to Dil - who was very thorough in assisting, explaining (and problem solving!) especially to a customer who is not very 'tech-minded'. In addition, Fez - your 'leadership' and supportive skills are first rate (from my observation)! I can see why this store is so busy.. but I didn't mind waiting! The staff remain very approachable, friendly, with a calm willingness to go an 'extra mile' - in a very busy store!! Quite a skill to 'pull off' well! ;) As a result of the exceptional standard of service, this 3 Store made extra sales (from this customer at least). And isn't that what business is about? ;) Thank you!
