Mr. Barkley is professional, and I believe he knows drywall. I needed a kitchen wall that had been…read morewallpapered in the 80's and painted over repaired, since the removal of the wallpaper had damaged the drywall and ripped the outer paper. I also had a "bad seam" to the left of my back door from when I had a new (smaller) door put in that needed smoothing and sanding. After Mr. Barkley's personal quote, his two workers came for a quoted three day job, and after 5 hours, one told my Husband they were done, they packed up and left. There was no mess, clean up was professional. I came home and we looked at the work. Not enough finishing done to paint, so one worker was sent a 2nd day when I told Mr. Barkley what happened and he came to look at the work personally. He said he saw what I was talking about and agreed they finished too fast. One worker came the 2nd day close to noon, asked me what areas I wanted worked on, I showed him, and he got to work. House got quiet in the afternoon, we looked in the kitchen, no one there. He had left without saying a word (I feel like he was "done for the day"). Mr. Barkley came over personally the 3rd visit and finished the kitchen wall to paint quality, but the area to the left of the back door was still rough. In all fairness, I didn't nit pick over the back door area because I didn't want them back after the 2nd visit, and I don't want anyone back in my house from Barkley's going forward, which I understand removes his ability to "make me happy". I have no problem with Mr. Barkley, and feel that he does know his stuff, but his workers left a bad impression, and I don't feel like the job was as complete as the full payment was that actually exceeded the estimate by a small amount.
