This is a gem of a store, the owners are friendly and now how to provide excellent customer…read moreservice. We asked them to come round and measure our windows because we wanted some blinds fitting. They turned up on time, despite of of them walking with crutches following a broken leg. They measured every window in the house and provided really helpful advce. We went into the store to choose the blinds and the owner was so helpful, it was so nice to have someone provide real advice rather than just pushing the most expensive products. We settled for midrange blinds which were in store withing 10 working days. We arranged a time for fitting and once again the fitter turned up on time to fit the blinds. Before he left he made sure that we were happy with the blinds and there was no mess or packaging for us to deal with. We will certainly be returning to Cambridge Interiors for more blinds and when we do our bathroom and kitchen we will go to them for our flooring. We are also considering wooden flooring which they also fit. I am very hard to please as a customer, but I am pleased to find a company that knows it's business and knows how important happy customers are!!

Really awful experience. Purchased a Lino floor 4th November. We were told we needed to remove the…read moreold Lino prior to the fitter coming to screed the floor. We called to say we had been at it for a couple of days and couldn't move parts of it. The fitter was sent to asses and couldn't believe we had been told to pull it up as it's next to impossible and can easily be screeded over. When the fitters then came to fit the Lino took they ended up not fitting it as there was a lot of damage to it. Scratches and ridges that meant it didn't lie flat. We had been told flooring is all checked before customers are called to book fitting dates, ours obviously wasn't. Fitter let us know they'd informed carpets 4 less and they'd be in touch. By the next afternoon we still hadn't heard so rang them. They told us they needed to reorder the floor and it would probably be the next day they could do that. I let them know we were on a tight turn around now as we had a kitchen going in 12th December. They said they'd let us know once ordered and it should be fine date wise. We heard nothing again for a few days so called and left a message. We had no call back so after a couple of days I emailed to complain as it was no longer feasible to get the flooring in time. I never received a direct response but the next day did then get a call to say they had ordered a replacement but couldn't confirm any kind of turn around. The floor then did come in the day before my kitchen was going in. It took about twice as long to come in the second time around so I am assuming they took their time reordering. Meaning the kitchen now had to go in first and I'd have to pay to have the kickboards taken out and trimmed. They said at this point I could have the fitter any day the following week. We agreed the Friday. The next day I was notified that the kitchen start date was pushed back by two days, so I called to push the floor fitting back. I gave 5 days notice that I needed to rebook. The person on the phone at carpets 4 less was extremely rude. Cutting me off mid sentence, telling me there is no way they can help before Christmas despite a different employee telling me a day prior that everyday that week had availability . I said forget it I'd come and collect, then all of a sudden I could have the Monday! Floor has now been fitted today 15th December, 6 weeks after ordering. Not once did carpets 4 less make proactive contact with me, not once did they apologise for the flooring arriving damaged or the long wait time. Plus they were so rude on the phone when I needed to rearrange, despite me giving plenty of notice and also being in the predicament of having multiple works going on in the same week due to their error and lack of urgency to rectify the situation. Absolutely awful experience, will never purchase flooring from a high street chain again and will support small businesses instead.

Customer service was awful - didn't turn up for appointments to sort problems and have to constantly chase them. Finally after weeks of persistence, the carpet was just about acceptable. Beware!! They take your money but you have no comebacks - they are a franchise and when you complain if things go wrong, they palm you off with "contact Head Office" who don't even bother replying! Wish we'd spent a bit more and got a quality job and service and a reputable company to fall back on if things went wrong! I wouldn't normally write a review, especially a bad one, but for this shop and for the service I…read morereceived I feel I have to as I don't want other customers to go through what I've gone through; We ordered laminate flooring for our first floor from them and arranged for it to be fitted the week after. Then it turned out that I had to go abroad urgently so I postponed the installation day for two weeks by calling them and they did without any problem. A couple of days before the installation day I called to make sure everything is in order, and I'm glad I did because they had ordered the scotia which was white and not grey which was the colour of the flooring, now, this can be an honest misunderstanding on their part as they said they always as default go with white scotia, so I changed it to be the same colour as installation and I was told that now because of this it would be delayed, which is understandable. They told me it would be ready to be installed on Monday the week after. Then that day they called again and said it has to be Tuesday and cannot be Monday, and we had no choice but to agree. On that Tuesday I received a call from the shop saying they had completely messed up the order and that the laminates were completely the wrong colour. Albie junior (the son of the owner) was the person we were dealing with and he came round with another sample of laminate to see if we were ok to go with that instead. Given that our house was upside down for a while now (as we have moved everything downstairs to make room for installers) we agreed to go with the new laminate which was the same colour and almost the same quality (but not quite the same as the one we had ordered originally), but we thought in the interest of finishing the job we would go with it. Then he said to receive the order in time the installation has to be on Friday. I must say they agreed in order to put things right to use the underlay which was better quality and also not to charge me for extra for the matching colour scotia. Friday came and the installers came and started installing, but the scotia didn't get delivered. Throughout that day myself and also installers were on the phone with the shop owner and we were told that maximum in one hour the scotia will be delivered but it never did. We paid the full agreed amount to installers Carl and Duncan, which by the way we were really happy with and they were honest and professional people. At 4pm The owner, Albie senior (after my call) told me that another installer will come round at 5pm and will install a scotia that will blend well with our flooring he assured me but it's not the same colour. After the installer showed up at 7pm we realised that the scotia is a very light grey, more white that grey really. At that point we didn't want to compromise with their utter incompetence anymore so we said no. The day after I drove to B&Q in St. Neots to buy a matching colour scotia (which the shop could've done during that week if they would've cared for our job) and paid the second installer again (David, who is also very good, professional and honest man) to install that for us the day after (on a Sunday). After all that, then I thought it's only fair that they reimburse us the money we paid for the new scotia in B&Q, but the guy who own the shop wouldn't even listen on the phone so that I can tell him what is it that I want to talk to him about and he hung up the phone. He also said that because the installer agreed with you that the scotia was more white than grey, I would sack him now and that's on you!! I have never ever dealt with such an unreasonable man before in my entire life that talks and never listen back to what you have to say, literally. Now I'd leave it to you to decide if you want to deal with this people or not, good luck if you do, but for me, I'd never ever again. I wouldn't even go near this shop again. The installers Carl, Duncan and David as I mentioned, were all professional and honest people and unlike the owners, you wouldn't feel like you are being lied to when you talk to them. There is another guy who works there called Jordan who also I feel you can deal with as I talked to him a couple of times and he was a reasonable guy I thought.
